Are the chinese gas Masks any good?
I heard some have this weird thing of being able to take both GOST and NATO. And the chinese filters that are sold online useable on cold war era soviet gas masks

Fit and seal are usually ok, filters are a wild west.

masks aren't 100% standardized, even with the standards, so masks you wouldn't expect and contrary to labeling will fit filters they really shouldn't. you may or may not be getting a proper seal on that filter, so the best course of action is to buy a mask with its issue filters or made by the same manufacturer as the mask. i would not trust any chinese filter to be less hazardous than anything i might be protecting against.

What good is a masked up dog to you? It can't smell or bite.

They sell filters with leaking charcoal

I wouldn't bother unless it's a more recent model, even then for that price you could buy a used M40, C50, or an OM-90 (what mira overprices as the CM-7M)

You can check if the mask is any good by putting some trithioacetone in a small crucible and heating it up with a propane torch. Thioacetone isn't particularly toxic but you'll know very quickly if your mask has any leaks.

What's the best gost to 40mm adapters?
>>
>>65230551
just buy a NATO mask

So you don't know?

I briefly worked in an agency that organized worldwide conferences for CBRNE and medical disaster management, we had one seminar held by an American doctor that in the middle of his lecture had to run into a bunker since he was helping the Ukes in Kyiv. Another time one of our lecturers had such shit internet I assume he lived in a literal mud hut.

you should probably just buy one yourself and put an o-ring in it

3d print one*
FUCK

I'm legitimately not aware of an actually GOOD adapter on the market. Your best bet for using NATO filters is to just buy a NATO mask. They're better overall than whatever combloc surplus you're wanting to use anyways

who avon?

>>65230551
there was a /gmg/ affiliated company that made good ones but that was several years ago and they don't seem to be around anymore.

3d printed mask stuff is generally dogshit like pic related, and even if your printer is so dialed in you can't even see layer lines your print probably still won't be watertight let alone airtight.

it was the Nos Exa Group and they made one that looked like this
