In 8 years Soviet Union built 35 Tupolev TU-160s. In 35 years Russia has built..... 6.
>>65206215Lost knowledge and corruption.
>>65206215Because the SU pretended that it had money while Russia simply flat out doesn't have money
>>65206215drugs, corruption, AIDS, brain drain
>>65206215Let's see>had the resources and manpower of multiple nations>could just cook the books harder and take out loans they'd never pay back because lol try getting a commie to pay denbts>pressing need because oh sweet Lenin in the great commune in the sky NATO is so ready to tear us a new assholeOr in other words, the same reasons modern Russia can't do anything old Yun Yun could
Is this AI? Why are the numbers jumbled in back?
>>65206215The Soviets, and by extension the Russians, never mastered the switch to solid state electronics and more advanced materials which most modern weapons are heavily reliant upon.Even today the Russians are decent at weapons that are mostly steel and gunpowder. They make a decent number of shells and tank hulls, but are heavily dependent on foreign supply chains for electronics and more advanced composite materials. All this is also exacerbated by incredible corruption and the post-Soviet brain drain.
>>65206261Yeah, it's AI.
>>65206272>never mastered the switch to solid state electronicsEven their eastern European serf states built copies of western CPUs in the 1980s
>>65206296The Soviets were one of the few empires where its client states were more developed than the metropole.
>Soviet Union equipment>look inside>Ukrainian
>>65206261AI is trying to find it's place in forums and socials, so it's decided generic place-holder images are good enough.
>>65206261Look at the workers in the foreground. Not a single one looks natural.
>>65206291I just found that image when I searched for the TU-160. Funnily enough it looks like it's from a Russian propaganda AI video where they talk how the TU-160 is back in mass production.
>>65206315The workers on the platform near the tail are interesting, starts as two vaguely human shaped entities, which merge into one misshapen, then they just become a black vertical line
>>65206309Kekhttps://unn.ua/en/news/russia-uses-tu-160-bombers-that-ukraine-gave-it-in-the-late-90s-mass-media
>>65206215The Soviets were so less skilled at warfare than just Russia alone that they needed 5.8 times the weapons to get the job done.
>>65206261Where is all of the trash and shit strewn about? Things that should be in the way and such?
>>65206215>USSR built multiple industrial centers in areas outside of modern day Russia>Russia is somehow even more corrupt than the USSR to a comical degree which makes building shit even harder, more time consuming, and less efficeint>the various talent that was in the USSR either left for better economic opportunities, wanting to escape political reprisals for saying Putin is a corrupt retard, or have gotten old and retired/died>above problems also make it much harder to train a new generation to have the necessary skills to keep up production>in recent times sanctions have also made it harder to get key materials to build more
>>65206215Small independent global military superpower, please understand.
>>65206215The answer to every "why can't Russia do (thing that the USSR did)" question is "they're fucking broke and everyone with two braincells to scrape together left Russia long ago" Anon.
>>65206215socialism vs. capitalism.US military is the most socialized organization in human history. When the US collapses beyond all recognizability, the military will remain. Unless people like in Pic have their way....
>>65206296The Soviets tried really, really hard to not do that because they had dreams of "Soviet computing" being more than just copycats. They wanted to build their own computing architecture from the ground up. Of course, they ended up just making IBM compatibles in the end like literally everyone else on the planet.
>>65206215>call plane backfire bomber>plane backfiresIt is a mystery.
>>65206215Putin could start a kickstarter to fund them, some guys turn up and kick you until you give them money for the TU-160 they're building
>>65206309That's what really screwed over Russia. They're larping as some continuation of the soviet union but they lost some of their most important technological hubs, especially ukraine.
>>65206215The USSR gave up its industry in its dying days to produce oil, and then it got really addicted to how much other nations were willing to pay for its oil compared to its machines. Then, oil prices crashed and the USSR flopped. Russia can still make oil, but its industrial capacity went to shit and never recovered. It would take considerable investment into education and maybe some Chinese engineers to repair what Putin let stagnate.
>>65206215the USSR was a doughnut empire. they sucked the wealth from their combloc minions without actually using that wealth to make themselves more powerful. Su-25s were made in Georgia, Tanks made in Ukraine, Ambulances in Latvia, Dump trucks in Belarus, etc. etc. so when the wall came down they lost their empire and their ability to produce the heavy equipment they used to police said empire
>>65206272They can only build about 200 T-90M hulls a year and nothing else, all other tanks they produce are refurbished existing tanks
>>65206471russia absolutely isn't more corrupt than USSR. communist systems allow for more venues and provide even more perverse incentives for corruption. it's just more visible with modern russia, especially with the war expoosing the affect on the military
>>65206215USSR, besides having larger population etc. spent about 15-25% of its GDP on military.
