Any of you ever had a gun plated? With chrome, nickel or anything really?

Fucked around with nickel electroplating for a while for funsies, plated a satin stainless glonk slide and polished barrel (turned out pretty good) and also I polished and plated a mac upper (little dimples in sheet steel were too deep for the buffing wheel to remove, making it look kinda shitty)

Was given a P08 Luger (60 years ago) with 80% missing finish and weirdly not one pit. Plated it like a 50's car bumper and couldn't even get it reassembled. Ever. Shit-canned it.
Did the same thing with Old Reliable a 1943 Ballester-Molina (1911 clone) that was nice and sloppy and it only took about half the slop out of it, lol. Worked just as good as before.
