Why do Russians paint their aircraft while Americans mostly keep theirs grey?
>>
>>65220493
Russian enemies have blue skies, so their jets are blue to blend in.
American enemies have gray skies, so their jets are gray to blend in.
>>

This nigga don’t know about magram
>>
Because Russians do not have a serious military
The west uses grey because the paint is designed to reduce emissibility and to reduce radar reflection and is decent against the horizon in visual bands.

Russia uses blue because they act like it's 1960 and they think visual camoflauge from the ground against the sky has any real value in an age of thermal cameras.

Drones use white because it's the lightest color by weight, some stealth drones use black because it absorbs more wavelengths.

daytime only air force, please understand

Sky blue has a very special meaning to russians.
It's why VDV berets are the same color as well
>>
>>65220493
US uses special expensive paint that they continuously reapply to provide better stealth. Russia is way to lazy, cheap, corrupt for that kind of shit.
>>
>>65220838
Does modern regular grey dope for shit like F-15 and F-16s actually have any radar absorbing properties?
I thought that was just the RAM used on the actual stealth planes
>>
>>65220849
No. RAM paint isn't used for that, wouldn't be useful for that and doesn't really work that way anyway. This thread is filled with bots. This whole board is filled with bots right now. I have no idea what's going on.

The F-15EX Eagle II uses RAM paint.
>>

What a slut
>>
>>65220493
Don't know about the Russians, but the US paints its planes grayish because of studies they did in the 60s and 70s that showed that dull grayish colors are the best for camouflage.
>>
>>65220493
They're only good for air shows so they may as well paint them in pretty colors.
>>
>>65221297
Yet the E doesn't. Almost like there's no point using RAM without design accommodations.
