HPSP anon here. Feel free to ask questions about medical school through the military. Pretty similar for dental/vet. Will help how I can.

Also willing to interpret medical DQ questions. Post diagnosis, age at diagnosis, are you still on meds, and branch. I am not a MEPS doctor. I will not give medical advice, as you are not my patient and I have no physical exam/labs/etc. Plus you don't know that I'm a doctor so you shouldn't take medical advice on the internet anyways.

>what do you do for the military?
Medical doctor, in residency.

Apologies if you had a question I didn't get to last thread, I saw only one and don't think I could help

Has anyone managed to get Top Secret Clearance when they have lost all contact with one of their family members? I got booked fora sweet intel job with the Big Blue and the fact that I have not talked with one of my sisters in years is the one uncertainty that I have. My recruiter said that my job is locked once I ship out, but the internet tells a different story - recruits can fail their TS application and have to get reassigned a new AFSC.
I job came in last minute and I was in the middle of a recovery process for a mild knee injury from putting too many miles too fast so I guess I am double fucked.
>>
>>65319645

So avoiding blisters/swelling/general foot discomfort is all about proper fit of your boots and socks that arent complete dogshit. If you havent gone to basic yet youre gonna get raped by the standard issue boots that will definitely not be your size and theyre gonna force you to use standard issue socks, everyones feet gets fucked up bad. If youre at your unit go to clothing and sales find some boots that properly fit, you like, and good soles that wont wear too fast cause rucks will destroy soles, and if compression socks work for you then use them. Personally ive found great success in my 12 milers with thick wool socks and I always ensure my boots arent sliding around my heels when I walk before I buy them

>I am not a MEPS doctor
disclaimer, so feel free to hit me with "idk nigga lmao", but I went to MEPS and did not tell them about my Adderall prescription. I figured they'd find it and I'd be screwed and have to get a waiver etc., but I was like fuck it, maybe I'll get lucky and they'll forget to check PDMP or whatever. So they gave me a list of things I need waivers for and Adderall is not on there. I guess they somehow didn't find my prescription records for it. Am I good to go from here, or do they check it later? I'm scared to proceed with the other (unrelated) waivers in case the Adderall prescription ends up on the medical records I give them. I'm going to ask my PMP about it (well I guess I have to to get the records anyway), hopefully she has advice. I feel like I'm walking on thin ice here haha.

Also I'm prior service, been on Adderall since forever, got off it to enlist without telling MEPS about it (back before MHS Genesis was a thing), got back on it after separating. I've previously asked you about this but did not expect it to not show up at MEPS.

Keep your legs together and fall like a banana/martial arts breakfall = perfect success everytiem.
Spread your legs on impact = grandma ripping apart the thanksgiving turkey wishbone like a starving bear.

Statistically, if you stay in an airborne unit, you will get a relevant concussion no more than once a decade, but in reality 39 guys in the platoon never have a problem and the unlucky 40th gets hit once, then twice, then three times in his first contract...and at that point brain damage starts to become a danger. Don't by the guy who embarks on a slippery slope. Be lucky.

I went to boot camp almost 12 years ago. Its nothing really to worry about. The first week sucks because its a lot of admin shit. What I remember from boot camp is a good way to fold T shirts and socks, the marlin spike and battle stations which was pretty fun. If you go in reasonable shape, with some knowledge of military ranks and other basic knowledge you'll probably get promoted in bootcamp too.

>did you has fun?
Yes, a lot actually
I basically had a dream contract thanks to meg giving me good advice on 35N being insanely based... 7 years ago?
I started shilling 35N endlessly because of it, best job in the army I think, one of the best in any service. When the average co-worker has a 90 ASVAB, everything just goes smooth. No blacks, very few women, everyone has the same nerd hobbies, nobody is getting DUIs or popping hot for drugs so your chain of command is always treating you guys super well, it's basically paradise.
Not even mentioning the insane jobs I was able to do that nobody else on the planet gets to do - and you can do it as a fucking 17 year old
It's comically, insanely goated going 35N, can't recommend it enough especially if you get the option 19 for a strategic location (Meade, Buckley, San Antonio, Gordon, Hawaii)
small caveat the exact path I took (JCAC out of AIT) is basically closed now so it'll be hard for many of you to follow in my footsteps exactly but there's opportunities there if you're willing

>What kind of jobs does your experience translate to outside of the military? I'm always curious as to this int stuff
no problem foreign intelligence agent!
But actually it translates to all kinds of jobs. You can do government stuff like I did in my skillbridge or after the military, easy 100-140k starting
downside is lots of those jobs are in the capitol area and that isn't fun to live in
Any IT job, you have opportunity to get whatever certs you want, and with military and vets preference you're probably going to get the job over anyone else. Also a clearance. Just gives you a bunch of bonuses over your peers in the job marketplace.
Any government job at all on USAJOBS you get vet preference for so anything there you're at the top of the stack.
I just took my VA money and started traveling the world after a short stint in a DC Thinktank
didn't need the money so why bother
>>
>>65320552
>no problem foreign intelligence agent!
Ya got me, I'm a kiwi. Don't think those same types of jobs really exist in my country like they do in the US so I'm still thinking hard about whether I should go into intelligence here or just do tradie shit in the military. I'm ready to be surrounded by braindead speds

