Lets say, you hypothetically have 20 AAA systems to cover your stuff, there's not much left in the Black Sea, but there's enough to warrant putting 10 there
The other 10 are in the Baltic to protect the export terminals, navy and tankers

If I keep punching you in the Baltic Sea, at some point you're going to need to pull some of your 10 AAA systems off to go defend those expensive export terminals keeping your economy on life support.
So they send 5 more up to the Baltic region as now they're blowing up naval bases full of munitions too
That just leaves 5 in the Black Sea
I can now send a whole heap of shit down to the Black Sea with minimal opposition- this affects
>theatre supply lines
>shipping
>Black Sea ports
>refineries
>denial of movement

Not only that, it prevents you from allocating those spare AAA systems you might have to defend other assets inside Russia like important pumping stations, chemical works, electrical factories and vehicle plants
So while you might try to double guess and predict were the next drone swarm is going, the tyranny of distance and the tempo of how you can allocate your agency of defense is no longer yours
