Can current drones actually take out concrete bridges or are they just an annoyance?
>>
>>65228658
5-10 drones per night will stop all traffic for the whole day
it's a solution

Looks like holes to me at 0:28.
Are we one the verge of total logistics death in Crimea?
>>
>>65228658
Yes.
Some of these new fixed wing drones carry pretty fucking big warheads, like a quarter tonne of HE.
One hit in the right spot could cause very serious damage. Several hits in the right spots are potentially enough to collapse the bridge or damage it beyond repair.
Especially if it's a stressed concrete construction. You can't just patch bridges like that.
>>
Not sure, i feel like i need Armchair Warlord's take on this to be sure

time to start hanging the speculators and the kulaks again?
>>
>>65228731
They'll destroy all the fuel to make the tsar look bad!
>>
AFAIK the bridges which connect Crimea to Ukraine aren't that big or strong, so consistent strikes will degrade them over time to the point of not being usable if not out destroy sections.
>>
>>65228716
>like a quarter tonne of HE.
what the fuck?! please give details
>>
>>65228658
OP it has happened several times in this war already. Doesn't matter the size of the payload if you just keep hitting it everyday until its unusable.
>>

Why don't they just relax it? Play some whale music, put on some soothing candlelight, a nice massage with scented oils. Job's a good 'un.

Looks like the bridge is cracked in half.
What's with the drone barrages from the past like few weeks? Did russians lose their AA or Ukies started to mass produce drones? The amount of vids Ukies destroying russian stuff increased substantially.

I really hope this logistical targeting is a prelude to an actual landing along the southern part of the Dnieper river, that would be extremely kino. I miss the Kherson city evacution chaos so much /k/ bros...
>>
>>65228658
It's enough for russia to allow dozens of trucks to sit out in the open as they wait for an opening in the roads. However Ukraine is now finding those truck stops

>>
>>65228806
It seems to me it's the opposite since russians are talking about a new offensive. I think Ukies are trying to thwart russian offensive as much as possible.
>>
>>65228746
Turns out I was a bit off.
The larger ones (like the FP-2) now carry warheads in the >150kg range, not 250kg.
But these drones and their warheads have rapidly been growing larger in the last few years.

There's also the FP-5 Flamingo with its colossal >1 Tonne warhead, but the flamingo is basically a true cruise missile, a BIG one at that, and doesn't count as a mere one-way attack drone.

russia didn't need those bridges
this is a land war, not a truck and bridge war
just pour some concrete on the holes
>>
I guess they are trying to cut enough rebar to compromise the deck? A pothole here or there can be fixed with a sheet of steel, but cutting enough supports takes actual engineering effort make safe again.
>>65228792
I think that is a burst and burning gas pipe and the asphalt is reflecting the heat, that's why it appears cut while it's just a thermal imager effect.
>>
I suddenly have a flashback to when the ukies bombed kherch bridge a few years ago

you can make holes in the concrete, but the rebar is a lot harder

>>
>>65228879
Make enough holes in it and you won't be able to move semis over it. And it's to dangerous to send repair crews because there is a good chance they will also be droned. Would you drive a few tons of cargo over a bridge that looks like Swiss cheese?

I'm not sure about collapsing it but they'll put enough holes in it that you can't drive across.
Well, not to guys run out and put down iron sheets over it but still, that takes a bit and eventually there's not enough left underneath for that to be practical.

I think it's the cost that makes this a viable strategy though.
An FP-5 has a good chance of fucking up the bridge and collapsing spans but for that money, you can use 100 Hornets and that's going to achieve roughly the same result long before you get to your hundredth Hornet and then you've got Hornets left over to go hunt trucks with.

It might also be a riddle in the form of:
>you're a mid-strike drone pilot
>you've spent the last three months hunting logistics
>you're told to cut some bridges to funnel the logistics traffic
>you have a crate of Hornets
>>
>>65228716

Those were FP-2s, they're reaching up to about 150kg I think.
