Stumbled across an opportunity to serve on board a Virginia Class submarine as an Information Technician. Haven't told my CO I want to do it but thinking about it.What is the good, the bad and the ugly about submarine duty?
There's a reason why the dropout rate during vetting and after first tour is so high.

>>65197302>Find your fattest, sweatiest, most socially inept, friend or family member. >Bury your nose in their balls, with your mouth nestled safely between their buttocks.>Probably best to get consent first, just to avoid the criminal record (post vids of that conversation)>Stay with your face under that mass of sweaty flesh for 24 hours while trying to do your job. There you go OP. That's basically what you're signing up for. Have fun.
>>65197440It's not rape if all parties consent.
>>65197559it is if you can't withdraw
>>65197302don't
>>65197302You'll basically be working or studying when not sleeping or eating the entire time. This isn't a surface vessel that you can just go fuckoff somewhere to chill. You'll always be within arms reach of someone unless you are taking a shit.
>>65197302You could make comparative fucking bank if you're a natural. That's not likely though.
>>65197559>non punitive buttsex>
>>65197559It's not a party if all consent is rape
>>65197552Modern day American nuke submarines are comparsatively huge and have good air circulation. The stale air and bad smells were due to the power limitations in old diesel subs and the smell of diesel itself. Nuke subs literally make air from water.
You only yolo once anon
>>65197302Choose your rate, choose your fate. As an IT, your life will be fairly comfy. Your first 3 months will be spent "cranking" in the galley. Helping the cooks with putting together salads, cleaning dishes, cleaning the mess deck, etc. It sucks. It is temporary. When I was in it was 6 on watch, 12 off, which fucks hard with the circadian rhythm.I understand they have 8 hour watches now. Your watches may be different due to the job. Will be pretty easy. If you are prone to seasickness, you will find out. Good news is that once you submerge, everything goes still, like working indoors. Be prepared for a butt ton of fire drills. 80% of drills are in the engine room. Work diligently on quals. Going "dink" sucks, but it happens to everyone. Just make sure you get your dolphins done on time. Get qualified a watch asap to support the watch bill. Otherwise you are just a rack-occupying, potable water-using, chow consuming scrubber load. War games are fun because you kick everyone else's ass. Pic rel.t. MM2/SS
