I’m looking for an easily concealable edc for summertime
>>
>>65287611
It's the only gun I carry now.
>pocket sized pistol (fits in the thin jeans I wear as a 135 lb manlet)
>barely weighs anything
>can get a full grip on it
>controls are all easy to actuate
>feels and shoots like a full size despite being miniature
I genuinely think it's the perfect pistol for all civilian carry situations and nothing else comes close.
>>
Bump for interest
>>
It's good. Feels good, simple, reliable, convenience size.
>>
>>65287611
shit sights and QC
other than that gem desu
>>
I'm in the market for a pocket gun, and I was going to get an LCP max, but a small gun company CEO guy I know, who actually used to work for Ruger and Beretta, said forget it, and steered me towards the Bodyguard
>>
It's easily the most shilled handgun online right now, but the 4 pound striker fired trigger still makes it unsafe for pocket carry.
>>
>>65287620
You just described my CZ82 double-stack makarov. Except I'm not a sexually attractive twink.
>>
>>65287728
They make pocket holsters. I don't understand the people that say it's unsafe for pocket carry don't do it. No shit. Put it in a holster and they make a model with a safety if you're an extra pussy. I went with the thumb safety.

I got the carry comp on recently as an upgrade over my shit old OG LCP. Put 1200 rounds down range so far. It's my EDC now with Underwood +P XTP

Pros:
>factually fucking tiny, while still being holdable
>great in both the Vedder AIWB and pocket holsters
>no malfunctions to date with my carry ammo or FMJ
>reasonably accurate in my hands

Cons:
>+P is unpleasant to shoot
>the external hollow point shaped rounds like "Extreme Defender" won't feed for shit in it.
>the sandpaper grip texture is straight up painful on the stomach or hip when carried IWB

I ordered a Hogue rubber grip cover to help with the texture. Also, I needed to drift my rear sight, it was consistenty ~2" left at 10 yards when I got it. Otherwise I'm in love with it.
>>
>>65287767
GIs used to sit on their pot helmets so that they wouldn't get their balls blown off. You do it voluntarily.
>>
>>65287789
You won't shoot your balls off carrying appendix if you aren't a fucking retard.
>>
I bought one of these and a cheap pocket holster and the only thing preventing me from carrying it more is that it prints pretty bad in the pocket. My pants are currently 6 sizes too big on me though so maybe that has something to do with it. I'll probably end up buying an IWB holster at some point, feels better that way
>>
>>65287611
only reason you would carry this over a g42 is if youve been memed by capacity
>>
>>65287789
Imagine not knowing how modern striker fired safeties work
>>
>>65287801
Yeah, and I won't blow my brains out keeping my finger off the trigger holding it to my head either. Am I not retarded?
>>
>>65287817
The trigger is infinitely better than the glock, its also much smaller and easier to conceal while maintaining it's ability to be shot accurately, consistently, due to its low bore axis and frame design. The extra rounds are just icing on the cake.

Bodyguard 2.0, a new and unique striker handgun in its size class, is not a pistol to be carried without a pocket holster. If you pocket carry this naked gun it's your funeral
It's so tiny that carrying it IWB on belt with holster wouldn't be obtrusive.

If you want a tiny handgun to just throw naked-into-your-pants-pocket, then a heavy DAO semiauto or small revolver remain the only options and will until the heat death of the Universe.

why do you say this as if it's some kind of esoteric knowledge, if you carry *any* gun in your pocket it should be in a pocket holster
the pocket holster also makes your gun easier to draw in addition to making it safe to carry
>>
>>65287891
I carried a 1908 vest pocket for years against my wallet without a holster. A holster just seems like it would take up the whole pocket and get in the way.

The CZ82 is over 62% wider with the same ammo capacity and can't be carried safely with a round in the chamber.

I get it man, I like maks too, I like steel frames, I like hammers, but it's an archaic design for a completely different use-case and you're not even saving much money going that route.

(You) are the one insisting all guns need pocket holsters.
For a hundred years several types of small-enough pistols/revolvers are entirely suitable, for pocket carry, naked with no holster.
Bodyguard 2.0 is not one of those

back to pleddit
>>
>>65287611
S&W absolutely raised the bar for subcompact pocket carry sized pistols with the BG 2.0 in that it's small enough to pocket while being able to keep up with carry guns that you pretty much have to IWB/appendix carry which not everyone is going to want to do. Normally this realm of pistols is restricted to 22s, 32s, or 380s/9s holding 6 rounds or less and having DAO style triggers with the pinky hanging off. Instead you get 10-12 rounds on board, a full grip and a modern trigger. You can even put actual usable sights on the thing. For a pocket gun that's like moving on from a Ford Pinto to a Honda Fit.

