it's funny because modern americans pay taxes unfathomable to the founding fathers
>>
>>65302499
OR you could've granted them representation in Parliament but decided to double down instead.
>>
>>65302775
And you pay less?
>>65302729
It's funny how Wellington cried when the body bags of all his fag peninsular veterans came back while the UK was surrendering west Florida and all assistance East of Oregon after getting mauled by a bunch of dipshit hillbillies they outnumbered 30:1
>>
>>65302775
Modern Americans have universal suffrage and representation, something that the founding fathers did not have. It was "No taxation WITHOUT REPRESENTATION," not "No taxation." Please get over it.
>>
>>65302775
Not all of them :^)
>>
>>65304655
>>65304666
Which is ironically closer to what the so called founding fathers really wanted. It was never about saving the poor downtrodden colonial settlers from undue tax burden, it was always about rich plantation owners wanting not to have to pay a cut to the King, because they all wanted to be kings of their own little fiefdoms. They just sold the no representation as a way to legitimize it.
>>
>>65302775
>with representation
You retards forget this part.
>>
>>65303485
>mild tax
>that they didn't vote for

Yeah Washington himself rode up, told them to go home and the tax was repealed.
>>

No.
>>
>>65304678
Yes
>>
>>65304655
That should cut both ways though
>No representarion without taxation
US citizens that do not pay income, business pr property taxes for at least 2 years prior should not be eligible to vote in Federal elections.
Maybe an exemption for disabled vets.
>>
>>65303485
You forgot also trying that window tax shit in the colonies, and of all things, the fucking taxation of playing cards.

Inflation is the worst tax of them all
>>

Hey how come the English didn't rape the shit out of the Americans like they did with the Irish and the poojeets and everybody else?
>>
>>65306054
america is far away and was backed by the french empire
that's why half the constitution is literally written in french and all the founding fathers spoke it

and despite fighting a war over taxation now america literally funds a foreign government and treats their citizens better than their own (isreal) so what the fuck
>>
>>65306063
>that's why half the constitution is literally written in french
Weird thing to make up

Ah yes you are represented, and not at all a captured goyim cattle whose vote is worth less than a pint of piss in the pacific
>>
>>65302499

Hillarious that Murcans pay significantly more now and they still get 0 representation (billionaires influence ALL policy)

Should have stayed within the bong empire imo.

America was by far their most successful colony, the largest and richest in resources and the most industrialized and ethnically english by the time of the revolution. It was a really, really hard pill to swallow. Not that it matters, for the reasons mentioned plus the geographical distance, secession was going to happen regardless. Imagine being richer than your home country by several orders of magnitude and still obey them.

The hiberian Regiment of Spain and the Irish Brigade of France did a shit load of heavy lifting in the revolution. The modern marine corps gets is motto from the Irish brigade, who served on Bonhomme Richard

>>

the constitution was built from french ideas ergo most of the constitution was primarily written in french
you just rewrote it in english

hope that clears things up for you spud

18th century warfare wouldn't have looked like that pic. Most of it was maneuvering until one of the armies got into an untenable defensive position and then was promptly defeated in a quick and decisive fight (and surrendered). Army sizes also numbered in the thousands or even high-hundreds with "major" battles only incurring a couple hundred casualties. A lot of the revolutionary war also involved small skirmishes rather than intense, fixed fights and when pitched battles did happen the British were mostly dominant, until late in the war at least (so no 1000 yard stare, crawling around in the mud while covered in the blood of your hundreds of dead compatriots).
That picture is much more indicative of 19th century warfare, and something like the American Civil War.

3% taxes would be a reasonable deal for 1776 levels of political representation. For today's rates my mayor would need to secure a two thirds majority referendum before he buys new whiteboard markers.

This picture isn't even accurate. The real prices of goods in 1932, and how much you could get for $20 (roughly a week's wages):

Gas - $0.10/gallon (200 gallons)
Milk - $0.40/gallon (50 gallons)
Eggs - $0.30/dozen (66 dozen)
FC stamp - $0.02 (1000 stamps)

When the commies then sent a man into space (died), don’t be mad that the Americans accepted the ante and sent 24 men beyond LEO, 24 of whom came back. Sputnik was the darn starting pistol firing. The USSR held less animosity over this crushing loss than you, dork

>Average wage was $1,400 a year in 1932
>~$.70 an hour, $5.60 a day

~$20 would be ~28.6 hours of work
Gas was ~$.18 a gallon in 1932 so $20 could get you ~111 gallons of gas

>Average wage is currently $66,622
>~$32.38 an hour, $259.04 a day

28.6 hours of work would be ~$926

At the current price of ~$3.80 you could get ~243 gallons of gas.

But sure lets go back to shiny metal that can destroy economies simply by flooding said country's economy with more gold.

Not really the same though, gold always had real world value in the modern era unlike bitcoin that started out as worthless.
