So the Ukies have started it. They're training UGV drone teams to do ground assaults.

First the quadrotored hellspawns came and made mechanized war footage extremely sparse, now the UGV drones will come and take the infantry footage.

As the source says:
>"The "Khartiia" Army Corps a of Ukraine's National Guard training for fully robotic assault tactics against frontline positions using ground drones armed with Browning M2 machine guns, without any infantry involvement."

Thoughts? I guess 3 M2's with "legs" and hair camouflage is a pretty fucking formidable force to charge a trench with, but situational awareness & effectiveness in groups is to be seen.

Whatever the case may be on usefulness, I for one will be looking forward to the first unmanned trench assault footage.

Hopefully these things are going to get backed up by fpv drones as well as having a few of these things equipped with rockets/atgms

>Hopefully these things are going to get backed up by fpv drones as well as having a few of these things equipped with rockets/atgms
I'm quite sure that one of the premiere drone units will in fact have some drones and be capable of coordinated combined-arms drone operations.
>>

>no GMG version
Wake up when its here.
>>
>>65247348
So these are the HATO terminators we were warned about.
>>
>>65247402
I mean, if infantry assaults are supported by them, why the the hell not unmanned ones? Doubt they'll stop now.

I'm sure a discreet TOW can be mounted to a model of these, that'd fill the role nicely. Or Kornet if TOW unavailable
>>
>>65247402
obviously, combined unmaned systems warfare
>>
>stop being silly anon real War is nothing like video-games
>the real war:
>>
>>65247348
But how will they stop them from being droned just like every other vehicle? The big benefit here is no human loss although your robots will be a lot more inept at combat than an infanteryman. I can see you arguing that that tradeoff is worth it especially for an army facing manpower shortages, but again how do we give these any form of survivability? They are just standing ducks for everything outside of lucky jukes.
>>
>>65247588
with their own drones and by shooting them
>>
Even if they are not that effective, its going to be a cheap way to drain russian supplies at the front line.
>>
>>65247588
But even then, if you can send a wave of UGV's ahead of the Real Men to soak up all the FPV drones since they can't ignore the UGVs assaulting their trench, maybe that's a trade worth making in Ukies calculus? You'll still need to send the infantry to clean all the nooks and crannies of the bitch. Though, being the brains of the USSR, they'll probably figure out how to shit out these UGVs just like they do other drones and then we'll see just waves of UGVs.
>>
>>65247637
Could be a great way to bait drone operators to revival themselves.
>>
>>65247647
Most definitely, scouts up the ass in the zigger rear's air and then throw some waves of somewhat disposable UGVs (since they really do seem to have a fuck ton of these already, though mostly unarmed) at a trench and see what pops up. Tough job to do with infantry, but with drones, everything is possible. We're talking, at a very conservative estimate, $500,000, in drones to get a zigger drone team? Sounds like a good deal.

Humans on the battlefield as a concept is pretty much over. Whoever has the biggest robot manufacting base will win. And that’s not the USA since they don’t have shit for manufacturing anymore.
>>
>>65248062
USA could dial up manufacturing, but they don't have the raw materials. The main reason USA is completely incompetitive on the cheap drone market is lack of magnets. Right now everyone else buys (most notably both sides of the Ukraine war) from chinks, but USA is developing domestic supply chains for the long term.
>>
>>65247921
Shouldn't have hired the satisfactory scrub.
Put 10k SPM megabase in the job requirements next time.
>>
>>65248079
>USA could dial up manufacturing, but they don't have the raw materials
Its more like the us doesn't want to drive down prices. The US could absolutely dial up manufacturing for defense related items, but the people in charge of the related industries would rather keep prices as high as they are now
>>
>>65247348
What is..... Rpg.
>>
>>65247588
Ukraine generally attempts to establish local drone superiority before conducting offensive action
>>
>>65248103
It's funny when you have to excuse things somehow and you immediately go for corruption or incompetence.

When in reality it's neither of those. It's simply just the physical lack of materials. USA does not have the neodymium supply chains to mass manufacture cheap prop drones without being reliant on China like every major drone player.
>>
>>65247348
these things don't look like they can take more than a few rifle hits. or have the agility to avoid getting flanked.
if these things are successful with zero infantry then I'd assume it's because ziggers have piss poor moral and will stay suppressed at the sound of a MG firing in their general direction.
>>
>>65248136
>US doesn't have the metals
No, the US isn't mining the metals. Let the bugs strip mine their shit and firesale their strategic resources for as long as they want.

>>
>>65248170
God, you're dumber than a sack of rocks.
Leave the retarded greentext implications out if you are trying to post in good faith.
I never said that. I specifically said something to the opposite effect: USA is develing its own domestic supply chains. Which implies they have the stuff, they're just behind China in commercializing it at a scale.
I'll add that USA has been working on establishing their own rare earth supply chains for a long time, it isn't something that was spurred by the sudden emergence of mass drone warfare.
>>
>>65247348
>Think FPV drones ruined war?
No. Just another new weapon, which will be effective in some circumstances, but can be defended against pretty well in others.
It's the cycle of war and technology.

>>65247414
One of those robot dogs with a GMG would be pretty gnarly I suppose, but I don't trust a robot to not be really retarded if you give it operational autonomy, so maybe an actual soldier should man its gun when it's go-time.
