I hate chinkshit, actually. It tends to be bland leaning on ugly. >>65295449 is a perfect example; it's just a a T-72 with a generic boxy skin. Ironically, their small arms (including their weird rifle) are the only Chinese weapons I like, probably because they actually have an aesthetic.

how does that help
>>
>>65297512
Are you asking about the concept of skirts, or this case in particular?
>>
>>65297306
I do find it extremely hilarious that everyone except Russians managed to figure out ERA layouts with good coverage.
>>
>>65297512
Those skirts give it HEAT resilience comparable to a much, much bigger vehicle.
>>
>>65297512
It provides coverage to the tank’s stockings.

Yeah. The Germans occupied it during the war, then the Norwegian military used it up until the 90s or early 2000s. Then it became a public area of sorts. There's a group that runs the place and they did a lot to fix up and maintain the area, and even built a mini-museum there, but I think they ran out of funding during Covid, so it never opened, and things started to deteriorate.
There are a lot German bunkers in the area, along with old cannons, some shells from Gneisenau, and a German WW2 searchlight.
It's really fucking sad to see it all rust out in the rain. I've been thinking of asking /k/ for a way to help find a way to fund it or just for general expertise to fix stuff, and I've been thinking of volunteering.

Yup, you see that correctly. Most FTs had steel-rimmed wooden idler wheels. Some foreign-made models like the M1917 and, i think, the Fiat 3000 used solid steel but most Renaults used wood.

Argentinians put a Model 1968 recoilless gun on one, apparently. Bongs put their QF-2 (40mm) on it too and then put a 3-inch (81mm) mortar on another. Germans put 20mm Flak 38's on one. And Pak 36 too. Pak 35/36 L/35.6 (ö) “Böhler” too (which was a Cannone da 47/32 with a L/35.6 barrel, pepper box style muzzle brake and had a slightly greater performance). They then made a specific vehicle to carry three Panzerschrecks, didn't fire from the vehicle, but still, they made it a specific designation. Italians put Breda M37 on them instead (and made a copy of the vehicle itself).

Americans tried to improve it but made it more mechanically unreliable and carried less stuff. Canadians used it as an arty tractor instead.
