Do you consume and rotate your shelf stable food or just replace it all when it expires?
>>
>>65277739
the freeze dried stuff is supposed to be good for 25 years. although, it's about time i eat the MREs and replace them with a new batch

you need access to a community with doctors and other resourcefull people, and enough ammo to last you 5 years by yourself.
if you don't have that you might as well sell everything and buy a rope, it'll be quicker

We can either have a productive conversation or we can actually talk about stuff. Your call.

I am sure most modern cosmetics contain plastic, I was also referring to her just looking 'fake'.

A set of Level IV plates for $225. These are bottom barrel by certified plate standards but Protech is reputable.

Friends and family
Seriously, do you have people you can rely on in an emergency?

Also, not exactly supplies but what's your living situation like?
>Apartment, house in the burbs or house with land?
>Owned outright, mortgage, renting?
>Good neighborhood or diverse neighborhood?
Make sure your home is secure (kick-proof door, adequate exterior lighting and alarms on the windows as a minimum, more if you own the place).
Start a vegetable garden if you've got space. Even in an apartment you can grow fresh herbs and chilies on a balcony which will make your freeze-dried diet a lot more appealing. Chickens are pretty easy to care for if you've got a decent yard.

>6 months of MREs and freeze dried food
Genuinely, add a few cans of Spam in there.
You can pick up a case of 12 cans for like $30 or so, and it puts 1100 calories in a shelf-stable, extremely compact package.
It also comes in like ten different flavors like Korean bbq and teriyaki.
MREs are great, but take up a large amount of space because of all the packaging, and freeze dried stuff is great because it weighs nothing, but also demands a large quantity of water be available, and might also require the water be heated which means you need fire or some other source of heat, which might not be ideal if you're worried about giving away your location.

A can of spam is like 4"x2.5", provides nearly the same caloric content as a whole MRE, is just as shelf stable, and you can literally just pull the top off and eat it with your fingers while hiding under a car if you need to.
It even tastes fine. It gets a little taxing to cram a whole can down at once, but if shit is dire you're going to be thankful for it and won't care.

I own a care facility. The government will help me. And if they can't, then things have truly went sideways and I have family out of country that I can live with after buying a plane ticket.

This is probably as unpopular as Paul Harrell saying that if SHTF a toothbrush will be worth more to you than your plate carrier, but we are social animals, and your social currency (for lack of a better term, not the Chinese kind) is worth a lot more than eating shitty freeze dried meals.
