I wonder if the canards from the F-47 are fully movable
>>65233121is there enough space for a powerful radar in that small flat nose?
>>65233132It could be it uses leading edge arrays and offshores primary air search to a drone or something so it doesn't illuminate itself and has a smaller LPI radar on board. Radiating is kind of not super handy for a 6th gen if you're still taking the stealth pill.
>>65233132Considering it needs to control loyal wingman drones, I'd imagine it has a fairly powerful radar of some kind. Unless the drones themselves are meant to act as the radar
>>65233132If it has proportions similar to the render it should have room for a pretty significant array. Nothing AWACS tier but it won’t be losing out to any fighter currently in service. With the space based AMTI push and some marketing materials from subcontractors showing a notional dorsal communications array there is also the question of just how long the sixth generation would be reliant on onboard sensing as well.
>>65233121>6th gen>canardslmao
>>65233121The Chinese 6-gens look kinda ugly so far but if that spotted prototype's planform is indicative of the F-47, it would seem that the desired characteristics of a 6th-gen fighter simply leads to less aesthetic shapes. Oh well, function over form.
>>65233121werent their flexible wings demonstrators? what's the possibility that they used that tech for the canards?
>>65233121Are the wingtips movable?
>>65233571I imagine the F47 and later J50 prototypes won't have slotted ailerons.
>>65233218>if that spotted prototype's planform is indicative of the F-47, it would seem that the desired characteristics of a 6th-gen fighter simply leads to less aesthetic shapesholy shit an real life homosexual
>>65233121>posting renders derived from an edited picturefor shamewhy do you defile the image of our glorious airborne christmas tree?
>butthurt chinkshill is seething again Grim
>>65233121>air intake on the bottomI hate it.
>>65234199It’s by far the shittiest render I’ve seen of it. He edited the fucking source picture, didn’t model a weapon bay, and the first picture doesn’t even have the canards. I don’t know if ai was involved but it’s definitely slop regardless
loyal wingman with a big radar is just going to tell your enemy what area to scan infrared/visual
>>65233714Judging by how you are physiologically compelled to reply whenever anything Chinese pops up on this board, I feel like the whole seething thing is projection.
Shocked how there aren't more retards complaining about canards on a stealth platform, but since the J-20 has been in service for years and experts have been stating the entire time canards are fine people have finally gotten the message.
>>65233177What's wrong with canards?
>>65235437>What's wrong with canards?lmao theyre for thirdies who haven't mastered spacial modeling and radar absorbing coatings. theres a reason why white countries (The US) have never used them, and euros (pussy nations) almost exclusively
>>65235437>What's wrong with canards?
>>65235440Calling the consortium of nations that developed the Eurofighter "Third World" and the US "white" is so comical it can only be seen in /k/. Also I'd like to note that the Eurofighter (amongst other non-American designs) uses a radar-absorbing coating.
>>65235456>Also I'd like to note that the Eurofighter (amongst other non-American designs) identifies as a 5th gen fighter!!!SURE IT DOES....SURE IT DOES!
>>65235440the F-47 will have canards ;)
>>65235473>the F-47 will have canards ;)no..no it wont, because the US is white, and white countries solved fucking under-stability decades ago while Chang, Vlad and euro-pussy were still slapping canards on everything they could get their filthy hooves onLMAO US jets using canards is about as queer as driving from the right side
Can't tell if trolling or just mentally deficient, and judging by how this is /k/ I think that answers itself.
>>65235501>^he thinks white people use canards in 2026+>verification-not-required
>>65235427>dude i'm not a chinkshill i'm not seething you're projecting :) >continue to falseflag and cry all days long Grim
>>65235486>>65235523This butthurt schizo got his post deleted and now he's on a false flag seething spree lmao
>>65235525I'm a different person than the one you initially responded to, but I'm assuming you're the same person that goes around random threads posting the same "chinkshill mad haha" comment whenever China is even indirectly mentioned.
>>65235539Chinkshills should fuck off /k/ and get the rope, yeah
>>65235456The Eurofighter is total thirdie tech.
>>65235543This place is like Reddit yet somehow even more cringe, so most people fuck off regardless.
>>65235486>yf-23irrelevant to this discussionF-47 is from boeing and will have canardsbut knowing americans, you guys will probably rename them something goofy like >high-precision freedom stabilisers
>>65235580kekthey would call it CANARDCongressionally Approved Nose-mounted Aerodynamic Response Director
Man i don't care what anyone says, i love canards. I think they look cool and futuristic. Like the plane is growing a second pair of wings.
>>65233132no nation has historically prioritized radar aperture to the degree that the US has. F18 array area is greater than eurodorritos, let alone f15/f35/f22. sure, flankers have big arrays, but other than recent sinoflankers, they have early 90s tier electronics at best.which is to say, the us 6th gen will either have a fuckhuge array, of some kind of next gen datasharing integration that will render individual radars much less important.
>>65235450
>>65235287So then it's the perfect distraction.
>>65235440>>65235450So it's just a design that's not in vogue with a couple terminally online 4channelers? Is there any functional reason they are bad?
>>65233571now that's a true 6th gen fighter
>>65235737The canards on the J-20 are dihedral to the main wing, meaning they introduce an additional source of radar reflections at all times, not just when deflecting. If they were completely in line with the wing the rcs impact would be relatively negligible when not deflecting, as if constructed correctly it would be in the “shadow” of the wing so to speak, that is to say really no different from the energy the leading edge of the wing would already reflect. However it’s no simple matter to ensure that happens, it is only true when the canards are locked and not maneuvering, and the geometry of the J-20 vs publicly known principles suggests the Chinese cannot have managed to implement them without negative impact to rcs. There’s a body of research conducted by NASA in the 1990s on this that last I remember is publicly accessible and you can track down if you are so inclined.
>>65235923Thank you for the explanation. Given that both China and the US are using them on their 6th gen fighters, I assume their engineers know something the unemployed basement dwellers here do not.
>>65235662>>65233137I wonder how well a synthetic array distributed between 3-5 loyal wingmen would do at spotting stealth fighters
>>65235437>What's wrong with canards?Thirdies and Euros who don't grasp why a tailless fighter would have canards
>>65236616>Thirdies and Euros who don't grasp why a tailless fighter would have canardsSkill issue
Maybe the Naval variant of the J-50 will have canards?
>>65236659J-50 is a naval figher you dummy
>>65235450They're gay.
>>65236689It's not yet, since It doesn't have folding wings nor does it have launch bar. So as It is right now It is air force only
>>65236540You just still need something to actually control the aircraft. They’re better in terms of signature than vertical tail surfaces, which are still always reflecting no matter how canted, but there are unavoidable rcs impacts. Thrust vectoring can do a lot, but it can’t do everything. So if you want the plane to be able to do anything you will need something kind of deflecting surface, which is always bad in some way for rcs, but since these have higher maneuverability requirements than bombers you can’t get away with hiding them all behind the wing. The funny thing is that the wingtip control surfaces that are being touted as far superior have exactly the same rcs consequences as canards the second they deflect for maneuver.
>>65235437They ugly
>>65235456euroland is browner than america
>>65233132>implying the the radar is in the nose onlythe whole body is the antenna, calling it now
>>65233137Space-based AMTI may be coming within months of Starship completing an orbit and returning to launch site. Check NoiseInSpace's videos for how well even a stock V3's direct-to-cell antenna can perform (on paper) in SAR.
>>65233132>>65238151
>>65236712>>65236659The US has a separate 6th gen program for its naval fighter.
