I've spoke to a couple of gun owners about gun dreams.some report being in a life threatening conflict (in a dream). when they go to draw & utilize their side-arm, things go screwy.bullets droop out. the gun malfunctions. you pull the trigger, nothing happens.I've had such dreams on a number of occasions.I've also had dreams where I was successfully able to defend myself. Very strange.Gun owners who buy, shoot once, and let it sit for years likely do not have such dreams.
I knew a retired prosecutor who was a total gun freak.he enjoyed countless dreams where he dealt with the threat. long, drawn out. he also had years worth of dreams of him being unable to successfully utilize the gun.

All my childhood gun dreams were about just having a pile of guns to mess around (and of course I couldn't pull the trigger, ever) with and waking up left me feeling sad that I didn't have a bunch of guns to fondle. Its actually kind of a weird feeling knowing that I achieved my childhood dream of amassing a large-ish collection of firearms. These days when I rarely dream and there is a gun involved I can actually pull the trigger instead of it being an immovable object.

I had a dream I couldn't drop the slide to my EDC M&P Shield and I took it apart and the slide catch was sticky even post cleaning so I cleaned it until it moved freely. My most recent dream I was in a civilian war zone (likely all the ukie combat footage) and I saw a man I percieved to be an enemy or threat through some space in the wall and as he rounded the corner I drew my bedside gun, a Baby Eagle Mk3 in .40 Swisher&Melm. I fired 3 shots rapidly, one striking the crown forward of the temple, second just at the cheek, and the last right behind the ear. All decending to compensate for the rapid 3 shots and he dropped immediately and I woke up.

Last night I had a pretty involved dream. The core of it involved a murder mystery with some potentially supernatural elements and organized crime.At the end, I realized that I had enemy contacts approaching me. Armed negros iirc. I loaded a short barreled AR but could only find an old 20 round GI mag. I shot one center mass with three or four rounds, and taunted him as he died. The only thing unusual about it was that the report was really quiet and the rounds seemed to be very slow. More like an airsoft gun.Usually whenever I fire a gun in a dream I get the 1000lb staplegun trigger pull.
Don't EDC atm but am still a gun nut. The only gun dream/nightmare I remember having like this before VR it was the million pound trigger when I needed it to shoot right the fuck now. Don't think the gun was one I actually owned.If you're having bad dreams get a VR headset and play a lot. Trains your brain to recognize when something's not real which applies to dreams too. I had instantly fully lucid dreams early on and after I stopped (not enough time or space to play) it still varies with most dreams being some level of controllable years later. Nearly every single time it starts as a nightmare it turns into me slaughtering the monsters. I've had a grand total two legitimate nightmares that didn't stop being nightmares halfway through since I first got into it and in one I died. I think the VR also changed how death is handled in my dreams though, you can guess what popped up. I would expect H3VR or other super-autismo gun games to help with the unpullable trigger dreams at minimum.

I enter a generic beige and fluorescent lit office building.I am holding a lever action .357I begin to slowly, calmly, and methodically execute every person inside.They do not react in any way - they simply go on about the automaton behaviors they were engaged in as if nothing was happening.When I shoot them, they slump over their desks and the blood pools slowly, contrasted with the yellowed plastic monotone of everything else in the room.When I run low on ammo, I open their desk drawers and there are loose rounds inside.Once I go up the stairs to the next floor and continue.

Can't remember what they did but it was really REALLY bad and none of them seemed to care. Was getting ready to go full Whitman on the place. Was about to do it when somehow someone tattled and within seconds the whole town was beating down the door. Loaded up a bouncy round, which for some reason I also knew was non-lethal, and went to shoot the first person in the door... FUCK SAFETY'S ON. Flicked that real quick then got the million pound trigger because the first guy in was Rip from Yellowstone (have only watched clips). The rest of the people were held off and scared out just by being aimed at but he sat down at a table and made it clear he was just there to talk me down. Lately, I've been getting kills in my nightmares, but sometimes I'll have a monster or a bear take like, an obscene amount of shots and just not die. Like I'm shooting pillow bullets. I remember having some kind of monster in a headlock and mag dumping a mag into its mouth. For some reason I had like 50 rounds in my 20 round mag, so I just blasted it until I woke up frustrated. It's like doing chip damage in a video game because the enemy is just a high level dude. Annoying.
