WW2 bombers were notoriously inaccurate. They had to compensate by dropping large volumes of bombs in order to have a profound effect. Like in bombing of Hamburg which created a fire storm, Albert Speer said 4 or 5 of that would bring the Third Reich down, but that's not possible because you need a large stockpile of bombs and planes in the first place to create a firestorm in Hamburg.

B. A lot of the economy didn't run on petrol back then. Horses, oxen, and donkeys still made up a meaningful share of draft capacity, even in the military.

The most bizarre thing is, they can fix it all overnight by simply allowing trucks to go on crimea bridge. Yeah, it makes THE MOST HOLY BRIDGE even larger target and increases risk of damage to it significantly, but the situation is dire enough.

Actually hitting your target and KNOWING when you hit your target makes all the difference in the world.

Sure, but if the allies had drones back in the day with real time visual targeting, the war would have been over in less than a year.
>>
>>65259970
A typical lower-end WW2 raid might be 150 tons of bombs, the middle attacks on a major industrial target 2000 tons, and the massive city-destroying history book events like Dresden 4000 tons.

Shahed size drones can do the first one with about 1 ton of drones and the second with about 10 tons.

It was worse even in its own time. The Russian-language internet says generals selected it over the superior Tor for mass production because they liked the guns. The guns are shit, and they're intended for a cold war mission of deterring fighter-jet size targets like a CIWS, not reliably hitting small low RCS drones.

There was a large rush on the stores when the fuel situation first got bad that the shelves were completely empty. Actually hitting what you need to helps. Also bombing of oil refineries was so feared by the Germans that they consigned army group south to its death in Russia just to keep bombers out of range of Romania a bit longer

The oil campaign the United Nations mounted against refineries in Germany was effective in limiting the fuel available there. They mainly failed with the attacks against oil production in Romania.

China does what Russia does. Puts 'Chinese' (or Russian in the case of Russia) into border regions, build up the % of Chinese (or, again, Russian) and when it reaches 15%-25% start talking about persecution and Sinophobia/Russophobia and if there isn't, the FSB make some. Then, the government wags the finger. 'Persecution' rises and then they invade to 'protect their people'. When you've taken the territory, you fill it with your preferred people (remember, Russia and China are huge ethnically diverse nations) and gobble up all the good houses and businesses (due to a war either killing the owners or making them cheap) and rebuild them, make money for your 'chosen people' and then you start moving people into the border region that now exists after you took the last bit and repeat it.

Vladivostok is full of Han Chinese. They are there 'to work'. But in reality it is China filling it with the Chinese so they can prepare 'defending their citizens'. Remember, China does not recognise the Treaty of Aigun and thus Haishenwai is still Chinese. But it can't do anything at the moment. But if Russia gets too fucked they can offer to buy it to help Russia out, after all, it's full of Chinese anyway :).

China is doing this with Mongolia as well, on top of African nations like Djibouti. The ultimate plans are, if they want, they can cause 'unrest' in leased ports, send in the military to 'secure their bases' and then de facto control that port.

A decent chunk of people probably still have enough fuel for a trip like this, but for many that chance has already been cut. I believe there is a short window of opportunity, and it is closing fast.

I think we can broadly categorize people into a few groups.
the early birds:
>can see the writing on the wall
>knows that more fuel isn't coming
>is decisive enough to abandon everything while they still have the choice to do so, and leave however they can
> why anyone this intelligent would still be in a warzone at this time is anyone's guess
the serfs:
>believes help will come
>will stay there until the end, either because of complacency, hope, or inability to leave
>this group will be begging for food on social media in the end
the sheep:
>most people can't see the signs in advance, and will only notice something is wrong when it is right in front of them
>they will panic and rush the stores, which will cause others to do the same
>they will all try to leave at the same time, causing traffic and blockages.
>we will see lots of cars without fuel blocking the road for others, and other similar funny situations in social media screenshots
>in the end, no one is able to leave because of them

I'm looking forward to a month from now, to see how my predictions stack up. Who knows, maybe Russia has been digging a tunnel for supplies for years now :)

yea it is, I'd be lying if I said I was still in my usual 3 piece

that the Chinese haven't in any visible way subsidized the russians implies they aren't going to bail them out
>>
>>65260315
The ultimate question is not how many they have, but how many they're willing to lose. If you had 100,000,000 trucks, how many are you willing to lose to try and keep Crimea going (ignoring the content of the trucks)?

That was kinda my point. They have plenty of trucks but the content of the trucks (driver included) are the important thing.

>>65260337
Was kinda my point but worded poorly. They produce loads of trucks, producing trucks isn't difficult and Russia produces many for domestic use, but getting drivers to risk it and the content itself is the issue. Since HGV need specialist drivers, so unless they're starting huge training programs for it or just go 'if you can drive car you can drive truck, da' we'll hit a bottle neck of drivers, not trucks. But, again, I suspect they'll keep rising the offer for truck drivers (i.e, we'll wipe out 500,000,000 ruble deb and pay you 10,000,000 rubles a month if you drive.... And then not pay you until you complete 50 runs and you die before that).
>>
>>65260182
I can see Ukraine allowing a humanitarian corridor for any ziggers who want to bail, but there's another side of the issue: Russia itself.
I wouldn't be surprised if monke enstablishes a curfew and orders whatever mobiks he has in Crimea to detain and/or shoot anyone who tries to leave, or drone them after they pass the bridge and blame it on Ukraine.
A mass exodus of civilians from Crimea is a gigantic loss of face for Russia and monke personally, essentially a capitulation of Crimea in all but name that also cannot be hidden from either outside peers or your internal public.
>>

That'll be the War of 1812 which Americans proclaim they won when the Bongs captured Washington DC and burned the White House to the ground and the POTUS had to flee. Then a storm hit, Bongs abandoned and they claim it 'saved' the capital when in fact the storm did more damage than the Bongs did. The Bongs then captured and remade new colonies and sent over veterans (including Wellington who had jsut beaten Napoleon) over to Canada and he convinced the government of Bongland to just sue for peace instead of fighting.

