>>65320388I haven't had the best of luckI know some people say theirs work. So you can roll the dice, but without the hefty Beretta site discounts I think the kit is quite overpriced considering it's just an aluminum slide and barrel made by Umarex. Also they widely seem to not tolerate light hammer springs

It also is helping me build muscular endurance, but doing 500 trigger pulls a day will do that A DA trigger makes dry fire easier because the trigger resets for you and you don’t have to rerack the slide. If you can get one of the lasers so you can verify ur not throwing your shotsMy iron sights for my handgun are ever so slightly to the right and if not for me using a heavy ass trigger in conjunction with a laser and a target about the size of a human eye I would have never noticed it. Actually. I’d say the 92FS for the double action trigger so you can dry fire without having to rerack the slide
>>65320417lmao
>>65320421>Actually. I’d say the 92FS for the double action trigger so you can dry fire without having to rerack the slideDryfiring ONLY in DA can leave training scars where the user can't switch between DA and SA mentally. They'll throw the second shot not registering mentally the switch to SA.You have to dryfire your SA shots on the dead DA trigger>1: DA pull >2: SA pull shorter but mimicking the length of resetting the trigger >3+: continue SA dry fireonly issue with this is that you make the SA pulls very fine, since you can't lift off the trigger which would reset the DA pull. You kind of want to train your trigger finger to come off the trigger far enough that in live fire and your hand tenses up you don't get trigger freeze. (finger too tensed up and could not reset the trigger).
>>65320403Bait used to be believable

Then I realized I got trigger freeze since I was dry firing sloppily and would ride the reset.
I want a
9mm
1911
>>65320436>Throw the shotIt’s possible but I’d imagine if ur at that stage you’d start racking ur slide to get used to that switchAlternatively; if he’s shooting fast enough to blow thru single action he might be in an accuracy by volume scenario. Obviously it’s hypothetical; but given it worked for me when transitioning from an HK USP to Glock I shill it for everyoneI’ve never had the issue you referenced with the trigger not resetting all the way with a Glock, and I ride the trigger like a motherfucker and do have formal training under my belt. I know Glock isn’t double action, but I would like to believe I’m close enough to be accurate. But I was also extremely good at shooting and had a very nasty tendency to disassociate under stress; so it’s genuinely possible I’m a horrible example for some unknown reason. Please keep responding and letting me know if/how I’m wrong; I think it will benefit anon to see 2 people discussing the topic in detail and then he can make an informed decision. I have to sleep but I’d love to continue this conversation on. The reason I’m using a lot of anecdotal is because I don’t want to present my ideas as objective and want to include where an error to keep the other anon from giving my statements more credibility then they deserve

>>65320452It sounds like it’s about presence of mind. It seems similar to why someone would want a Double Action Kellermen trigger
>>65320473>Alternatively; if he’s shooting fast enough to blow thru single action he might be in an accuracy by volume scenario.it'll show up in rapid fire pairs from DA to SA where the shooter pulls the SA trigger expecting a longer DA pull. The DA shot is where it should be but the SA which you'd expect to be more accurate than the DA pull is off low left or right. I saw Joel Park talking about it in a video where he sees it commonly enough with some DA/SA shooters
>>65320486Well shit, I fucked up and we need to stick to what works for the general population and tailor it from there. Hello. I just want to ask a legal question about Handguns and how far you can decorate them like a CSGO Gun without getting into trouble. For example: What if I put this Glock Backplate onto a Glock, and then had to use said Glock in a self-defense incident. Will I get into any legal trouble for that? I've heard rumors of prosecutors not liking the Punisher Symbol, but there's no actual cases of anyone being prosecuted for having that on any of their guns.

