What now /k/?:https://x.com/Southwood_/status/2069694485068738789
>>65270303Drones formation stays still, only about 1/3 got shot down. This stupid korean live show just made me think maybe the overwhelming drone assault is quite unstoppable.
Post to youtube video retard: https://youtu.be/2AxMB2Iug3Q
>no programmable fuze>doesn't fragdon't choose wrong technology
>>65270303>that banner "One Shot One Kill">Sprays the sky with lead.I suspect they don't fully understand the banner's meaning.
>>65270303this seems extremely inefficient compared to other solutions i've already seen years ago.
>>65270303what happens when those drones hug terrain instead of staying perfectly still in air?
Rheinmetall's already got this solved. One burst and the whole formation's down.https://youtu.be/pb5_F4_Eod8?si=vA4b_1syekgc_HpB
>>65270427That'd be unsportsmanlike.
>47 dronesIS THIS A THREAT?
>>652703131 single flakpanzergepard could have splashed that entire formation in a matter of seconds, it all comes down to using the right tool for the job
>Slow-flying>clustered up instead of dispersed and approaching at 360 degreesKind of a pointless demonstrator, but seeing eight Vulcans blow their piss at once is boner inducing
>>65270433This is a retarded advertisement. A real drone attack does not fly slowly in a tightly packed group for the camera 2 meters apart.
>>65270446yes, that number is VERBOTEN
>>65270467>8 vulcansand they still couldnt get the job done
>>65270498They aren't designed to, desu. They're intended for hitting fighter plane size targets turning so that the largest surface is facing them. Dispersion of bullets is good for that. Modern AA guns intended for drones do better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvvbLYXMkRIThat's not going to stop a swarm but it will accurately shoot down 2 or 3 drones in short bursts, and all they had to do was update the servos on a GWOT era RCS.
>>65270519how does it track, computer vision?
>>65270313>>65270320>20mm so no self-destruct or proximity fuzes>them bullets will fall down somewhere and wreck havoc unless its on open sea, given the sea is not some trade rout or tourist rivieraAlso, the drones are immobile in place, lol
>>65270530Yes
>>65270519>and all they had to do was update the servos on a GWOT era RCS.Bullfrog has completely different design, servos, and control sensors than existing legacy RWS.https://youtube.com/watch?v=WIIQuTU3RmE
Just get the ahzict aht millimeter from germany and make it auto
>>65270433This except you can do it with an M230 on a gimbal mounted to literally anything.
>>65270303If those were armed fpvs attacking at speed, those gunners would be toast. The guy at the end with a small arm did way better.
Even if there is an effective anti-drone system (there isn't), you still need to deal with the fact that it needs to be in place along the entire battle space, otherwise drone attacks will decimate any gap in your coverage, or simply navigate around your coverage.
>>65270313To be fair, one 30mm gun with airburst rounds would have probably done a better job.But yea, if those drones spread out and attack from different angles it's gg.
>>65271415what do you think your airforce is for? you don't go into a war looking to replicate the ukraine war's conditions. Or in other words, just don't be as incompetent as the russians.
25mm round with programable fusehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLDdD8kKwiw
>>65271547The US Navy and US Airforce couldn't stop Iran from using drones. You're basically just saying "do the impossible" not realizing that warfighting paradigms have already shifted beyond what you comprehend. Drone deployments are simply too maneuverable and distributed for conventional stikes to matter. In a real war, like against China, you're not going to have complete air superiority like the US does with Iran. Even when you do have air superiority they still can't eliminate the threat even the miniscule Iran poses. The victor of the next great war, if there is one, will be who can manufacture the most number of drones. There the clear winner will be China, who can probably make 1000 drones of all sorts (fps, shaded clones etc..) for every 1 the US can produce. This is the same dynamic that allowed the US to be victorious in WW2.
>>65271568Ok, now to protect yourself from one cheap plastic drone go ahead and deploy several thousands of these across the entire battle line just to provide minimal protection. SEEMS LIKE A WINNING STRATEGY RETARD
Bring back Yamato-sized guns with beehive shells. There, I said it.
>>65271578Why do you think china has near the capability to stop enemy drone swarms?>There the clear winner will be China, who can probably make 1000 drones of all sorts (fps, shaded clones etc..) for every 1 the US can produce. This is the same dynamic that allowed the US to be victorious in WW2.If a total war goes on, drone manufacturing in the US will skyrocket and the factories will be more secured since they'll be far away unlike the chinese ones. You're retarded.
Needs 10x the barrels in 14.5mm.
>>65271578implessive
Drones are fake and gay.
>>65270446>47>not 67Cring ah unc.
>>65270303>>65270498>>65270519The Sorks still have M167s in service for the specific role of shooting down hordes of low-flying Nork An-2s attempting funny commando insertions deep inside their territory. Not sure why they trotted them out for this.
>>65271583Hey dumbass, hard-kill systems have just as much promise as soft-kill systems. Sure, a microwave weapon works great against both singular and large groups of drones, but it requires much more power than just having some turrets to shoot down individual/smaller numbers of drones. Not every part of the front is going to be swarmed with drones, and one of the best potential ways to really deal with drones is to somehow get it mounted and working on systems like attack helicopters or, better yet, even bigger drones, so it will be able to react to and eliminate drones across a much larger area. Also you should kill yourself for posting that image, you give off the idea that countermeasures are a fad, regardless of how they really work, and that conventional combined arms is somehow obsolete because of drones.
>for some reason Korea decides to show-off their outdated AA tech
>>65271578This. /k will usually counter this by saying US factories will miraculously spring up and out produce China's or that every threat from China is not real and merely implessive. We are, at best, mid-late Nazi Germany in WW2. We have the best tech, by far, but not in enough numbers to win a grinding fight before the people give up.