The "Sphexish" Fixed Action Pattern
A famous observation, often attributed to naturalist Jean-Henri Fabre, involves the digger wasp (Sphex) and its rigid sequence of provisioning its nest:

The Routine: A female wasp digs a burrow, hunts a caterpillar/cricket, paralyzes it, drags it to the burrow entrance, leaves it momentarily to inspect the inside, and then pulls the prey in.

The Disruption: Researchers tested this by moving the paralyzed prey just a few inches away while the wasp was inspecting the burrow.

The Finding: When the wasp came back out, she dragged the prey back to the opening, left it, and went inside to inspect again. If the prey was moved repeatedly, the wasp would repeat this exact sequence endlessly, highlighting how highly specialized, instinctual behaviors can become rigid "automated" loops.

the brownoid that keeps spamming his wikipedia page endlessly, that was astroturfed by other brownoids, is more like a retarded insect with an analog brain that can only repeat sets of instinctive sequential actions, rather than a human being with thoughts and feelings.
he will keep going back to step 1 without understanding why his spam gets removed, because he isn't a person, he's a digger wasp.

>>
>>65260923
Mongolian law (currently) says foreigners cannot own shit in Mongolia. So China is building economic zones via railway connections, and trade facilities and other infrastructure in order to make Mongolia 'reliant' on China. China gets the money, Mongolia's 87% export reliance on China gets harder. Eventually, when you're that influential, you can start making 'suggestions' to 'ease trade relations' and suddenly stuff changes.

This is a long term strat, much like elsewhere. I'll give another example. A few years ago, China put a tariff on Australian barley. China is the biggest producer of beer in the world, so Australia sold a lot of barely to China. With tariffs on, Australian farmers got absolutely fucked and many flat out went bankrupt or were in dire straits. So, what happens next? Well the moderate minority of Chinese in Australia (by that I mean 5%-10% of the population in an area, maybe more) start buying up these bankrupt farms or offering good deals (but not huge amounts) to the failing ones. So they become Chinese owned, or at least owned by Chinese citizens or dual citizens. Then, a few years later, China reascended their tariff and started importing Australian barely again. Except this time, the money was going to Chinese and pro-Chinese farm owners, not to white Australians.

Why does this matter? Well if Wolololologong relies on farming for its money and all the farms are owned by Chinese, suddenly the politicians for Wolololologong start thinking about pleasing these people, even more important if they're 10%-25% of the local population, as that can decide votes. So they start offering pro-Chinese incentives etc and suddenly you've now got a region that is pro-China. Rinse and repeat in key areas and eventually the PM starts to have to listen to Chinese citizens in Australia.

Same shit happens with Muslims in Europe. Pretend to be peaceful but when they get to 15% of the population they start demanding shit.

Drones might have been inside the "blind window".

Around eastern Europe, a lot of old (mostly rural) houses have physically separate kitchen (smell? reduced risk of fire? reasons). Like you have to go out of the house, take a few steps and enter another building.
In addition to that if property space allows it, vast majority of them have also a dedicated cooking space in the yard/on the property for warm months.
Most of the times it's just a glorified grilling area as another anon pointed, 2-3 walls, a roof/half roof.
Some people have proper cooking appliances, originally you would have some kind of clay stove/oven contraption which you would feed whatever can burn in order to cook you meal. Around my parts, the go to material would be "empty" corn knobs.
You have to consider that in Eastern Europe, until pretty recently, large properties in rural villages were dirt cheap. My father's parents had a 6 room house, garage+kitchen, small orchard, small field, a small barn for one cow and a horse, two small coops and two yards, one like a common suburb backyard and a big barren one that would serve as a space for the cow, the horse and the horse drawn carriage during the summer.
And that property was sold for 20k euros about 8-10 years ago.
>>
>>65261334
If you care to know, the "corn cob" is the empty thing itself so you don't need to specify. With corn attached it is an "ear" of corn or cooked whole "corn on the cob."

>also holy fuck I missed that they're not fleeing Crimeans, but retards from fucking Moscow who for some terminally stupid reason decided to go for a vacation in an active warzone.

>>
>Around my parts, the go to material would be "empty" corn knobs.
FWIW corn is one of those things in American English that has a bunch of names depending on its exact state, like eskimos have a hundred different names for snow.
"ear of corn" = still got the silk and shuck (green wrapping leaves) on it.
"cob of corn" = shucked and silked but not cooked.
"corn on the cob" = cooked cob of corn.
"corncob"/"cob" = the empty thing that's left after eating off the corn.

Russians have a much higher tolerance for vacationing in warzones because of Israel, actually. There's a huge Russian-speaking population in Israel and they get a shitload of rich Russian tourists; IIRC like 30% of Israelis speak Russian at home and it's the second most common language behind Hebrew.
