Alright now hear me out with this: what if you put a sabot in the center of a hollow point? A steel (or tungsten or whatever) sabot core with a soft lead hollow cavity around it and a nice petal design for good expansion

APHP is a thing, exists in 7.62x39mm and other rounds. Just go full AP if armor's a problem, the HP won't survive through the plate.