>e4
>rip
Whats the issue with e4? Truthfully, it was by choice (kinda*) I didn't want to hit e5 as it shrinks reclass options. When my reclass fell through I stopped giving a shit. My leadership in korea, and fort hood tried to get me to promote, even to the point my SGM at hood even told me: "I'll let you go to the promotion board in your OCP's since your stuff all got lost, and you know your shit." Kind of a shame because i actually really liked that SGM. We were both 4ID at one point, so on the rare occasion i'd see him we were damn near on a first name basis. At that point it was already too late. I was beyond checked out for a slew of reasons I've mentioned here already before. If by the ungodly chance I did try to reclass again on my way out I wouldn't want the pool of mos's to shrink due to the e5.

Overall it sucks I never got stripes, but in the real world the army has had zero impact (good or bad) on anything in the real world for me.

>>
>>65322684
92G has been proven numerous times to not be Robert. The fact that he geolocated himself near Fort Hood for the Gary Sinise concert while Robert is in Peoria, Illinois is irrefutable evidence that 92G is a real person. Robert will sometimes pretend to be 92G, but the actual 92G always provides some sort of photographic evidence that he is who he says he is.
>>
>>65322698
So 92g is capable of geolocating himself elsewhere but Robert isn't?
>>
>>65322705
92G took photos that he could have only taken in one precise location at one exact time. Robert, being broke, butthurt, and obese, would not go out of his way to drive down to Texas from Illinois in his beat-up old as fuck Kia just to attend Gary Sinise's concert and pretend to be 92G while holding what would have to be (but is obviously not) a fraudulent USID card that exactly lines up with previous info that 92G has provided.

Like what the fuck even are we getting at here? The only actual conspiracy theory here revolves around Robert being the one fat faggot that pretends to be multiple different people in this thread. Everybody else is very straight forward about who they are and what they know.
>>
>>65322705

>>65322869

>>
>>65323245
>supportive responses to 92G

>>
>>65323300
>double dubs checked
Nta but I think 92G's issue outside of that original open contract was a mix of a few institutional problems. In the early days, he mentioned a lot of things being yanked out from under him. There is no way to justify that. He could have gone to EO or something, but I vaguely remember him saying it all just fell on deaf ears. This is a bigger issue that goes beyond him. Because if it happened to him, who else could it have been happening to and they just didn't post on a Mongolian basket weaving forum about it?

He did make a bad initial choice and I'm not defending that. The rest of what happened to him though isn't justifiable on any level. I am doubtful, but I hope those leaders faced some kind of action for stonewalling him.
>>
>>65323293
He's one of us, which makes Robert seethe endlessly. We talked mad shit about some of 92G's decisions, but we still want him to have the best life he can because we've all seen or experienced at least a few of the struggles he went through. Robert, meanwhile, did none of that and might as well be bitching on LinkedIn about a company that kicked him out during orientation.
>>
>>65323403
This.
We did certainly rag on him pretty bad. Maybe some of it wasn't warranted given that some of his issues weren't necessarily under his control. We would have helped him if he was going to attempt to reclass again. Since he wasn't looking for that apparently and was just focused on being free from the army the best we can do is wish him well with his decision to separate and use his situation as an example.

Unless you're like 40 ASVAB then go ahead you'll be perfect

>Buddy of mine was 35N before getting kicked out for not taking the vax.
Tell him to rejoin, he'll get 5 years of backpay
He can get kicked out again or medsep early or skillbridge to get a shorter contract, but the fucking 300k he'll get is well worth it lmao
>>65321899
>Any useful suggestions to pack?
Ibuprofen, sell to girls on their period for 10 dollars a pill, take it in your backpack in a small zippered pouch that you don't unzip when they do the initial bag shakedown, if your bag has like 9 zipper pockets there's no way they're finding one bottle of 100/200 ibuprofen
I'd also recommend like 40 medium PT shirts and sell them for like $30 each, everyone needs small, medium, and large PT shirts you don't get anywhere near enough and laundry is insanely annoying and crowded
>>65322593
>youre out now right? did your intel experience/credentials help you land a good job after the military?
140k starting yes
I left it because I had 100% VA anyway and didn't need the money, I travel the world now and am studying for law school to milk GI bill and be able to jew jews out of money
>>
>>65324466
He doesnt want to rejoin. His reasoning being something about having close to 100% P&T, I just don't remember specifics.
Honorable discharge though.
>ibuprofen
seems like a good idea but I'm already at the hotel.
>40 shirts
Kek might try this side hustle if I can fit it in my bag.