Magliato which people try to say is precedent against having a "hair trigger" because, get this, when he pointed a gun at someone while threatening them and then pulled the trigger with his finger, it went off and killed the guy. The other was that time ATF tried to nail a guy for an unregistered SBR because he put a rubber cane tip on the end of his pistol receiver extension which, among other things, they tried arguing made it a rifleLike anon said, that doesn't mean the jewish prosecutor won't try to use your "NATE HIGGERS" backplate for character assassinationtl;dr You can do literally anything you want

Dumb question, 92x performance defensive anon from last thread:-I tried the wraparound grips, the texture turned me off on the backstrap part. -Pulled out my CZ P01/SP01 to compare. I think the SP01's curve fits into my hand the most comfortable.-Theoretically a softer/less textured backstrap grip would work for me but I got to thinking-Is it possible to take a softer rubber wraparound grip and mill out the area the grip scales normally go but leave enough material around the screw areas/some sort of liner so that you can use whatever grip vertec grip panels your Beretta can take IE Performance series or straight top, etc. and just screw through both?-I see a benefit in a rubberized liner providing mild shock absorption both for your hand and for anyone who wants to run wood grips. -Drawback would be buying "2" grips in a sense + a little bit of increased grip panel width but those could be thinned down. >See my shitty ass picrel for a drawing of it. -I want as good a grip feeling as possible but the stock wraparound was too bulbous or at least too strongly textured for me to get comfortable with it. But I'd also like some wooden or metal grips and those are only the vertec style scales. Something like this would be the best of both worlds. Am I just autistic and retarded about this?-Also 1 final thing, the slide serrations are well made but really fucking flat especially on the rear serrations. I'm used to CZ style ones where they come to more of a point. I don't need them deeper, I just need the trapezoidal shape more triangular. Front ones are fine because I can push back on the slide more easily but I am very used to pinching the rear serrations from behind the sight and pulling back on my CZs and the Beretta ones are just way too smooth to the rest of the frame to get a tight enough grip with how smooth & slippery the rest of the 92x slide is.
>>65319814Tanfoglio knowers I need qrd on this shooter. Some say it's nice, some say unreliable.
>>65321902NoThere are products that do kind of what you're describing, mostly from Hogue or Pachmeyer. Hogue makes products that tend to install over grips, and Pachmeyer or maybe someone else used to make partial rubber front/backstrap wraparounds that install by sandwiching the edges under existing gripsTry some other grips, or maybe a Hogue cock sockAs for the serrations idk what to say. A 92 is already exceedingly easy to rack, easier than a CZ's little tiny fingertip gripzone
>>65321902>>65321937>other gripsPic related, other products have different thicknesses and shapes
>>65321937I probably just need to practice a less pinch & pull method then. Because the serrations are so sharp/slide rides inside of frame meaning less real estate but also more horizontal pressure on the frame, I'm used to pointer/thumb of off hand on the back of my CZs and pulling hard. Target sights so I dont wanna interact with those at all on the beretta but I'll probably just get more used to racking from the front then. Thanks! Also I wish the spare parts for Berettas werent retard expensive, I want smaller safeties because they're mildly unpleasant to engage upwards w/ the thumb but more importantly they really restrict your clearance for dropping the slide. Might just put standard/brigadier controls on it or since I shoot left handed, leave the oversized safety on the right side or try to mill a mild curve/cutout on the front bottom of the safety that is easier to push against.
>>65321586Nice slim grips. I was thinking about putting slim bushings on my next build, probably a two tone commander with harrison grips
>>65321959If you aren't racking by push-pull method look into that. For 92s I almost exclusively use the scallops at the front anyway, I think they feel better and gib more control. You'll figure it outAnywho the closest thing to the grip product you want are the old M9A3 Hogue rubber wraparounds, but they're gone now and they're not compatible with the safety models. And you couldn't modify them to allow a plastic grip overtop if they wereIt looks like there are a LOT of new 92X Performance wraparound offerings since the last time I looked, it used to be only 2. Have a look around and give some different grips a try

How much do skills and training carry from gun to gun? Obviously manual of arms is different, those need to be practiced separately. But if I only take my carry piece to the range the marksmanship improvements pretty much carry over to my nightstand gun right?Assuming both are irons or both are optics.
>>65322037Fundamentals do but your personal maximum speed and precision won't because differences in ergonomic geometry change how you present, aim and break shotsThat said you get familiar with what you own and can be proficient with a wide variety of shapes and sizes, but it's not likely you'll be at your very best with more than one or two specific guns at a time

