I don't know where the fuck to talk about this, but I live in Australia. My mother told me something that alarmed me this evening, something she's never told me before and even she forgot about, it was after watching some show that had some stuff about swords in it. Anyway, she's a 70 year old boomer and she suddenly recounted:Her father and his mate she saw as a child hiding a strange sword inside the roof of her then parents house in Wagga Wagga, must've been in the early 60's since she was still a child. She said it looked just like something like pic related. It was something they said they got from the war and was a treasure and people are looking for it and one day it'll be worth alot of money. Her father died in 1970 and they moved from that house in the late 70's. She forgot all about it and it seems it's possible everyone else did too. She asked her mother, my nan about it and she never even knew about this.I asked my nan if she remembered who her dad's American friend was and she said his surname was Cole but she couldn't remember his name. She then told me something that really freaked me out, the military base just outside Wagga where they're from is the main recruitment base. She said her husband and the American met there through a US involvement during the end of WW2.I went looking into any well known missing japanese swords and found out about the Honjo Masamune. It says it was turned into a US sgt called "Coldy Bimore". Linguists believe this is actually "Cole D.B. Moore".This is where I started freaking the fuck out and showed my nan this name and she immediately said "Oh, his was Seymour Cole, that's backwards".The house they lived in is still in there but has had had someone else living in it since. I don't want to give any info personal out because I'm worried someone's actually going to beat me to the punch, but I now have reason to believe possibly the Honjo Masamune is hidden in a roof in bumfuck nowhere Australia.
sounds like it belongs to the spiders now.
If you're not trolling and actually have high confidence, the obvious answer is to just go break into their house
>>65213185I think I'm genuinely going to do this.My nan said after he died they sold the house and left and moved to the other side of town but the old lady still lives there by herself.I could just go over there and tell her the whole story but idk who she is and she could have a karen daughter who she tells this to who swoops in.Even if it's not this Masamune sword it's very clearly a japanese sword at the very least and is surely worth something if it's a big deal.If this ends up being legit you may see this on the news later, I'll assess the house first and find out first whats going on.
>>65213212look, I'm not a lawyer, and I don't usually try to talk people down from ledges on 4chan. but the best thing to do is 100% break into that house and take the sword. it's your destiny.
>>65213212yeah >>65213222 is right (trips confirm) and also you should do it while on meth, for good measure
>>65213170>>65213212OP listen to me very carefully. Do NOT pretend to be an exterminator.Do NOT pretend to give out free "examinations" in the neighborhood.Do NOT go to the local hardware store and buy some disposable coveralls and a face mask for 15 bucks.Do NOT cover your tracks by also offering to do the neighbor's houses. DON'T do that. Do NOTPut a giant spider of a sticker on your car to make it look more legit.Real talk how sad would it be if you walk in and the sword is just on the guy's wall as a curiosity he found in his attic.
>>65213170>Aussie Samuraifund it hollywood
>>65213262Wow. That sounds like a really good idea that, unfortunately, OP definitely cannot and should not do, along with a bogus story of termites down the block
>>65213170Probably just a gunto. Not exactly rare, but still worth good money to the right buyer.
>>65213212Don't listen to the tards, go there with your grandma to discuss this with the house's new owner and ask if you can take a look, offer her some money and be nice about it and she'll let you have it.
>>65213360>informing a total stranger that the ultimate sword is already in their possession, materially and legallyyeah, I can't see any way THAT could go wrong. I can tell you've never seen the inside of a sword dojo in your fucking life. Mark my words, once the homeowner's greedy hands touch that unstoppable blade, the town will be buried in an apple's depth of innocent blood.
>>65213360Seriously. Just be like"Oh we're having a memorial for my grandpa, and we think he might have left some old letters or keepsakes up there"Some old lady isn't gonna fight you for an old sword.
Monitoring this thread VERY closely. You have to do it OP, the soul of 日本 may be at stake.
>>65213170>she's a 70 year old boomerTell me more, she sounds kinda hot.
Do you people have zero social skills?>>65213360>>65213442This. Just a generic and polite request. "I think he may have left a memento in the attic". >>65213439>thinking you have to tell them all the detailsRetard.
Feds are monitizing this bread boys.
>>65213222I am a lawyer, and also black, and I support this is a few ways; break in and take it.It's a fuckin ninja sword, you'll HAVE to do ninja shit if you're involved. Challenge the old lady to a duel.
>>652133215 years ago. Now it is.
>>65213360If for some reason you decide not to break in, this is a solid 2nd option. Just tell them its a sword worth a few hundred bucks at most and offer them a token amount.
>>65213611Australian feds are too busy going after youtubers and touching kids to bother. Just be careful that the autistic jap you sell it to doesn't go yapping to the Aussie or Jap feds.
What is with this dude and his bloviated AI OP posts.
>>65213442That's the right way, but>AustraliaCan you even have swords like this there? Won't police come and take it from you if you try to sell it? Grandma can mention to someone that some funny guy came and took his grandma sword from her attic, and that someone can tell the cops.
late 70s was almost 50 years agonew owner wont let you in willingly because they have 50 years worth of keepsakes stored up there and if it hasnt been found already than that means your going to have to move shit around and pull up boards, and if it is still up there it's probably rusted as shit
>>652131701. Burn the house down2. The sword was folded 100000 times. It will survive the fire3. Bonus: it will absorb the tortured burning souls of the house occupants
>>65213170>>65213212G'day miss, me nan said me gramps old world war 2 stuff mightve been left in your attic, im wanting to show it in a museum if its still there plus it would mean much to us if we could get to it. would you mind if I have a peek? Ill spot you a tenner and a vegemite sandwich for the disturbance.