Disabled? You file claims for the things you went to see medical for while you were in. I'm not sure how else to put it.

There is zero chance you could have successfully convinced any branch that you did not lose a kidney. How did you plan on dodging chest X-rays for 4 years?

It's clearly not. Robert's plan for the past 6 years was to hold this thread hostage with the intention of forcing the mods to delete /meg/ so he would stop shitposting, but since Robert shitposts elsewhere on /k/ and would even make new threads just to keep shitposting, this threat was empty and getting rid of /meg/ wouldn't get rid of somebody who has admitted to being on this site since 2005 with the sole purpose of "having fun" via trolling.

Mods confirmed /meg/ is on-topic, so there will be no deletion of /meg/, which endlessly infuriates Robert because he realizes all of his efforts were for nothing and he is just as powerless online as he is in real life.

Some people are born with just one kidney. Surgical scar easily visible at MEPS.

>t. Chud, MD

>>65324893
>this is not a science experiment
and this is not a fruitful discussion. You will not successfully petition the mods to permanently ban /meg/. You will not "defeat /meg/". You will continue to foam at the mouth as you scream into the void. Take a look at the recent threads, Robertposting is on the decline. He peaked years ago. At this point, he only shows up a few times a week, rather than every single day. His willpower has been broken, and now he just comes here out of habit, but has clearly been going to other places because he knows this place is a proverbial brick wall and even he isn't stupid enough to keep bashing his head on it.

No, I'm asking why you won't answer either question. You're dragging this out longer than it needs to be. So why aren't you answering?
>>
>>65325151
You're asking me why I won't reaffirm your opinions, as if you need external validation. This is some weird powerplay instead of a conversation. I don't give a shit what you think. Bullying Robert is funny, but the only person that proactively brings him up is Robert himself. Be the change you want to see and don't acknowledge his existence if he actually managed to get under your skin. /meg/ has survived despite being inundated with the worst he can offer.
>>
>>65325162
>Bullying Robert is funny, but the only person that proactively brings him up is Robert himself.
So what about that time I was asking about a medical DQ and this Robert-not-Robert person started raging and spamming greentext, and somehow only my posts asking a legitimate question got deleted instead of the wordvomiting walltexting Robertposter's irrelevant posts?
>>
>>65325180
Dunno, but letting a stranger on the internet get you this upset is embarrassing and you will have a tough time in the service or in any organization if you spend your free time nitpicking and bitching to another random person like it fucking matters what I think.

Responding to me is pointless. I'm going to the gym. Good luck on the NG journey. Try staying on-topic in the future.

Anon, it takes less time to just answer the question than it does to talk about everything else but the answer to the question itself.

If you don't know, it's probably better to defuse and just say you don't know. Maybe someone else who does or 92g himself will answer instead. I shouldn't have to teach you how to have a conversation. Why are you avoiding such a simple answer?
>>
What is the actual point of this rank besides saying YEAH or DAS RITE every time a colonel and up says anything? Tongue my anus.
>>
>>65325776
Robert, the only people who would know are 92g and his medical providers.

Does it bother you that much that 92g was able to accomplish everything you couldn't?
>>
>>65324767
>You file claims for the things you went to see medical for while you were in. I'm not sure how else to put it.
The easiest way to explain it is that VA disability is an ADMINISTRATIVE process that just follows regulations and checks boxes. It checks medical records and information but as long as you check the box you get the service connection, or a certain percentage.
It's all public information, you just read the condition and make sure you hit the three wickets of service connection
NEXUS
DIAGNOSIS
CONTINUING CARE
"On x date I hit my knee on a log on an obstacle course, went to physical therapy in 2025, hasn't really gotten better it hurts most days." - Service connected, 10%, another 10% if you can't bend or flex it beyond a certain stated angle (they use a protractor during your VA C&P Exam)
Very simple, actually. If you're a 90+ ASVAB you can get 100% VA just by eventually checking enough boxes.
>>65325685
>I just wanted to fly around in helicopters and get my A&P license ;_;
Bro just drop a Helicopter Warrant packet it's super chill and you get paid better and work less hard.
>>65324824
>You didn't mention anything about 92g getting injured in your saga.
if you do anything in life you're going to get dinged over time, it's inevitable
pretty much any 25 year old has like 6-10 things wrong with them that are all worth at least 10% each

>just drop a Helicopter Warrant packet
I just turned 33, and that's the limit before you're too old to go before the selection board. My plan was to join the national guard or Air national guard; I have a couple bases near me.

Thanks anon, I'm glad to have finally gotten my answer after 8 and a half hours. You're a godsend :)

This whole time I was under the impression that it happened to him in service. I'm happy to see he's not scamming the military by claiming "disabled" and "veteran" simultaneously. Sure makes it sound like it happened in service, though. I didn't know he never shared how it happened.
