Is a .30-.35 caliber rimfire feasable? Or is that asking too much of rimfire primers?

>>65198547>Is a .30-.35 caliber rimfire feasable? It was when everyone was using black powder guns. Look up the .44 Henry cartridge to see what people were doing in the past.>Or is that asking too much of rimfire primers? With smokeless powder it's sort of asking too much.
>>65198577What about a bottlenecked rimfire? Would the increased pressure help out there?
>>65198598By nature rimfire is a lower pressure round. The brass has to be soft enough for the firing pin to mash it to set off the primer. Higher pressures require harder brass to not have case failure. Harder brass doesn't mash when you hit it with a firing pin. Harder/stronger firing pin would be more prone to breaking. If you want to see the current big boy on the block of rimfire, look up .17 winchester super magnum.
