Help me choose a gun. Tomorrow, I can only pick one.
>>65261089left if you're buyingif you're shooting at battlefield las vegas like my schizo ass thinks you might be, choose right
>>65261098Kek if I'm buying? Anon, it sounds like you have some sweet family or loving friend who would give you something for free. I get nothing in this life for free ;_;
>>65261089Left. Easy choice.
>>65261155Sheesh, I must be a ghetto faggot for wanting an uzi. I think it's just because I've played countless games involving an uzi as to why I want one. Any particular reason why I should stay away from the uzi clone?
>>65261089Mp5 but get the full size if it's your first/only. The K isn't much smaller and has less furniture options. They're a bit snappier too, not that it means much with an Mp5.
>>65261159I mean I've had pistols, revolvers, and shotguns in the past. Currently I am as nogunz as it gets. I'm kinda liking the AP5P. You don't think the small size would be good?
>>65261089Only one of these machines was built to kill Semites.
>German>JewThe answer is obvious.
>>65261176based
>>65261169The K is great and all but trust me as an Mp5 guy with a standard Sp5, an AP5K, and a SD being built, if it's your first just get the standard full size. They shoot better, are easier (and cheaper) to kit out, and are barely any larger than a K.The K looks and is cool, don't get me wrong. But it's not quite as nice to actually shoot and all the furniture is more expensive and harder to find unless you're buying reproduction shit. They tend to wear parts faster and be more picky with ammo/mags. But if you're trying to overhaul an MP5 into the modern era, you're honestly better off with something like a Kuna or B&T.There are a lot of trade offs you make for ~4" less gun.
>>65261186Thanks, anon. I didn't know that about the price differences in furniture. I have heard that the APs have had a "you either have an awesome one or something that needs to be swapped out with HK parts" and that it has a good chance to have double feed issues like vid related:https://www.youtube.com/shorts/y0N4K7W7c8oRegardless, do you believe I should just save a little bit more cash for an official HK, or do I just go with the AP5 and switch the guts out if I have to?
>>65261089>>65261158Closed bolt absolutely mogs open bolt in every practical aspect - accuracy, reliability, comfort. There's no movement between the trigger being pulled and the round going off, simple as.If you go with HK brand HK then it also doesn't get any better in terms of build quality. Can't speak for Turkish clones as I have no experience with them. With a converted semi-auto UZI you sometimes get a two-round burst when you expect a single shot, which is fun but not really great when you count on it firing a single shot. Otherwise they usually look beat to shit but are still good to go as it's a simple and solid gun. Can't speak for clones here either. The UZI is a great gun for lols at the range (I like the huge full size ones with full wood stocks and basically no recoil), but if you plan to ever use the gun for any sort of practical application you should get the MP5 which has surpassed the UZI the day it came out. If you want a range toy and are poor get the UZI, no shame in that.
>>65261193I haven't needed to swap anything on the AP except for locking piece to fire suppressed. Original run MKEs had rough ejectors but it's a cheap part and also it seems they've fixed their QC on those in the last year or two. It has been flawless with an FRT from day one.Check your bolt gap. Look up how and why it's done. Follow the procedure. The #1 issue of roller delay guns is bolt gap and these retards like your video probably don't even own gauges to check it. It will frankly tell you if your gun is out of spec beyond simple replacement parts. If you get through 500rds and check the bolt gap vs the initial gap and it's out of spec, send it in for replacement. Never had it be the case on any of my three or a PTR91 but I have seen out of spec bolt gaps at the range with guys that have unreliable roller delay guns.My HK is nicer than the MKE but it isn't twice as nice. I would say it's maybe 25% better fit and finish. You're spending for the markings. If you had the money for the HK I'd spend it on the MKE with furniture you like and you'll still have some leftover for ammo. Or hell, get the AP5 and the K for the price of the HK.MP5s don't like flat nose ammo or short ammo. No feed ramp. Hornady critical defense work flawlessly for me for HP ammo.
>>65261220Also the K is a meme and you will hate yourself if you buy it without first trying it out (and finding out by yourself that it is, in fact, shit).
>>65261220>open bolt>civilian UZIRetard. Roller delay mogs direct blowback.
>>65261235The K isn't shit. It is probably still the best overall hyper compact sub gun. But it isn't quite as nice as a full size. Unless you absolutely plan to carry the thing in a pack all the time, or just like the look, there's no reason to really go with the K over the standard.
>>65261243The look of the K is gorgeous, it just sucks because I know you are right regarding it being easier to utilize than the K.
>>65261237You're a faggot but thanks for making me look that up. I had no idea that open-bolts cannot be not-machineguns in the US.I'm a Czechfag and my experience with UZIs is limited to the surplus ones that just had their sear mechanisms welded up pre-2017.>>65261243Eh I dislike <8in barrel SMGs in general. Just use a pistol at that point.
