how are these stocks, do they make it more like a trad sporting rifle, or do they just suck?

Could it even be superior as a long range AKA hunting rifle, or shooting prone with short mags?

Says "carbine length recoil spring" but can that work OK with 20" or even 24" barrel?

At least in semi-auto firing?

I'm going for something like less, maybe for max sight radius with 6" boop-tube.

I know that some of the cali-legal thumbhole stocks on AKs are actually fairly comfortable. But you can just get an ares SCR rait-tail buffer system without having to look ridiculous.

its compliance shit that you dont want on your gun ever. that said its better than some other compliance trash like a fin or nub.
if you werent legally forced to use it you would ignore it.

>ares SCR rait-tail buffer system
https://fightlite.com/lowers/scr-rifle-lowers

interesting but any youtubes of WTF to due to use with standard AR-lowers that I got in stock?

But I'd probably rather stick to 110% stock AR-action.
Plus I'm nuts for being able to attach various odds and ends to the rifle the picrel would allow that.

main question is does "carbine" buffer tube work with full length or 24" barrel without special twerking?

Good to know, Thordsen seems to have retired and out of biz.

FRS – 15 Gen 3 FDE Tan RIFLE Length Stock Kit (Free TACDOM Chamber Flag)For A2 rifle length tubesOverwhelming demand by our customers was the driving force behind our Rifle Length Recoil kit. Many AR-15 owners utilize a fixed (A2) stock on their rilfes. Changing the recoil system to work with the GEN II FRS-15 stock can get expensive and may alter the rifles cyclic timing making it unreliable or even dangerous. This kit solves that issue by utilizing special shortened spacers that allow the stock to run under the buffer tube. The buffer tube is finished off with a slip on foam cover. COMPATIBILITY:
Fits rifle length recoil systems
Fits any brand of forged AR-15 receiver
Fits many brands of billet AR-15 receivers
Fits many DPMS profile AR-10 variant lowers (with optional adapter)
Fits Black Rain Ordinance and Windham Weaponry AR-10 variant lowers (with optional adapter)
Fits Smith & Wesson M&P 15/22 (with optional adapter)

So I guess its tricky to use Carbine buffer tube with rifle or 24" gas block. :(

>how are they
kinda meh, where your palm ends up gravitating to is sort of far away from the trigger and saftey / mag release. you end up readjusting your grip to touch anything.
>more trad
eeehhhhhhh see above
>they suck
imo they do unless you've got salad finger sized fingers. i liked the monster man / juggeraught grips more but i usually just roll with a custom kydex wrap i make myself.

>superior
that's just cope buddy. i'm sorry

Dunno about aresscr but carbine buffer tubes are fine on 24 and 20s
Longer barreled guns with rifle gas are more forgiving than carbine where you need to fuck with h buffers and what not.
You can pick any weight and it will work.
>>
>>65274827
cool, google says weight might need to be adjusted if my 24" barrel has XL gas port

I guess I'll use an adjustable gas block.

Pistol grip rifle on average put the trigger too close to the magazine because they can and it balance on the right hand better, so the end of the receiver is too far from reaching the trigger.

>Motherfuckers actually buy this retarded shit instead of just not getting an AR-15 in California
>>
>>65274763
Oh that's actually pretty classy.
>>
>>65274756
How can you even look at that and entertain the idea for even a second that it is not bullshit and a humilitation ritual?
>>
>>65274756
>not just getting the scr raider
>>
>>65274763
I actually want one just to fuck around with and have an excuse to do woodworking again.
And can agree, a good thumbhole stock is max comfy. A bad one is terrible.
>>
>>65274827
Adj gas block is peak unless you are going for min weight or poor maxxing.
