The design is so awkward because it does two things: it places the grip directly inline with the bore so recoil is directed straight back, and uses the impulse of the bolt carrier directed into the frame to counteract the remaining muzzle flip. What you've done is to create muzzle flip by moving the grip down, and amplify it by having the downward force of the bolt carrier act on the opposite side of the grip from the upward force. There are no advantages to this design, you'd be much better off with something like an X95.

>>65315741The placement of the grip determines the placement of the stock. You can't misalign those two without forcing an awkward shooting stance. It's the same reason people shooting AR-15's don't keep the bore line aligned with their shoulder even though that gives the best recoil control.