>>65213170This is your destiny. You do not have a choice. You must get this sword.
>>65213170OP if you actually get the sword make public demands for hiroyuki to delete /trash/ or give you Verified capcode or somethingimagine an ancient artifact getting sold for shitposting points
>>65214993This
>>65214993>>65214995He needs to ask him to delete /pol/ /news/ and /lgbt/. Then all will be right again.
>>65213212Just tell them it's a lost family heirloom that your mother remembered may have been hidden in the attic and you'd like to look for it in case she's right. No need to let on that it might be something valuable. For all they know you might not even know exactly what it is aside from that it's important to your family.
>>65215000>The final act of Muramasa's greatest blade will be to cut through 4chan, harming only the evil boards while leaving the pure boards untouchedYou must do this OP. Hold the sword hostage. Threaten Hiromoot with it's destruction if your demands are not met. Offer to return the sword to Nihon if they are.

>>65215000do you not understand the point of containment boards?the people don't just leave when the board is removed
>>65213212its probably some shitty, rusty old shin gunto, the nips would have no reason to hide a national treasure in Australia.
>>65214795>I'll wrangle any crocs in me way in the meanwhile. yea nah yea>and a case of bitters?
>>65215496Containment boards only work when mods/jannies, y'know, try to contain shit to those boards.
>>65215000And /trash/. Those freaks need to be put down, sorry to any /hmofa/gs lurking ITT, because I know a number of you are /k/ommandos, too.>>65215496Containment boards require a global rule to keep their content within, and mods willing to be zero tolerance on it. Bronies are no longer the menace they once were, yet GR15 remains just as effective today as it did when /mlp/ was created. /pol/, /news/ and /lgbt/ have no such global rule, and the people they attract spread further into the site, with only a few of them integrating well. /lgbt/ and /pol/ also both have, like /trash/, a nasty habit of incubating the sorts of communities and internet subcultures that later get talked about in video essays and court documents. If the mods had it to do over again, do you think they would let /qa/ get as far as it did before they sat on it?
>>65213170>>65213212Any updates? Its been almost an entire day
>>65213170>Who was phone?
>>65213170>strange swordLet me stop you there. Women know NOTHING about weapons. They don't know if something is "strange" or "normal". I collected swords when I lived in Japan for a long time, and the Japanese women in my family arbitrarily thought that some were bizarre, despite the fact that like, 99.9999% of Japanese swords all look practically identical. Conversely, in the US, my Japanese wife thinks that all guns are "black Ls", and she can't tell my black 92fs from my stainless ppk.Tl/dr women are fucking stupid, do not listen to them when it comes to weapons. What she saw was a normal ass sword that someone put in the attic. If it was "from the war" it was a guntō, and probably worth very little.
>>65213170You have my blessing. Fulfil your destiny, my son.

>>65213170>hiding a strange sword inside the roof of her then parents house in Wagga Wagga>>65213212I say go talk to the current owner, and tell them that your grandfather left a war trophy sword in their attic, but don't mention what it could be, only that it exists. You're going to need to have consent to find this thing, unless you know exactly where it is, because it can take a deceptively long time.I unfortunately have experience with this, my crazy grandpa hid revolvers in multiple places in his attic. After he passed, it took me several months to find them all, and to this day I'm not sure I got everything. I had to go over every inch of the attic with a metal detector, sometimes multiple passes, and deal with many false positives. I'm glad I did it, but God did it fucking suck.Protip for future secret squirrels right there - if you hide shit in your walls or roofs, have a plan to notify your loved ones specifically and explicitly where that shit is when you pass.I know when my old man goes I'm going to have to do the same thing, he's already told me he put a few guns and silver bars in the walls and won't say where.I'm getting angry just thinking about it.
>>65215965>my crazy grandpa hid revolvers in multiple places in his atticMe but with my bathroom guns
>>65215496the only containment board to actuallly CONTAIN anything is /mlp/, /pol/ is a containment failure that should have stayed dead
>>65215965Kinda defeats the purpose if others know about it. You can only tell a trusted soul when you're on death's door, but that bears the risk that there's no one around when you die, and the stuff is lost to the zone.>>65216072Do you have the shower knife, too?
>>65216293simple way of doing it is hiding the location in your will
>>65216293they could just write it down and put it in a sealed envelope to be only opened upon their death
>>65216293>Kinda defeats the purpose if others know about it.Yeah that makes sense if I'm anyone else aside from his goddamn son.I have keys to his house and the codes to his safe as it is, I went into it and grabbed his Winchester 410 to teach my kid how to shoot clays last month, and he wasn't even in the goddamn state when I did it. I don't care that he's got this genetic inclination to seal shit away for no good reason (this isn't Europe, shit is stable, and he's not a felon), I just want him to say "yeah it's behind the fridge!" so I don't have to play whack-a-mole a million times when he passes because every beep from the detector over a pipe junction might literally be precious metals. Honestly I think he does this to me because of how absolutely insane the last round with my grandpa drove me, and he finds causing me that anxiety really funny.I was literally up there with the detector going over the floors up to the day prior to closing, making sure I got everything I could.
