I learned this years ago when 22plinkster (a guy known for constantly shooting his .22) made a collab with GY6 vids (a guy known for shooting powerful handguns) and .22 Plinkster could shoot the Desert Eagle better than the owner of the Desert Eagle who had owned it for years and still flinched whenever he shot it.
I got myself a $400 Snowpeak PP20 for dirt cheap practice, $4-5 for 250 pellets. It's a good enough Chinese knockoff of the Steyr LP10. I shoot inside my house across the hallway.