If you don't plan on pocket carrying you have a ton of options for more impressive 9mm pistols which will offer same or better magazine capacity, shooting characteristics and significantly better ballistic performance.
Also, while I do endorse the BG 2.0 DO NOT buy one with the safety. It is tiny, hard to find, stiff as all fuck and sharp. If it's there, you have to train to check that it's off during every draw otherwise it introduces the risk (granted a it's unlikely due to its small size) of it being bumped on and drawing a dead gun. If the safety didn't suck as much as it does there would be some sense having it, since a carry gun might not always have a holster (even though it should) and some people do prefer a safety. But alas, S&W ran out of fucks designing the gun and had none left for that afterthought.
>>65287633
I've seen a lot of them selling and relatively few complaints. S&W isn't a great company QC wise nowadays, but the BG seems a simple enough design that they can get it right most of the time. Much better than their revolvers. Sights are excellent for a small pocket gun, with genuinely good upgrade options available.
>>65287728
You need to use it with a holster. Not a gun for shoving naked in a pocket. Theoretically you could with the safety version, but the safety sucks too much for that to be viable.
>>
>>65288079
Concur about the safety, on such a tiny striker-fire pistol as the Bodyguard 2.0. Even the safety on a Shield can be operable if that's your thing, but on this pistol it's best to train to use it without. Otherwise get a Shield or other larger striker-fired pistol (that has one). Still is a brilliant design for the size though. First micro carry gun that most people can get a full grip on, and it can be handled-carried-trained with as larger size striker pistols. Even could be considered a 'gunfight' handgun in a pinch (though if you have real anticipation of this in your carry activities better to get a larger size or -caliber pistol), it is the first pistol in its size class that a person could conceivably go through a couple of magazines with in a self defense encounter. A shootable tiny pistol.

love mine, have the PC comp version w/no safety. Compared to the only other gun I carried, my G19, it's fucking amazing. It's light, not intrusive IWB, and living in a state with mag cap laws, 10rds in such a tiny package makes me wonder if I should even bother with anything else when it's cold enough to carry something bigger.
>>
>>65289214
>light, not intrusive IWB
yep (I don't have one but) another thing I've thought since the Bodyguard 2.0 came out is that it could re-define 'tiny' IWB carry, a new micro-small category for a shrunk Shield in a holster on the belt.
Because as said >>65288094 this is a tiny pistol you can actually grasp and wield.
>>
>>65287611

If you want to stay in the realm of 380, the Bodyguard 2.0 is the way to go. Otherwise bump up to 9mm and you can get the Shield X

11/10 option, best pocket gun on the market. I've carried the LCP II and LCP max, edcd both for years. Decent guns but a real pain to shoot for any length of time. Don't point particularly well and are relatively difficult to shoot well. I've rented the bodyguard 2.0 before and it's a night and day improvement. Couldn't recommend it enough, and will have to buy one in the future. I really couldn't see buying anything else unless you need the tiniest gun possible or have some weird niche requirements.
>>65289451
Pocket revolvers are dumb outside of jacket pocket use. I'm convinced people who recommend them don't carry them. The cylinder girth just makes them stupid for the use

I didn't like it, but I accepted Glocks and later M&Ps as duty pistols with a 5.5 trigger and no manual safety. In the realm of concealed carry, people advise caution with these striker fired pistols because draw strings, shirt tails, and any excess fabric can snag in the trigger guard and set the gun off. So even with a holster, putting a 4 pound trigger in your pocket is unsafe, and to say otherwise indicates that you work for S&W's marketing department, or you didn't own a gun before 2020 so your opinion doesn't matter anyways.

The BG 2.0 should have been the same thing as the original Bodyguard but double stack. Lowering safety standards just to appeal to inexperienced shooters is retarded, and if you can't figure out a double action trigger, you just shouldn't get to carry a pocket pistol.

>It's almost like its hands down the best .380 on the market. Funny how people get excited about that.
That's why you're seeing this mentally ill faggot >>65290080 seethe among the other ones ITT. People who own older (inferior) hand guns feel threatened by the bodyguard 2.0. They don't want to buy it, but they know it's better and they see people talking about it. People talking about it causes them to feel FOMO. They to alleviate their FOMO by telling others it's bad and they shouldn't buy it as a form of coping with their FOMO.

If these people were well adjusted they could simply not buy the handgun and not actively shill against it. They could just be happy with their inferior carry pieces which still work just fine for carry.

I can appreciate the adherence to something you have a lot of time on, be it an old vehicle or firearm, but pretending that every single advancement made since its release is ackshually a bad thing is fucking hilarious. The staple gun trigger on the original is universally hated, pretending a lighter and shorter trigger (with a trigger safety) is bad and also dangerous is just disingenuous, for example.

I literally pocket carry it all day at work. IWB works better in slacks/chinos but regular jeans have great pockets. Here's your (you).

>>65290107
I wouldn't say all that many other choices are objectively "inferior" for EDC. Some are, like the LCP sucks ass as a firearm in general. J frame revolvers made sense when single stack 9s and 380s with 6+1 were the competition but certainly don't now. Even if you want to compare to something slightly bigger (too big to pocket for 95% of people) like a P365/G43/G26/Hellcat I could still see choosing one of those just based on your body size, hand size, or how you dress. The BG2.0 trigger is fine and the amount of grip is impressive for the size, but I can hold and shoot other pistols much better.
>>
>>65290080
There have been a shit load of irrelevant words posted and 0 people other than me providing evidence of firearm ownership. Is S&W so pathetic that they couldn't even hire real, gun-owning USA shills? Even gun shill posting gets outsourced to India and Vietnam?
