this thread won't work because it is a twitter screenshot

How would you hold it in that position while reloading it?
>>
Cause a large moving joint is a major weak point retard
>>
>>65240475
>break-action but more complicated for absolutely no benefit
>>
>>65240475
The artist who posted that already said it was a joke get off my fucking board with this shit !!!!!
>>
A potentially imagined benefit of the double hinge would be folding all the way 180° for compact storage, but that's not really any better than the ~150° a normal break action can do.

As >>65240564 said it's just a break action with an extra joint. It'd work, but would be heavier and longer with no real benefits.
>>
because it's just a drawing you dummy.
>>
>>65240475

We have this thing called break action that doesn't look nearly as retarded as this.

You can BASICALLY do this, with toggle locks (so called 'knee-joint' mechanisms), like you'd see on the early Winchester/Henry rifles (manual repeater), the Luger (semi-automatic pistol), the Maxim/Vickers guns (machineguns), a few cannons, etc.

However, you can't just let the 'joints' sit there and freeball, there has to be something that aligns and supports them so that they stay put, so that the action, you know, stays locked, and that the pressure doesn't take the path of least resistance all over you, like a LiveLeak vid.

Also, that would be a REALLY inefficient and janky take on a toggle lock, Hugo Borchardt, who designed the Borchardt pistol (which Georg Luger turned into the sleeker and more practical Luger pistol), already made toggle-locked single-shot target shooting rifles, and they look like this.

Pic related is the closest (non-retarded) thing to the notion in OP's image, because otherwise it's just a needlessly complicated and much less good take on a simple break action.

It took the french to perfect them though.

Huh, never seen that one before, very interesting.

Though I feel that the Luger pistol is the true apex of toggle-locked firearms, it was so refined and perfectly adapted for the purpose of a handgun that you could possibly make a toggle-lock, and for a couple of years, was the best service pistol in the world.
>>
>>65241455
How about the gas operated Winchester toggle lock?
This is ~20 years after Borchardt had left.

Nissan recently started making hinged crank effectively break action engines and they are some of the biggest pieces of shit ever made

Forgot pic.
>>
>>65240475
Added complexity to a system that already works.
It would probably work but longevity would be a concern considering the stress added to yet another joint
>>
>>65240672
>It'd work, but would be heavier and longer with no real benefits.
Ability to reload while prone
>>
>>65241455
There is NOTHING more comfortable you can hold in your hand than a Luger, not even titties are as comfortable
>>
>>65241787
My prother in christ, if you cannot figure out how to reload a break action while prone, there is no hope for you.
>>
>>65241868
Bold claim.
>>
>>65241891
Without having to roll over
>>
>>65240475
A rolling block but worse?
>>
>>65241924
Rolling blocks are super simple and bombproof, OP's idea is adding a joint to a break-action for no explained reason.
>>
>>65241787
>We spent $2 billion inventing the click clack gun because we needed to reload while prone.
>You know you could just rotate the gun and open the action that way if you're lying completely flat. Or just get up very slightly, why exactly are you shooting a shotgun like you need to keep account of the coriolis effect again?
>Anon thrown mysteriously dead from falling down the stairs just outside of military industrial complex. Belgium baffled, more at 11.
>>
>>65241787
Are you one of those people who think you can't work a lever-action while prone?
>>
>>65241991
Love these midway videos
>>
>>65240487
it has stiff hinges
>>
>>65241924
More like a break action but worse. Rolling block is so far ahead of this there's no comparison.
>>
>>65241991
Better than bombproof, rolling blocks are idiot resistant. There's basically no way of loading them the wrong way or causing a jam due to misuse. Worse case scenario, the user tries to set the round off with a rusty nail to the primer and the brass gets stuck in the breach.
>>
>>65241868
Which would you rather put in your mouth
>>
>>65240475
I don't think they meant break action to be literal

A luger certainly feels good, but I raise you a Colt Single Action Army with a plow grip.
