How do people like the Kimber 2k11?
Did they ever get over their manufacturing issues?
>>
Long shot but does anyone here have an M9 safariland SLS holster AND a government 1911 here?

I am genuinely wondering if I can just shove my 1911 in an M9 holster and run it. The prices on 92 holsters are at rock bottom and the prices on 1911 holsters are ridiculous. Difference of $90-120.

On my project to convert my Wilson Combat 1911 in .45 to a 2011 double stack .45 it seems successful. After fitting to that JEM frame, 10-8 hammer + EGW sear I have a 4.5-5 pound pull which I’ll tune up a little bit.

My optic plate is a Eleven 71 design EPS plate I had to dremel to fit a RMSC optic but with the 10-8 Glock rear sight on it the BUIS has almost the same sight radius as a Detonics Combat Master.

I ran about 150 rounds of FMJ through it, 75 rounds of JHP without a single malfunction.

4 inch Model 19 (a real one, not one of the new ones) Been shooting mostly .38 specials with the occasional cylinder of 357 mag for fun.
My problems are:

What are the pros and cons of LEM vs DA/SA
>>
>>65237775
LEM is consistently mediocre every shot, like a glawk with a mile of takeup. DA/SA has a learning curve with one heavy DA press followed by superior SA with a decent reset. LEM is for pigs, DA/SA is for professionals.

>>65237775
One type of trigger pull vs two. LEM is for strikerfags who want to holster with a thumb on the hammer

>>65237806
Takeup is irrelevant, especially in this comparison with DA/SA where the DA pull is far more intrusive, upsetting and training-time-consuming than extra takeup on the first shot. The break and reset are normal
>>
>>65237775
As the other anon said, LEM is an attempt to make a single trigger press to appeal to knuckle draggers who can't learn a DA/SA trigger (or rather the agency who needs those knuckle draggers to pass qual).

DA/SA has the most safety, that long deliberate heavy trigger pull does two things. One it makes it mechanically very hard for there to be a ND without extreme negligence. Two it makes there to be a barrier before the use of force, you have to be sure you're pulling the trigger to pull a DA trigger versus a light SA pull. (not really a thing, but people sell that).

The biggest pro to hammer fired guns is the ability to control the hammer when you holster, you can hold it down or jam your finger infront of it if cocked while holstering it. Makes it very hard for there to be an ND/AD.

>>
>>65237775
I have an hk45 with the Lem system and I really like it, it’s the hammer equivalent of the p99s Anti-stress or AS system, the take up initially is da long but with no resistance as the hammer spring is mostly cocked and then it’s like 4-5 pounds or so the last eighth? of an inch or something like that, the reset is sa short but it’s the same state. The only time you get the full heavy long pull is if you didn’t cock the hammer spring by racking the slide or you have a ftf and have to restrike the round.
Lem and the AS are probably my favorite trigger designs personally, doesn’t hurt that they come with the objectively superior paddle mag release either.
Nothing wrong with dasa, have more of them and like them too, but I can get the benefits without the negatives.

Carrying a Mark 23 is one of the worst ideas I've ever heard. You literally just will not.
>>
>>65238049
Why it’s just big not particularly heavy, I’ve CC’d a full size USP and a Desert Eagle, and the weight of the Desert Eagle was the issue, the size as well, but mostly the weight.
>>
>>65238049
Why is it a bad idea? It’s just a longer USP basically. It’s not impossible, I can CC a 5 inch 2011

PX4anon, are there any recommended upgrades for the Compact Carry 2 for an EDC? Internally or externally. Thank you. I'm gonna have the slide get CrN'd shortly

Quads might be backing you up, but I still believe there is a way to make it ergonomic without having to pay royalties to Marvel Comics.
>>

It's not that I don't trust you, it's that I would never actually hang this up so it would be better off with someone else.

He's come a long way. Used to be that his batches would drop every few months and they'd take awhile to sell out. Now they're hot-ticket items that are gone in a blink. Thank God I have like 4 pairs. ;)

Have you tried the original style of target grips? I also wear XL gloves and those target grips are my favorite. Not the shitty Altamont ones.
>>
>>65238181
Yeah, I just got back into RE and I decided now was the time to build out a Samurai Edge. All I need left for a Jill model are the grips and engravings. Who did yours? How long ago? Would you recommend them?

Cz75 compact or po9c?

I don't know how the new one is, but I found the original P-09 to be perfect except for the grip being too skinny and the decocker levers too fat. I know they fixed the decocker levers on the new P-09, but if it has the same skinny grip, I would take the CZ75 Compact.
>>
>>65238230
If you aren't hung up on not having an optic cut and accessory rail, the 75 Compact is downright luxurious to shoot. It's the size of a G19 but shoots like a much bigger gun with the steel frame, the alloy PCR and P01 can't match it. It's slimmer and less top heavy than a P229 or 92 Compact, carries better despite the added weight. The P09C is just a hammer fired P10C, it's fine but there's nothing notable about it.
>>
>>65238255
>>65238251
Okay, and taking that into account, how about the po1 compact?
>>
>>65238230
A few years ago I would have slapped myself for saying this but try the p09c. Even though the 75c is a decent size for cc it's heavier than I would like. I don't act as comfortable or natural when I have a three pound brick on my hip. Especially after long periods of time.
>>
>>65238213
Damn, $600 is steep. Might have to make it a Christmas gift to myself.
>>
>>65238264
There's less than a 2oz weight difference between those two, so that's just going to come down to a preference in ergos and aesthetics. If you want a boxy polymer gun that supports an optic out of the box and isn't a Glock, the P09C is made for you. If you just love the 75 and want one to carry, the P09C isn't going to scratch that itch.

Yeah that stuff is good. I tried a few of the Willets when I worked at a liquor store but some of it was out of my price range. I didn't have dibs because we still had to make customers happy but I got access to a lot of stuff that never made it to the floor.

Which Beretta is the most berretaer of all Berettas, realistically speaking ? I'd like a Brigadier 92 Samurai Edge but it's unobtainium in Europe without infinite money, time and hoops to go through. I'm slowly starting to consider a M9A3 or M9A4 or even M9A2 plus a threaded barrel. Or a PX4CC2, that gun looks nice, even if out of stock here for the moment. Let's say I will own a single Beretta, must be the one. Btw I wonder which one between the PX4CC2 and USP9c is the coolest.

I dont dislike it, what are the advantages over a shield plus/striker fired? Just the safety?
>>
>>65239378
>Just the safety?
Better trigger, just as safe.
I'd rather get a new M&P 9 Compact over the shield desu though. The shield will work but it's never the best option.
>>
>>65239378
The exposed hammer of the CSX means you can thumb the hammer while holstering it, so if some how if the manual safety was disengaged, the trigger safety disengaged, you still prevent the gun from going off when holstering

It’s also made of aluminum and not polymer like the Shield.
