Has anyone ever fucked up a handload and had a round stuck in their barrel on a loading gate revolver? The one I'm dealing with right now is lodged between the cylinder and the barrel and I can't remove the cylinder. I'm new to guns and I don't want to force anything in or out but if that's what it tajes I'm willing. It happened on the 5th round so there's still a live round in the cylinder.
Ooo - can't send it back to Ruger with a round stuck in it.Find the oldest man who is a gunsmith you can reach by private car. Lay weapon on counter, drop trousers, smear Vasoline on butthole and wait your turn.
>>65206393Many moons ago I did exactly that to a .30 Carbine Blackhawk. Former friend of mine same age as graduated Smithing School and was an Armorer for our Rather Large Police Force. He took my gun to work with him - and fatally shot the other armorer while dicking with it. Bye bye, gun, bye bye friend, bye bye the belief that anyone else can ever do anything i can't do myself. Except Ruger. Also except private older than dirt Real Gunsmiths.
>>65206393Like partially in the forcing cone or out of time? My gut reaction is to put either a brass rod or a good hardwood dowel down the barrel and drive it down into the cylinder until you get some shake, then put the gun on a couple blocks and tap the cylinder out with a deadblow or nylon faced hammer if you can't get it to come out on its own. If it's not in the forcing cone, see if you can get a very fine punch or flathead and break it up. Good luck man.>round in the cylinderIt'll be fine, there's nothing to impact the primer on the back face.
>>65206393The barrels unscrew on those thing if you know how. Also i bet since it was the fifth round that the previous four slugs are stuck in the barrel stopping #5 from clearing cylinder.Dumb fucker - when shooting handloads - do it at something so you can see the bullet impact.AND get you a wooden dowel and mark how deep muzzle to rear of chamber it.
You just use a brass/aluminium rod and hammer the bullet back into the cylinder.
>>65206462Holy fuck
>>65206473No, I stopped shooting immediately after I heard the funny sound. I'm retarded, but not THAT retarded.>>65206466Thanks man. I'll try the rod a bit later. Scary shit but I'll see what I can do, it seems like ut might be stuck in the forcing cone.
>>65206393Take a picture and post it. But first thought is secure the hammer (which actually on a redhawk you probably don't need to worry too much about because it has a transfer bar), and ram it out with something long and softer than steel.