>>65261284They're sexy. I can't deny it. I do own one. But I would pick the full size over it if I could only have one.>>65261292The mp5k mogs pistols in every single way aside from size. There isn't a single traditional handgun as effortlessly accurate. The velocity difference between ~8" and ~4" for 9x19 is miniscule. Generally about 100fps. At sub gun effective ranges its entirely moot.
>>65261335The mp5 mogs the mp5k in every single way aside from size...I believe you either conceal well and accept a less effective handgun, or you don't conceal at all and use a proper-sized gun with an actual stock and whatnot. I don't wear a trenchcoat or carry around a briefcase to hide a super-ultra-compact-but-not-really SMG in.Then again I'm a retard who unironically EDC's a 55 year old PPK so I guess I'm no authority on making rational decisions in regard to guns lole.Nevermind man just enjoy your guns. I tried the /k/ out and I simply did not enjoy shooting it that's all.
>>65261423Not the guy you replied to, but why didn't you like it, man?
>>65261089>left Incredibly expensive and only used by cops. Not battle proven.>rightLooks cool and was popular in 80s movies. Been putting holes in terrorists since the 1950s, has been in several wars and has been on the side of the victors every time. 200% battle tested. The choice is clear OP.
>>65261089Any MP5 will be a nicer shooting gun then any Uzi. I live in the land of open-bolt semis as anon here >>65261220 and I only enjoyed Uzi in the same way I enjoyed driving a 1950s farm tractor - it's fun because it's weird and requires effort. Burger closed-bolt Uzis won't have the same delay between trigger pull and actual firing, nor the unusual "double" recoil as true open bolts, but they will still have the ergonomy of a mallet, meh triggers and annoying grip safety, and being gutted and reshuffled internally, they reportedly have their own host of issues. What's your intended use for it, though? The Uzi can be an awesome gun for shits and giggles, but MP5 is pretty cool too (HK slap!) and can actually do other tasks as well, so it's mostly about how much do you want to handicap yourself...?
>>65261477You dubs posting schizo, please don't make this hard for me. I've been fucking wanting an uzi but at the same time I know it would be nice to have an MP5 and that it's better than the uzi in every way (other than appearances).
>>65261553You want the honest truth? I want to use to either use at home as self defense and to have fun with at the range. The problem is I think both guns are sexy, a fucking uzi is a damn meme in itself and I loved it in San Andreas. Before anyone says, yes, I understand there are better (at home self defence weapons for if a nigger tries breaking in at 3 AM) but I don't care. I want to grab a damn MP5 or uzi and blicky blast if I have to! Shotguns are soulless and ARs are too soulless.
>>65261176I have German mfg Uzi mags, what now Einstein?
>>65261477>tech noirI still want to go, it's down on Pico.
>>65261158Both are useless toys in single shot, uzi fires from open bolt, do the math
They're both memes. Sell $500 worth of shit or give $500 worth of blowjobs and buy both
>>65261727>implying you can find a single uzi online for $500>yet alone $1000it's not 2001 anymore, gramps.
>>65261112he's talking about renting not a free choice of gun. the only guns i've gotten or given as gifts were the givers choice. i'd go for the mp5 clone even if it is turkshit
>>65261089mp5 over uzi all day long
>>65261423>The mp5 mogs the mp5k in every single way aside from size...That's literally what I have said the entire thread? The K is useful if you want to put it in a small pack and take it somewhere. I don't EDC mine but I do have a hidden mount for it in my truck CC.
>>65261634MP5 is great for HD. You would struggle to find a more reliable repeating firearm. Slap an FRT in and just ventilate anyone that breaks in. I have a green visible laser zeroed at 10yds for that exact purpose.
>>65261089The MP5 is a higher quality gun. The Uzi is more fun, though; if you're renting, go for the Uzi.
>>65261335>The velocity difference between ~8" and ~4" for 9x19 is miniscule. Generally about 100fps. At sub gun effective ranges its entirely moot. When shooting hollow points, the faster velocity helps at getting consistent expansion.
>>65262217>hollow points>mp5I got lucky and Hornady critical defense feeds for me but my friend has an SP5 that refuses anything not FMJ and round. And it's 100fps, it's meaningless. Especially at Mp5 ranges. And this is coming from someone who much prefers the standard over the K.
>>65261477>Been putting holes in terrorists since the 1950sYou mean stealing land, right?
>>65261158>I must be a ghetto faggot for wanting an uziYeah.
