45 Super is the answer, brother

The ones I shoot with load their rounds just hot enough to cycle the action reliably and they always have a great time. 50-100 rounds, shot over the course of an hour with just bullshitting in between. Pretty comfy retirement.

And their not shooting tricked out 2011s, at least not all of them. Some are shooting old Norincos or bargain bin RIAs and Tisas. Actual Colts or Les Baers occasionally, but they mostly entertain themselves working trigger jobs on cheaper 1911s.
