>solves the drone problem
>>65244470No.But pic related firing airburst with APKWS does.
>solves the mechanized warfare problem
>>65244493>Meets American EW
>>65244811enter
>>65244838>solves the gay grenade drone problem 30+ years before it even existed. Apologize.
>>65244493someone needs to make a mr incredible omni droid meme but with drones and every other piece of military equipment
>>65244838>Americans get shit on for blue in blue>Think that with datalink Americans will not expend massive amounts of HE on any return that is not broadcasting code.I genuinely hope you try.
>>65244855we ve seen how effective fiber optics are in lebanon though>extremely low emission>low RCS>can fly extremely low>doesnt broadcast a thing>can manuever around tank armor unlike wire guided missile>has a range of some 50-100 kilometers
>>65244862Lebanon has lots of radar?Lebanon has armor APS?
>>65244855>>65244862>>65244866America will strap claymores to Abrams before letting the world see one get taken out by a drone.
>>65244866>armor APSisrael does have this yes,>radarive seen a few footages of the fpvs going after sensors so the idf probably does have it as wellthen again an fpv can just fly NOE and ignore the aps completely
>>65244862>we ve seen how effective fiber optics are in lebanon thoughThere's been like a dozen videos of success in total? That's not very effective.
>>65244470Certainly Better than Nothing.
>>65244470>solves the drone problem Only against Sneeds, though admittedly it's a better solution than the GDF-009.
>>65244862>low RCSdoubt it but that isnt the problem.trophy isnt engaging those drones because they are to slow for their programming. and if you would change the programming of trophy to engage such slow targets it might engage birds way to often
>>65245440>GDF-009ukraine loves its gepards.way better than any russian aaa because the swiss actually had precision in mind when engineering it and not just throwing a cloud of shells towards the target.hell the 2A38M has different barrel lenghts to increase spread. russians just love shitting shells all over.
>>65244470good job, now you have to build enough to cover a front that is thousands of kilometers wide and 30km deep (at least)
>>65244855Fiber optics aren't emitting you retard
>>65244482These with proximity-fused airburst rounds, interceptor drones, Gepards, effective EW coverage and guided APKWS in all honesty should deal with 90% of the drone problem. Things like lasers and radiological weapons are a big question with regards to being effective since I haven't heard a dime about any of those being in use in Ukraine

>>65245676 >Things like lasers and radiological weapons are a big question with regards to being effective since I haven't heard a dime about any of those being in use in Ukraine From both Emirati and Russian experience, those zhangistani low-power lasers do precisely jack shit to drones. You need BIG NIGGER 100+ kW lasers to actually knock them down. Unfortunately those are a) not actually in use, or even series production, right now; b) proportionally more expensive than the lighter ones; c) pretty much immobile, due to their size and power requirements. As for microwave guns, I don't think anybody has even an experimental one in service. I don't actually know electronics, but I suspect they have even lower range than lasers, and might cause a lot of radiative comms interference.
>>65245515you can try to upgrade Trophy to see the fans spinning sanic fast but that would create other issues
>>65245742Wasn't there that US company that had that Epirus microwave thing? Last I heard, it got sent over to the ME but I'm not sure if that actually happened or not
>>65245742>>65245778Bofors/BAE-systems started working on a directed energy microwave cannon some time around 2007.But I've found very little info about it, mostly dead links and old news articles that only mention surface level stuff.Don't know if that means the project was canceled, or that it was successful enough that further info about the project is classified.Supposedly, these Bofors had the microwave gun working as a laboratory prototype by 2008/2009, with a practical self-contained prototype capable of targeting and shooting down missiles and drones being successfully field tested sometime around 2014/2015. Can't find any info about this system more recent than that.
>>65245778Ah, yea, you're right, the Epirus Leonidas. Didn't see any in-field usage reports.
>>65245672>Fiber optics aren't emittingI assure you, those brushless electric motors spinning at high speed, the ESCs manipulating motor voltage constantly, and the CPU performing the constant calculations needed to keep the drone in the air, all create detectable electrical noise. Not to mention that they're very bright in IR too.
>>65244482Do you mean replacing the gun with a rocket pod full of APKWS or putting APKWS on the 30mm rounds?
>>65245672Still shows up on radar. No IFF response, no mercy!
