Warrior race my ass.

It's super nimble though, plus I'm pretty sure in Star Trek V the guns pivoted both left and down

That looks like a 3D rendered plane though.

It's a picture though, a jpg, 2d by default

The studio broke the wing articulation system after VI, which is why the ones in TNG all had their wings locked to the top except on re-used footage. Then during DS9 they swapped to CG models.

A warrior fights with honor. If the Klingons were to unleash their full power, it would be so overwhelming that no one could stand against it. To win a duel against a crippled Ferengi would bring no honor; how would such a slaughter as a Klingon fleet maneuvering in three dimensions would bring be any better? So the Klingons, noble and upstanding as they are, choose to fight in two dimensions, so their feeble opponents stand a fighting chance.

>put guns as far away as possible from the view point of the people firing it
this is retarded right?
whatever benefits come from this cant be worth it right?

erm akshually if we are getting autistic about space battles it goes to reason that actual engagement distances would be measured in light seconds so nothing mention in this thread would be a problem.

Alternatively people could learn to distinguish works of space fantasy from works of science fiction twisting themselves into a shoot

erm akshually prior to the movies they were consistent about that. Then the TOS "remaster" went and shit that part up, too.

It's because dumbfire phasers and disruptors are cooler!
It's why the Defiant's pahser cannons are the coolest! Fukkin WWII ass dogfighting passes that are so powerful they just obliterate anything they manage to maneuver into their sights!
Rad.

>Imagine limiting your target space to a 2d plane

Anyone remember the TNG space blockade episode with Data as an acting captain and Denise Crosby taking the role of Seska?
>>
>>65260437
Yes
>>
>>65259393
Yeah.
Most teevee and movie space battles look too much like WWII battleship engagements. All operating in one plane like a sea surface, everyone is right side up w.r.t. everyone else. Manuvering is insanely slow compared to any reasonable velocities for interplanetary travel.

Do any of you enjoy Legend of Galactic Heroes?
