The G11's problem was not heat, but the complicated mechanism and gas building up in the sealed stock.
The solution is make it open-bolt. For good measure make it a constant recoil LMG using plastic links.

the solution to the G11 is to throw it into the garbage and use a 11.5 inch psa ar-15

Cut the glass off the Glockclock and glue the optic on the m4 before you do

I honestly wish someone would just do caseless ammo right.

The case works as an ejectable heatsink and removing it makes thermal management much more difficult. Add to that that without the case the ammo becomes much more easy to damage, and the cons far outweigh the trivial saving in mass and bulk.

redpill me on the eleven-point-five inch barrel, Palmetto State Armory, Armalite Rifle #15, and why it's better than everything else.

I still think it'd be a useful option for lower RoF firearms, even if just for the civilian market.
Imagine being able to press your own ammo for a handgun without needing to restock/recover casings.
It's definitely not idea for military applications, but for semi-auto civilian use, it could be a pretty big boon for efficiency.
Of course, that's assuming the propellant is actually made legally acquirable on the civilian market.

steel links for 7.62 = 2 grams each
plastic links = 0.5 gram each

1000 round combat load for a SAW
2kg steel vs 0.5kg plastic
that's 3 pounds saved in the links alone for one single soldier
imagine the compounding logistical benefits in transporting the ammo on fuel prices
not to mention it's cheaper to manufacture too
scale up for GPMGs and HMGs across an army

it's more important in the age of drones because now infantry can't afford to lug GPMGs. the SAW is the highest level beltfed you're realistically going to get.

Why did you use GPMG ammo for the comparison if you then claim that no one will ever carry it either way. You disingenuous fuck.

PKMs and Mk48s are both used as SAWs. Stop posting performative seethe and watch some infantry video from Ukraine. Beltfeds are still essential in the green and urban zones, but ain't nobody lugging around tripods and entire crews of 2-3 men to shoot one. They've retvrned to M60.

You don't know what a GPMG is. Got it. Filtered.

>right
It's a flawed concept to begin with. All it does is save weight, which matters very little to anyone that isn't a machine gunner. You give up a TON for that weight savings. Without a cartridge, extraction an unfired round is difficult. The ammo is extremely fragile. Comparable ammo to 556 is much larger than 556. What's even the fucking point when weight savings just means they're going to use it as an excuse to pack more gear on the soldier?
