What were the USA's Armed Forces branches thinking when they all collectively decided to change the camouflage uniforms from a desert pattern to what basically amounts to an urban one for the US Army (And the Air Force?), and the infamous ocean camouflage for the US Navy? How did the US Marine Corps get something more sensible?
I feel as though many years from now when I'm on my deathbed, as my breathing gets labored and I know the end is fast approaching, I could go onto whatever remains of /k/ and still find a thread bitching about UCP.
They did it wrong on purpose, as a joke.
>>65199332Does it matter? clearly its working in iran.
>>65199332>How did the US Marine Corps get something more sensibleDid the USMC gate keep the pattern from most of the other services because they needed to look special?
For me, the adoption of this camo pattern confirmed to me just how kiked our military is/was.
>>65199656That didn't prevent anyone else from making non retarded decisions regarding camo
>>65199789I fully agree but it spurred on the notion of trying to have branches be easily distinguished from each other which leads to why UCP has an ass color pallet instead a more reasonable one. >the marines look woody and sandy>therefore we cannot
>>65199656yes
>>65199625
I assume, as is usually the case, someone profited a great deal from it.
>>65199982I know that's always been a thing with MIC, but man did it take over everything from GWOT onward.Soon things will be like>US Army, brought to you by US BANK and SIG USAand it'll be announced by Ryan Seacrest regularly
>>65199332The better question is, service-wide, why does the Air Force, Navy and Space Force have camouflaged utility uniforms?
>>65200011>Soon
>>65200515It's at the stage where it's just a signifier. Like the cunt cap or the beret, neither of which are particularly useful as hats beyond letting everyone know you're in the military.
>>65200551Fucking cunt cap. You need to be wearing a flight suit or missileer onesie to have a pocket for it. Those are the best uniforms too since they are free and wash/wear.
>>65199618I can believe that about Aquaflage.
>>65199813>palletPalette.You sleep on a pallet.
>>65200562>flight suit or missileer onesieI hate taking a dump in those.
>>65199332
>>65201290You know it's good if people still wear it. I rarely see anyone wearing UCP.
>>65199332It has been what, close to 20 years of UCP? Imagine being the last person in the Army to wear it. Are there any active service personnel who still have it, somewhere?
>>65201480>Are there any active service personnel who still have it, somewhereI still have it in my closet, I think was one of the last OSUT classes to be issued the UCPs in fall 2015
>>65199332unironically every other branch wanted to copy the Marines and be special. Not even exaggerating
>>65201290Does anybody in the services still use woodland camouflage? Not the newer version, but the original 1980s, 1990s, and early half of the 2000s camo.
>>65201480There was a holdover from my AIT a little under adecade ago who was awaiting discharge for being in a homemade porno running a train with other dudes on a barracks bunny that wore UCP. His PTs were the old grey and blacks too.I was issued OCP. Apparently I missed being issued it by about a year when I went to basic. So lucky me. OCP is way better looking anyways.
>>65199332The Marines may be retarded, but it's smaller and less bureaucratic as a result.
>>65200547Man, that was pathetic. Still can't believe that actually happened. What a disgrace
>he’s still making threads It’s just spamming at this point. What got hit in pidorstan this time??
>>65200547>>65201605I'm a free market guy, and even I'm saying that is some truly end-stage capitalism right there