>>65262239>my friend has an SP5 that refuses anything not FMJ and round. He might just have a lemon. The gun was designed to take 147 grain +P+.>And it's 100fpsIt's ~100 ft/s if it's the heavy 135 and 147 grain ammo (again, those really benefit from those 100 ft/s to consistently expand). If you're enjoying 90 and 115 grain ammo, the difference is closer to 200 ft/s. Look, if someone were pretending that using a longer barrel made his pistol-caliber carbine comparable to a rifle, then I'd agree with you that 100 ft/s definitely isn't enough to be as good as a rifle, but the benefits of the increased velocity helping the reliable expansion of the tips is undeniable. I really want picrel.>>65262265The 1986 MG ban has had us lower our standards tremendously.
>>65262204Is there a good video guide on how to install or should I just visit my LGS?
>>65262245>>Been putting holes in terrorists since the 1950s>You mean stealing land, right?Brown detected
>>65262217Silly thing to get hung up on when talking about MP5 variants. They don’t have feed ramps and often cannot use hollowpoints reliably at all. And besides, nobody’s convincing themselves they need to carry a Glock 34 instead of a 19 because they’re scared their hollowpoints won’t be expand; quality modern projectiles work just fine out of fairly short barrels. And the MP5K has more barrel length than the G34!
>>65262584>nobody’s convincing themselves they need to carry a Glock 34 instead of a 19 because they’re scared their hollowpoints won’t be expandWell, sort of. Full-sized Glocks and long-slide Glocks work okay (not amazing) with 147-grain HPs but compact Glocks and subcompact Glocks sometimes will see unreliable expansion, and their users are better suited with 124-grain ammo. Despite the FBI proving that 147-grain is the best (a fact that surprised me as I always thought the faster 124-grain would have the edge; I was forced to admit I was wrong), they and most LEO agree that out of shorter barrels they'd rather rely on 115 to 135-grain ammo.>quality modern projectiles work just fine out of fairly short barrelsYou can't deny/ignore physics; each round was designed with a velocity threshold in mind. If the round is going too slow, then it risks subpar expansion, and if it's going too fast, it risks disintegrating, which is its own set of problems (ever see a 115-grain projectile fired out of a 9x25 Dillon? There is a reason that cartridge was used in USPSA and IPSC for paper targets but not for handgun hunting).
>>65261089Have both. Also a mini uzi.Get the mp5k clone. You can run a super safety or whatever FRT comes out in the future in it, there's a larger aftermarket parts support readily available, and they suppress better because they're not straight blowback. The uzi is great too, but much heavier, larger, and honestly the clones can be more finicky for any number of reasons. Also, for the money you pay for the uzi in today's market, you're going to open the top, pull the bolt assembly out, remove the grip stick, realize you've shelled out $2k for what is realistically $300 in stamped steel and milled square stock and be somewhat disappointed.
>>65261089Neitherand if it's not select fire it's not worth buying
>>65262285>The gun was designed to take 147 grain +P+147gr itself wasn't even a thing when the Mp5 was designed. And the issue isn't the grain or the pressure but the projectile construction and sometimes length because the Mp5 has no feed ramp. And at SMG ranges the 100fps is literally of zero concern. It won't make a lick of difference. The mp5 is picky about what HP ammo it will take as well, if it will at all.>>65262319Install an FRT? It's an Mp5, everything bar a major component swap (barrel, charging tube) is absurdly easy to accomplish.
>>65261634In that case I would lean towards an MP5 provided it has a stock or a brace.
>>65262966I haven't touched an MP5 yet. I guess once I break it down, I won't be as cautious because I see a trending agreement that they are easy to work on.
>>65262966>147gr itself wasn't even a thing when the Mp5 was designedAnon, 147-grain ammo was invented for the military in the 1940s, and the MP5 was invented in the 1960s. The ammo didn't hit the civilian market until the 1990s but the ammo did exist and it existed for the exact same people who were using the MP5.
>>65261112no you illiterate, as opposed to renting like I thought might be the case
>>65264251>147-grain ammo was invented for the military in the 1940sTo the best of my knowledge it stems from US army testing where an extra 7gr was added to a 140gr projectile to get it to actually cycle an action. I've never once seen anyone claim otherwise, least of all it being developed in the 40's.The SD was made specifically to bring supersonic ammo below that threshold. Why would it have been built if functional subsonic ammo existed?
Mad MP5 Bolt head, MP5K Extractor, MP5K Extractor Spring, HK MP5 Ejector.Anything else I should replace out of the AP5 so that I can get as many necessary parts swapped out for more quality crap?
>>65264696Just buy them as backups in case something breaks, like how you get replacement parts for the other guns you shoot a lot of ammo through. Or do you expect to get a lemon no matter what? If that's the case just get the H&K.
>>65264696If you are buying the MAD bolt then you do not need a spare extractor or extractor spring as the MAD doesn't use the HK ones but its own proprietary ones. Get a genuine HK extractor at the bare minimum.
>>65264899FUCK I meant get a genuine HK EJECTOR!
>>65264903Man, I must be only anon on /k/ who doesn't know how to take apart or put together an mp5. I really want to learn.
