Assault guns are useful and they probably had enough shells and parts from whole platoons of captured equipment to use one in. Also sometimes your armor is busy elsewhere so you make do with captured guns if you just need to blow some shit up.

90 of them should be upgraded to C2 standard and kept in service for a while. There is also an option to upgrade 35 more should the need arise. The rest presumably will be scrapped or cannibalized for parts.

Keep in mind that the new tank is still in developement, and deliveries of that are presumably not gonna be very quick

the russians hade one at a road block in Lychansk, towed from a monument.

The municipial departement of parks and recreation of Trostyanets fielded their pic related mighty t34 (already in the 70s), where it held its position against countless waves of russian armor and soldiers. took the russians some meatwaves to realize its filled with concrete.

That was a Bong captured Panther.
The Germans did try to disguise Panther as allied tank destroyers in particular M10s during the Battle of the Bulge. It failed due to a few things but one notable stand out is the white recognition star surrounded by a circle painted on them was only really painted on the roof of allied vehicles generally by the Battle of the Bulge so when allied forces saw that painted on a tank they knew immediately something was up.

>>
>>65218592
The Pz III/IV (basis of Hummel and Nashorn) is a hybrid of components from both the III and IV chassis with engine mounted in front. Wespe was a front-engine variant of Pz II, much smaller and narrower hull.

both the US and Brits lacked an assault gun. the US ended up using Tank Destroyers for it, which was not ideal, and the Brits poured massive resources into the huge and slow Churchill infantry tank. The Churchill was a good tank just completely unnecessary and expensive for what it was meant to do
