Now that the dust has settled, did modern micro-compacts definitively settle the CCW debate? What more innovation can be made?
high capacity revolvers
>>65200662Micro compacts only won against the single stack guns that preceded them in the market segment of "people who are too lazy / retarded to carry a normal size gun". I have little to no interest in them because most of them are simply too small for me to get consistent support hand contact, and I have no issue carrying a standard size compact or full size gun. If they were actually as good as a compact / full size gun, you'd see them in duty / competitive settings.
i'm just kinda tired of the ccw debate desuliterally who cares, i'm unlikely to ever need my gun anyways so i'm gonna go with something comfyin winter time it's a gen 2 g19 (I don't know why an ancient gen 2, feels good)in summer time it's a g42 particularly since like 2018-2020 or so, it feels like there's no major developments and everything has just been gun companies trying to tell me what i need idk where i'm going with this but this hobby feels burnt out
>>65201094nobody said they're "as good' you fucking dishonest queer. it fills a different role. you can try all sorts of concealment tricks with a full sized gun but at the end of the day the subcompact is smaller and fits into more peoples daily lives more comfortably. I mean yeah im sure anyone could strap a fucking 1911 to their hip and carry OWB but thats not the point
>>65201094Full size handguns are a meme for security guards. You look like an obvious ccw boy scout carrying one and are no more effective than the dude pocket carrying a .32. No you won't use those extra mags and the red dot is useless cause you'll be point shooting but have fun larping at the range!
>>65201117Maybe don't start your fucking post asking "did modern micro-compacts definitively settle the CCW debate" then. It reads like every other micro compact defense force post, where lazy / fat people who can't be assed to wear a real belt (or are too fat to do so) and learn to conceal a normal size gun cope for only EDC-ing a modern day version of a whore's derringer.I'll give a pass to people who work in extremely non-permissive environments, but otherwise, carrying one of these stupid things *daily* is a huge indicator you're a lazy fuck.
>>65200662They suck, most are too big for the pocket and the ones small enough are mogged by any j frame, p32 or similarly micro .380. Idk why 9mmlets refuse to adapt
>>65201123I've yet to be "made" carrying either a full size, or standard size compact pistol. Sounds like you need to lose weight / dress according to what you're carrying. >the red dot is useless cause you'll be point shootingSounds like you lack practical shooting skills and are coping about your inability to perform to a realistic standard. Nice job outing yourself, faggot.
>>65201105gun sales went CRAZY during lockdowns and shit. manufacturers have been trying to chase that high for years. come to find out people have everything they need.
>>65200662bodyguard 2.0 settled the ccw debate for me personallyi'll never need to carry anything else and .380 fmj = 9mm fmj against a human target and i'm not wasting money on hollowpoints
>>65201142You get made everywhere you go because of how you dress, regardless of whether you print. You can try to justify your autism with an arbitrary "I'm not lazy because I dress like an off duty cop" argument but you are a larping nutjob and everyone can tell that within .0001 seconds of coming into contact with you.
>>65201133Nta but I wear a Galco gun belt and still edc my P365, who the hell wants to carry the bulk and weight of a G19 or 1911 every day? I carry every time I step out of the house but only carry my 1911 for quick walks at night because I get to larp as a gunslinger with a big iron for the 5 minutes it takes my dog to shit, carrying it through an entire workday is miserable.
>>65201105Pretty much. I carry a kahr mk9 in my pocket 12 months out of the year and carry with it on my side one of three other guns when it isnt swamp ass weather. And the kahr is one of my better pistols to shoot for accuracy. X ring all day everyday. I dont even bother with those pinky extention mods.
>>65201133OP here, I would never be so rude to someone who decided to post in my thread
>>65201094I generally agree with you, CC'd a fullsize for years. These days I live in a hot as fuck place, and its easy for me to just rock a g43, though I still carry a larger handgun during winter/fall (usually a CZ P01, still not fullsize but winter is like 80 degrees here.)
>>65201105This is a sign of maturity with all this shit in my opinion. Do what is best for you all else be damned. I'm trying to convince my friend to stop buys shit he doesn't need for hypothetical scenarios.
>>65201117I lot of creatures have said they're just as good; most of them are guntubers.
>>65201506Model 60-15 in a pocket holster. If I die cause I need a dot, laser, optic, light, or more bullets feel free to say I told ya so.
>>65200662>Now that the dust has settled, did modern micro-compacts definitively settle the CCW debate?Yeah, they "settled" that micro and sub compacts are fucking retarded, and carrying anything smaller than a regular ol' compact makes you stupid consoomer.
>>65201133>It reads like every other Reddit postftfy
>>65201105I partied with some Hondurans in the back yard the other night and after they took my bottled in bond bourbon to their place I was apprehensive. When my phone snuck out into their couch and they turned it off after I called it I was concerned. In my experience pounding on a door with one hand with no shirt and a quality firearm such as the Ruger SR9c tucked into your shorts with a 2 lb ballpeen hammer in the other hand your phone magically turns on again. If casings are a concern bring a revolver.
>>65201593>carrying anything smaller than a regular ol' compact makes you stupid consoomerSaid the Glock 19 owner, casually, while in pain from carrying a consumer product brick in their pants
>>65201622nice neighborhood >>65201593>consoomerIf ? you're proficient with deploying/shooting a CC pistol and its design/feel/configuration/whatever encourages you to be so and also carry, conceal it regularly + consistently—and a subcompact, micro size class gun is what helps you do that effectively, then fine. Concur with the anon upthread: Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 is game changer of decades for micro semiautos, the first vest pocket pistol that people with medium sized hands can fr get a full grasp on. Dozens of tiny, subcompact handguns were instantaneously rendered obsolete by it.
>>65200662>What more innovation can be madeIndifference to width and midgets to increase capacity. Indifference to length to chamber silly things like 44s and 357 mag in a semiauto. Asymmetric placement of trigger to accommodate the above if required.
>>65201665>widthIn CC pistols that's what brought on the whole wave of reversion-to-single-stack and other reduce-the-width designs, adaptations a couple decades agoCompact (mostly just a shorter-barrel variant of full) and full size pistols are, still today, compact and full size pistols
I like pocket pistols because I just put then in my pocket and go about my day, I forget it's there half the time BUT it's always there. How often and I going to be bothered to strap a full size pistol on going to buy more toilet paper or even take it out of my glove box pulling into a gas station. It's easy to have on you all the time and it's a hell of a lot better then the gun I left in my car if the day comes I ever need to use it.

>>65201094>>65201140>>65201363>>65201845I truly love pocket carrying my bodyguard 2.0, and occasionally my j frame. I'm not even convinced that .380 is significantly worse than 9mm with modern ammunition. Stuff like Federal hydra shok deep has both good penetration and expansion, and you can still hit fast and accurate follow up shots with .380 just like 9mm. If I was gonna carry a bigger gun in a holster, like when I'm hiking, then I'd just jump to 10mm.
>>65201400>>65201123Been wearing a full size for years. Almost nobody notices, and those that do don't care. Wear the gun that is comfortable for you, don't worry about if someone's gonna see a vague imprint if you aren't wearing a maternity shirt.
