Beutepanzer editionPrevious thread >>65145399
two can play at that game
>>65199691I like they had a standing order that equated to "if it ain't bolted down steel it, if it is bolted down steel the bolt as well!" when it came to transport in the latter stages of WW2
>>65199315Japanese infantry was why
>>65199691Ah the 83rd infantry division aka 'The Ragtag Circus'
>>65201205neat.so OP specified beutepanzer thread, can we also post just any AFVs / tanks?
>>65201826Anything armored goes.
>>65201139How does wooden beam protection compare to sandbags and concrete?
>>65201167>Just noticed the cardboard cutout facesFucking kek
>>65202456prevents magnetic mines from being attached without all of the weight.
>>65204169Leopard 2A4 is best Leopard 2
So, /k/ doesn't like tanks
>>65204293Don't be a panzer bitch, post tanks!
>>65204390
>>65204169Nice. I personally am not fond of the Leopard 2 for no other the reason than I just don't like it.
>>65201826The german word for AFV is literally "Schuetzenpanzer"
>>65205745>The German word for AFV is literally shits-in-panzerCan't make it up!
>>65205753>posting in a tank thread without ever having done a can logfucking neverserved's
>>65205707>I just don't like itYou'd better start
>>65199691Understood why the germans stole equipment, they needed itBut what use would the western allies get from German equipment that would be worth the extra logistical hassle?
>>65206491Because deep inside, every single dude craves the StuG life.
>>65207091>every single dude craves the StuG life
>>65206098Make me.>>65207091Stugs are eternal!
>>65208101>Make mehere's a Pz 87 (Switzerland) with 7.5×55mm machine guns
>>65208123>7.5×55mm machine gunsI need a cold shower.
>>65206491Assault guns are useful and they probably had enough shells and parts from whole platoons of captured equipment to use one in. Also sometimes your armor is busy elsewhere so you make do with captured guns if you just need to blow some shit up.
>>65208330>if you just need to blow some shit up
>>65207091>I got StuG's in my head and they're telling me to go absolutely fucking stupid on 'em.

>>65199664Could this do anything to an m3 or a sherman?
>>65209712From the side? Kinda.

>>65210392come in, you can barely see the wheel of the sun, i mean wheel of fun
>>65210404>>65210392maybe one isnt enough?double benis panzer?
>>65210407be it benis or wheel of freedom, one is never enough
This is the first image of the Rheinmetall-Leonardo IMBT (Italianized version of the KF-51 Panther), likely to be officially presented this year at Eurosatory. What do you guys think?
>>65210434what is going to happen to the Ariete tank?
>>65209712if its build like a Fiati could break down in front of it
>>6521044390 of them should be upgraded to C2 standard and kept in service for a while. There is also an option to upgrade 35 more should the need arise. The rest presumably will be scrapped or cannibalized for parts. Keep in mind that the new tank is still in developement, and deliveries of that are presumably not gonna be very quick

>>65212403>Chronological orderDon't think Russians have deployed T34s to the Ukraine.....yet?
>>65212548the russians hade one at a road block in Lychansk, towed from a monument. The municipial departement of parks and recreation of Trostyanets fielded their pic related mighty t34 (already in the 70s), where it held its position against countless waves of russian armor and soldiers. took the russians some meatwaves to realize its filled with concrete.
Was the Hummel a good SPG?
>>65212682Yes the hybrid Pz III/IV chassis of it and Nashorn was a good use of obsolescent Panzerkampfwagen components.
>>65206491It would be a very good way to learn about the enemies equipment.

>>65199664Why are rivets so sexy?
>>65215376Are you a fan of 19th century engineering?
>>65212489these looked cool at least
>>65212507they thought it would be mistaken for a Sherman?(or that's US Army capture)
>>65216652That was a Bong captured Panther. The Germans did try to disguise Panther as allied tank destroyers in particular M10s during the Battle of the Bulge. It failed due to a few things but one notable stand out is the white recognition star surrounded by a circle painted on them was only really painted on the roof of allied vehicles generally by the Battle of the Bulge so when allied forces saw that painted on a tank they knew immediately something was up.
>>65216835ah (yes I know about the 'M10' disguises)
>>65217384Can't seem to find any info on this. What the hell was it trying to accomplish? >>65217387They also half assed some US SPG's out of Stugs.>>65217407I feel like at the time someone must have said "This is the worst tank ever made!" only to be corrected "The worst tank ever made, so far!"
>>65212764How does it compare to the Wespe? Just a bigger, meaner version?
>>65218592The Pz III/IV (basis of Hummel and Nashorn) is a hybrid of components from both the III and IV chassis with engine mounted in front. Wespe was a front-engine variant of Pz II, much smaller and narrower hull.
>>65199671>ywn be a scruffy US infantry man riding around in a light armored vehicle through the muddy rural villages of france
>>65199664captured tank pics always give me flashbacks to playing Command & Conquer, when you could capture an enemy war factory and make their tanks
>>65220283Funny thing is there are some secret vehicles in C&C like in Tib Dawn campaign if you capture a GDI factory you can build APCs and MLRS from the airstrip and if you capture a helipad can build Apaches. >>65223145Due to the angle I choose to believe they are directing fire by interpretive dance.
>>65224960>that extended rearl-lewd!
>>65225053I feel like even with some context I'd have additional questions.
>>65206491>>65208330both the US and Brits lacked an assault gun. the US ended up using Tank Destroyers for it, which was not ideal, and the Brits poured massive resources into the huge and slow Churchill infantry tank. The Churchill was a good tank just completely unnecessary and expensive for what it was meant to do
>>65226358>US and Brits lacked an assault gunThe US had 75mm and 105mm howitzers fitted to tanks? The Brits had 3 inch and 3.7 inch howitzers fitted to tanks?
>>65220041>ywn be a zogbotGood

>>65236014>>65236282yep, vickers 50-calNot remotely operated, there is a hole in the center of the mount where the gunner stands in