I am leaning toward an Alchemy Prime or Quantico based purely on aesthetics.I honestly find most of Nighthawk's lineup to be kind of ugly, and Les Baer's gaudy Trump gun is stupid enough to put me off them as a whole.
>>65321825>borderlinepantyboy moment
>>65322279no knowledge of ACW or Ed Brown. I don't particularly like ACW since their marketing guys suck at shooting and he is utterly repulsive looking and has a dick broom mustache https://youtu.be/dMdLUC7nbAgBill Wilson has never let me down, except a really old .45 Sentinel (3.5 inch) that burns through recoil springs super fast. My Elite Professional is perhaps the best 1911 I own record wise, thousands of rounds without a failure that was not mag related. I got it used for 2.3k. Wilson's optic cut seriously sucks though. Nighthawk's is so much better. Nighthawk despite me being 4/4 of having to send them back, their CS is very good. My most problematic gun which is a 10mm >NOTES>Initial Inspection: continued premature slide lock issues...this is the 4th time back for this same issue>NOTES>Replaced slide, barrel, extractor, firing pin stop, slide, and thumb safety - WWwhich they did for free and I didn't even buy it from them, I bought it used. I'm fairly certain they also redid all the upgrades that the gun had (serrated rear of the slide, IOS optic cut, DLC finish) which means they did like 2000 dollars worth of work fixing the gun. I think they could have just dimpled the slide stop so the detent has more to bite into but that doesn't fixed the problem but just the symptom, so they rebuilt the upper.
>>65322355also ACW is owned by Cabot who do those stupid art guns that never get shot
>>65322279Les Baer or nighthawk. Baer makes the most well fit semi customs for the money. Nighthawk makes the best full customs for the money. Nighthawk is "full custom" by virtue of the one gun one smith thing even though they make the same designs. You will not be unsatisfied with either. Alchemy is fine. Some people bitch about their quality for the price and exclusivity, the sprint run thing sucks. Ed Brown is really not a good value in current year. Check out Shauland Performance, Valor Precision, Pilot Mountain Arms and KC Customs as well. FWIW nighthawk puts really ugly grips on their guns and if you just change them out they look a lot more normal.
>>65322355>I don't particularly like ACW since their marketing guys suck at shooting and he is utterly repulsive looking and has a dick broom mustacheOh come on now, Eli is great. Guy has fantastic taste in guns and knows his stuff. He's a good shooter, it's the the pipsqueak redhead guy who sucks.I like the way ACW does their beavertail blends, trigger guard undercuts and square trigger guards. that's about it. As a builder I take their pistols as inspiration but I would never buy one
>>65322416Yeah I was looking for this video where they were shooting a .45 and it was >45 degree muzzle flip. Couldn’t find it, they might have deleted it.I take it back since I realize now he looks like that because of their magnum PI gun. Still not how I would present a gun. If I was doing marketing you wouldn’t even see my face, it would just be pictures of the gun and then I fly out one of those guys who makes the gun look like it has zero muzzle flip to shoot exploding water melons and soda jugs
>>65321512This range looks like a riot.
>>65322409I’ve read some horror stories of Les Baer on the fourms 1911 forum and 1911 addicts that makes me hesitant to recommend them They make beautiful guns but their hard fit style with 500 round break in gives me some pause. There is a guy who can’t even get his gun to unlock since it’s fit so tight on 1911 addicts right now to do the 500 round break in
What should we have Ben make a video of next?
>>65322437But that's not really a problem is it? After a few thousand rounds, or a few weeks of racking it and dry fire at home with snap caps it will be perfectly clearanced. I can't imagine being deterred by a gun thats too tight, personally. They still do hand checkering at baer which I think is neat. I am a 30yo boomer and the old fashioned way les baer's shop does their guns just appeals to me.Personally I'm at the level where I'd feel comfortable buying a caspian slide and frame and a kart NM barrel and just building the whole thing out with harrison small parts to my tastes. just don't have cash for that
>>65322416>it's the the pipsqueak redhead guy who sucks.1911syndicate has the eyes of an actual psycho killer. Guy creeps me the fuck out. Eli is tolerable when he's talking strictly about guns, but you can tell he's the sort of autist whose IQ drops to rock-bottom when it comes to anything other than his special interest. He also affects that goofy ass southern accent. Nails on a chalkboard to me.

