But, on the other hand, I don't think al-Sharaa was going to treat Rojava with any amount of true respect, given most of the FSA was actively fighting the SDF aside from a few weird situations where there was FSA infighting or they'd garner a temporary truce for bigger reasons.

It took them 3+ years for them to capture that territory from ISIS. US Airforce and SOF actively supported their advance. Kurds were provided training, money and 30000 truckloads of logistics from US. Yet, they lost these gains in 3 days.Which i say, this is one of the worst fuck ups of American military and policy making.
