I'm sorry, it's the truth. Is an Amy all you can be?
>>65233189>Jarhead fails to spell the word "army"Yep, seems right.
>>65233190Oorah
>>65233189How much time have you spent in combat?
>>65233569Zero deployments of course, I'm a proud member of the larpwaffen ms. amy
>>65233569Might've seen some on the TV.
At least (most) soldiers don't have to pull goddamn teeth from their chain of command to go to a school and enhance their MOS proficiency as an E3 - E5. They just ask and if, they're not shitbags, the ones I knew always got a slot.I don't know a single fellow Marine who ever got to attend a school they wanted without putting it as their sole re-enlistment incentive. If it was absolutely required per their rank and billet description cool, otherwise it was go kick rocks til you re-up. Maybe being at a 2 MARDIV unit was just the retarded hand I was dealt from the deck of cards idk. I hope you other guys fared better.T. prior E5
>>65235103I was in charge of a joint service platoon (Army as an E-6 11B, weird unicorn posting). I had Coasties, Marines, Sailors, Soldiers and Airmen under me. The Marine Corps was absolutely by far the worst with sending junior enlisted to any type of school or broadening assignment. The Army and Air Force seemed to be very much "Yeah if you want to go and we can swing it, it'll be done" unless you were a turd. The Navy I have no opinion of because they never expressed desire to go anywhere and whenever they got sent to another place for a school, it was because big Navy mandated they did so. Coasties didn't seem to be "not allowed" to do shit, they just didn't seem to have many optional schools in the first place. At least, the guys in the rates I dealt with.
Thats not even a real german word, a literal translation would be Teufelshunde but even that sounds strange.
>>65233189>literally never won a battle on their own
>>65235115What type of unique posting was this? Any interesting anecdotes?
>>65233189>Occupy land without causing an incident with the locals challange - impossible
>>65235103>>65235115In the US army can you just ask to go to airborne school?
>>65240055yeah. easier to get a “yes” if one or more of the following applies:1. You are at an airborne unit2. Your unit has a slot or can horse trade a slot from some other unit3. You are a good soldier4. You are enlisting for the first time and get it in your contract5. You are reenlisting and get it in your contract6. You are an officer
>>65235103Basically what anon said. The Army rewards performance with cool schools and opportunities. The Marine Corps expects performance and rewards it with less punishment. Both methods get results—probably more consistent results on the USMC side—but I know which makes for a better quality of life. tl;dr Army uses the carrot, Marine Corps uses the stickt. served in both branches
>One dog is known for being bitterly stubborn and an attitude far bigger than their size>The other is a BulldogHonestly the Marines should be represented by Pitbulls, it fits their retarded aggression more.