>>65322437>>65322484>>65322530Obsession with slide to frame fit is boomerlore for morons who fingerfuck their guns more than they shoot them. 1911 accuracy lies in barrel to bushing and barrel to slide fit.
>>65322530I don’t think there is any proof that loose guns are more reliable
>>65322432That it does. In spite my lack of skill, it's everyone else that's shooting the floor and ceiling.>>65322351Your groups probably look worse than mine.

The two on the left both hold 8, right one holds 6. The si mags came with the gun or I would have never bought them. I got these magguts to try because I end up never using the si mags even at the range. Now the mags will start seeing use provided they pass the test tomorrow. The test is just shooting with them.
>>65322546Guns being built so tight that they need a 500 round break-in period isn't proof?
>>65322554
>>65322555No, an intentionally hard fit gun where the builder tells you to shoot it to wear in the barrel lugs is not evidence of slide to frame fit influencing reliability. Get your own proof. Go buy a rattletrap gun or take a stone to a nice gun to make it loose and reliable if you want.
>>65322554The follower in the middle magazine is FUBAR.

But ask him about swenson guns or wilson accucomps and he knows the most. >>65322530Okay so what? Nobody's taking a baer custom to war lol. They're competition/bullseye guns at best, range toys or safe queens at worst. It's well known that hard fit guns get destroyed by sand and humidity, so just don't carry one into war. Same reason you wouldn't drop into mogadishu with a .30 cal P210 or olympic target pistol. >>65322543Wow that is horrendous actually

>>65322596Perfectly reliable for bullseye/comp shooting totally drenched in light grease, yeah. You (or whoever said it) are right though that even a "normally" fit 1911 will still be more than accurate than the shooter, you can be competitive at anything with a slightly above average accurate 1911.There really isn't a need for the gun to be retardedly tight in current year, so yeah its boomer bait. It's actually not that hard, as a machine shop, to make a gun that is excessively tight, it's not like something to brag about. Making a gun that is both reliable and accurate is. I think Staccato is way underrated for how consistent they are at making exceptionally accurate pistols that also manage to pass the 11 testing criteria

When I shoot outdoors, I can reliably hit an index card sized piece of steel at 10 yards or more shooting at a steady pace of one round a second. Why is that? But then you look at the baseplate which clearly tells the another story. I'm actually baffled What were they going for here??
>>65323536I notice a difference in group size too and I've attributed it to my ligmatism playing up under fluorescent lighting and the ceiling baffles creating shaded/lighted zones because it happens when I'm indoors alone
>>65323643I already had a set of jewelers files and Dremel polishing bits that work a treat. I would not suggest sandpaper coarser than 400 grit to start, 600 should be fine to finish. And you will have to find something cylindrical to wrap it around which is exactly or slightly smaller in diameter than the takedown pin, because you must try to preserve that radius so the barrel isn't wibbly wobblyWhat I did was go back and forth between Dykem, reassembly, filing, Dykem, reassembly, filing to keep re-identifying the contact points and attack them bit by bit. It's hard to keep a tool perfectly square by hand, so you'll have to correct alignment mistakes on the next go around. Use a sharpie if you don't have Dykem. You can see from pic related that after bluing it's still pretty much only contacting the rearmost edge of the cutout, but the barrel locks in tight with no roll so that's where I left it

