Just for perspective you are playing as a 7 foot tall super soldier and so most weapons look small or normal sized in your hands. Even though you are wielding a .500 magnum hand canon that makes a desert eagle .50 AE look small fry. Also if you noticed in the original Halo combat evolved, most of the weapons were gigantic in the hands of the marines, so its not far fetched to say that the AR mags could hold 60 rounds. For example the in game assets for the assault rifles magazines look massive by comparison to the typical marines, they look bigger than the 50 round 7.62x51mm NATO drums I have used. Which fits my perspective that the original halo assault rifle isn't really an assault rifle. I see it more like a hybrid between an LMG and an Assault rifle which makes a lot of sense if your fighting enemies with shields that you have to wear down with a lot of rounds. Even the shotgun which uses a colossal 3 1/2 inch 8 gauge diameter shell could reasonably hold 12 rounds, when you realize that it isn't the diameter of the shell that impacts the amount of rounds you can hold but the length of them in a tube fed magazine. And once again if you are perceptive you will notice the Halo CE shotgun is quite long compared to a modern tactical shotgun, just how long the shotgun is in chiefs hands or when a marine is holding it, also look at the magazine tube on the top which takes up most of the barrel length.
>>65266105Kinda of going off on a tangent hear but I think everything with asset scales kind of got screwed up with Halo Reach, Remember you were playing as spartan 3s who where smaller than sparten 2s and typically only slightly above average human size, you see this contrast with George who is your typical Spartan 2 and he looks like a giant compared to spartan 3s. A great immersive lore edition to the game, but unfortunately to not make the game look off, they down scaled weapon sizes a bit to match the spartan 3s and the army grunts in the game. Now comes 343 years later with their remake, instead of taking inspiration from the original games assets and building off that, they decide to be lazy and rip assets straight from Halo Reach and put them in Halo CE, so instead of having UNSC Marines on the Halo you have the Army grunts from Reach, and than you notice that the weapons are all the same assets from reach and slightly smaller, even the master chief looks a bit smaller and more comparable to a spartan 3 in size, while the covenant use the same assets from reach and look bigger, as if you were a typical sized human, even grunts look bigger than then they did in the original game.They also screwed up so much of the atmosphere and lighting of the original, forerunner structures are oversaturated with light, rgb lighting and shiny instead of being dark, foreboding and ancient looking, this is most apparent in the first flood levels where you were supposed to just barely make them out in the dark fog of the swamp before the big reveal, instead 343 shines a big flashlight on everything and kills all the suspense and don't even get me started on the lack of gore and blood.Anyways if you made it this far, thanks for reading my book.

Humans also weren’t called humans when they were the intergalactic forerunner. 343 in 3:“You are forerunner.”Literally all Forerunner tech working flawlessly and effortlessly if a human uses it but refusing to work for any other species. Also in reach when you defend Halsey, she tells you that the ancient forerunner stuff is a “gift” from parent to child by an ancient civilization. 343 massively retconned all of this and their lore is ass.
