Is there a single speed loader or moonclips that work for Colt detective?

AI Overview
The Colt Detective Special requires specifically sized, 6-round D-frame speed loaders because its cylinder dimensions are unique. While full moon clips for this model are not readily available without permanent, aftermarket cylinder modifications, multiple twist-to-release and flexible speed loaders work seamlessly with the Detective Special.Compatible Speed Loaders & Reload Devices:HKS Speedloaders (Model DS-A): This is the most common option. The 6-round DS-A instantly drops cartridges into the cylinder with a slight twist of the knob. You can find these available at MidwayUSA.Five Star Firearms (6-Shot Series): Five Star offers a D6-series aluminum speed loader that is precision-machined for the Colt Detective Special.Zeta6 K-CLIP Speed Clips: These are polymer, hexagon-shaped strips that hold 6 rounds in a circular pattern but lack the rigid center mechanism of traditional loaders. They are designed to fit Colt D-Frame revolvers (including the Detective Special) and offer a slightly flatter profile.Bianchi Speed Strips: If you want a more compact reloading method, rubber Speed Strips are a classic choice. They hold cartridges in a single row that can be peeled off into the cylinder two at a time, allowing for easier, flatter pocket carry.Note: Depending on the age and specific grip style of your Detective Special (especially if you are using oversized aftermarket wood or rubber grips), the speed loader's body might lightly touch the grip during the reload, sometimes requiring slight relief cuts on the grip panels. To help narrow down your options, could you let me know:Is your revolver pre-1973 (shorter ejector rod) or post-1973 (longer ejector rod)? Are you using the factory original grips or aftermarket grips?

I wanna ask a human though not a bot. Are you so braindead you actively discourage human discussions?

If you want a discussion you should try asking questions that can't be answered in 10 seconds with a search engine.

I like the HKS ones, they work well with the factory grips. The zeta6 KPacks are neat, they're a tiny bit too big to be perfect but if you need to slap three rounds in a hurry they work fairly well. Neither are "authentic" though, they used to either carry loose rounds in a pocket or a dump pouch.