>>653226584 magguts+2 at the very least.
I’m getting a Glock to monkey with, want to put a thumb safety in it. What do I have to replace mechanically to get the crispest smoothest trigger possible, with the option to go in later with a file and lighten it up to taste?
>>65323895
>>65323921Ok, fine with that too :(
>>65323489I guess it depends on what your definition of ideal is for concealed carry - so not objective. But sure I hear ya
>>65323895>I’m getting a Glock to monkey with, want to put a thumb safety in it.I assume by "thumb safety" you mean a manual safety on the frame. They do make those so I'd recommend finding them used
>>65323298Yeah it was uneventful, which is what you want while concealed carrying
>>65324276Duh?
>>65324285Me personally, I try to avoid confrontations when I carry.
>>65324291Most everyone does this snowflake
I’m debating on getting a handgun for my beloved grandmotherShe’s like 70 and has arthritis so I have the feeling she’s going to get one shot off cause she’s not going to put in all that practice. Here’s my thoughts and idea>Glock store M1X. That’s a 19 frame and a 26 slide>Radian ramjet and afterburner barrel>Glock OEM flared magwellStreamlight flashlight and laser w/ the pressure pad contour. >Not sure about optic>Johnny glock competition trigger>Tangodown backplateMy thought process being if anything she will have one shot, and I want to make it as grandma friendly as possible. Which for me is hard cause my duty handgun straight up has brass weights in it for the sake of extra weight. I think the ramjet would be good because it balances out the snappiness of a sub compact Glock barrel I’m thinking the flared magwell may be overkill, but idk. I just really love her but I can’t always be around her
>>65324394I've had gun store boomers try to sell my mother on some small caliber revolver being easier to carry, maybe it was 32 acp? Either way, don't just buy your grandmother a glock with all the racing stuff. Unless she's a gun nut shooting her whole life, you'd be going strictly for>it's the thought that counts I guessin this situation.
>>65323521>people who don't post their shotsAre either nogunz or noshootz.>>65323536>lightingDefinitely, my combat accuracy extends to 15 yards outdoors because of the superior contrast and definition with mechanical sights. I've even rang gongs out to 50 yards at the state range where there are no RSO's around so no eye pro to screw with my sight picture but it's shutdown right now (seasonal).>>65323584I won't have target ammunition until next month ¯\_(ツ)_/¯>>65323650Hope you're having fun, Odin-75 anon.
>>65324437>combat accuracy>8inch groupsStop posting anytime
>>65324453Start shooting anytime.
>take other people's shooting>pretend it's yoursSo this is the power of not being able to afford ammo.
>>65324400I’m thinking on the racing stuff cause it plays well into being oldLighter trigger=easier on the hands that have arthritisLess recoil= easier follow up shotThe flared magwell is nice cause if she needs to reload it’s easier. But I doubt that she’d need to get to that point >Small revolver easier to carryI never understood that. It’s a lot of extra weight + a small caliber. So yeah, low recoil. But it’s way heavier than it needs to be. And shorter barrel= more recoil. Shit, maybe granny needs a Glock 45 or a 49. We shall see
>take other people's shootingSo he's ESL and noshootz, many such cases!
>>65324501Nice ten 3 anon. I’m currently debating on buying simichrome or flitz and polishing the inner front part of my gun to help with cyclingNot that it’s an issue, I just like having a super smooth gun
>>65324394Shield equalizer
>>65324437>it's shutdown right now (seasonal). That sucks. We're on summer hours here which sucks but at least I can shoot. Speaking of which, I have to go.
>>65324506Can never go wrong with a slick action, my good chum but I didn't polish anything there. The slide and gubbins are just soaked in CLP before I scrub them.>>65324538Good luck, have fun and take photos!
>>65324554>take photos!Yeah I saw some people arguing the other day and it lead to "post groups" so out of curiosity I checked my folder and I only have a handful of targets from a long time ago. This is from 2014 I don't even know what distance it was at but probably nothing impressive.
Well...Recommend me an IWB holster for the USP 45
>>65324625No
Anyone use 1 of these hidden gun safes? Thinking of buying 1 to store my pistol. They're "locked" with a magnet. Are they any good for the bedroom?
>>65324497I get what you're going for, but you're projecting onto her. Especially a gun as a gift? Have you talked to her? That's not the type of thing that you just go>surprise!for someone. I know I'm sounding like a faggot but I just don't want to hear about anon's grammy NDing or some other shit at worst. Also you're focused on the trigger, but what about racking the slide? My mother for example literally cannot rack any of my handguns.
>>65324656Or 1 of these holewor safes I've seen on amazon since their on sale.
>>65324656>>65324664Buy none and invest in a liberty safe for a few hundred.
>>65324658That’s why I referenced the tangodown backplate (so she can). It’s not a suprise gift either. I’m talking with her about it I also appreciate the concern, you are right that there is a lot more to it then just getting them a gun. It’s teaching gun safety and everything else If she can’t rack the slide even with the tango down backstrap they have stuff that works like an optic so she can rack the slide on the table
>>65324394I assume you own a gun, and possibly even a Glock, bring it to her and have her try and rack the slide. I'm willing to bet money she can't grab it hard enough to do so. I struggled to believe that any woman was actually weak enough to struggle with racking the slide until I handed my mom a gun, sometimes they really cannot do it. Get her a revolver.
>>65324664I have one of these from harbor freight in my desk, it's solid.
>>65324729Let’s seeI’ve handed her a Glock before. But her hands hurt that day and she didn’t want to rack the slide even
>>65324563>nothing impressive.Have you checked the groups by the general's self-appointed shooting expert?
>>65324674>invest>in a thing that loses half its new value immediately
>>65324691Gotcha.>tango down backstrapIf she has strength issues or arthritis, simply having more grip area won't do much. How does the M&P EZ series do it? They don't really explain it in as much detail as I would like.
>>65324437> I won't have target ammunition until next monthWhy the fuck would you need “target ammunition” to shoot a 13 round course of fire at 7 yards?
>>65324870>he thinks the 40APR dodge charger is a meme
>>65324870He’s still paying off the financing for his BCM upper and ACOG at 27% APR.
>>65324868Shit, I like the sound of itI will most definitely check into it
Are desert eagles actually fun to shoot or are they only for collecting and memes?
>>65324994yes
I blew it on the coin. The dot on my front sight is bigger than the coin. I definitely need to upgrade to optics. In other news, 300 rounds through the magguts today, about 100 of those were mag dumps, 0 malfunctions. That's about 18 reloads for each mag. I think that's good enough, I'm going to start carrying them. I'll keep testing them and do this again next week or the week after. >>65324437>Odin-75No comprende. >>65324625I only tried one and I don't recommend it. It was an aliengear back in like 2012ish.
>>65324870I think he means he only has defensive ammo and he doesn't want to use that for this. I don't blame him, dots are expensive.
>>65324394We.had a pretty big discussion on this topic like a month or two back. I think some of the best options were22 mag air weight j frame or LCR with a professional trigger job (to lighten it enough)Lcp max or bodyguard 2.0 with either ones dovetail optic or a milled optic to rack the slide. (May still need mag loader)The 380acp p365 luxe My vote is the 22 mag revolver as it's by far the simplest, maybe easiest to grab out of a purse, and you can put some fat plush rubber grips on it to make it even more comfortable for her.
>>65324563That's pretty good considering you were shooting in the dark>>65324870>“target ammunition”As opposed to defense ammunition for carry and at home.>13 round course of fire at 7 yardsWith my Buscadero Ticondas? Not happening.>>65325170I thought you were the anon that recce'd Odin holsters. In any case, well done ventilating those red coats!
SNAPbin wants to see your range results because he folders it and uses it different places to pass off as his own. Not even joking.
I never claimed anyone's pistol or range results as mine, no.
>>65325189>OdinOh I've never used them. This one is jmck and thanks to whoever recommended them.
>>65325228Anon, your muzzle crown.
>>65325228One quick wipe with a dry patch later. It would probably be better to put this image with the others instead of that holster pic.
>>65325237I'm pretty sure it's just dirty.
>>65325244NTA but when gets sooty like that I spray some clp on a microfiber cloth and it comes right off like new
>>65325244Hopefully so, pardner.
This drama is reminding me of 4-5 years ago when posts would show up in random threads bitching about a guy that didn't seem to exist. I can't remember the name, but I'm hoping somebody remembers what I'm talking about.
>>65325326While pantybin's credit score is virtually non-existent, he unfortunately (still) exists.
>>65320757>kel-tec p11 for sale at Cabelas for 100 bucksWould, for collection if nothing else.P11 was a significant step for the industry, the micro compact from before they were cool, and it was the precursor to the P32, which disrupted the entire mousegun market and forever invalidated the idea that straight blowback is a reasonable thing to do in a firearm optimized for carry.
>>65325343I read he owes over 70k to a man named anthony and another 20k to a man named moshe
>>65325392>>65325392>>65325392>>65325392
>>65325228>>65325238what light is this?
>>65325636tlr7a. I'm pretty happy with it and just in case it wasn't clear that is with it covered in carbon, it's quite bright without that. That's also 300 rounds worth from today and however many were on there from last time.
>>65320610The jury selection process usually filters arseholes like the ones that would think weapon customization = criminal intent. However, the prosecutor will cross examine anything that the judge allows like when Thomas Binger brought up Kyle Rittenhouse's computer game history (Call of Duty). Pieces of shit like that would try to use your favourite colour against you if the court let them even though none of that has ever resulted in a conviction.
