all of a sudden i really want the hellion, this handguard looks sick.sucks that it's only in 5.56, it's such a sexy gun.
Okay, keep me posted.
>>6531993910/4 will do o7
>>65319931Not sure how I feel about this. Looks weird.
>>65319931what the hell is this, some czech thing?
>>65319999Croatian.
>>65319995this thing looks cool as hellbullpup with a carry handle is peak
>>65320053That I'd agree with. What I don't love is the combination bipod-front handguard.
>>65320161there's a bipod on the handguard of the rifle you just postedthey sell that handguard without a bipod although i see no reason to get it
>>65319931>sucks that it's only in 5.56what would you want it in and why
>>65320010cool.
>>653201846.5 creed or .308 or 6 arc for greater range.5.56 doesn't really do anything particularly well, but it also isn't a jack of all trades, it's simply inefficient.it had already been outclassed in the prototyping stage by other intermediates.the one advantage it has is industry momentum, but it's not the only popular cartridge in the world,so that's not even a unique advantage.
are you prepared to pay 500 bucks for it?
>>65320207why not? consider the cost of a handguard and a bipod sold individually. now consider the weight.now consider how awful it would be ergonomically to put a normal bipod on a bullpup.there would be nearly no space left for your hand to go anywhere.picrel: look at how awful this setup is
>>65320205Why do you want a 308 bullpup with a 16" barrel and a not so great trigger
>>65320234they sell them with 18 or 20 inch barrels.a 16 inch 308 isn't really that bad anyways, you're only losing like 80 fps as compared to a 20 inch..308 is more of an "okay" caliber to me.i'd rather have 6.5 creed or 6 arc.you can get aftermarket match triggers, but i'm not really a huge trigger snob in any case.
>>65320178You getting enough sleep, anon? The FAMAS does not have a combined front handguard and bipod, it has a bipod integrated. OP's image of the VHS 2 shows a combination handguard-bipod, much like the L2A1 seen here.
>>65320253hey why are you typing like this?
>>65320269i think it's more readable

>>65320329This nigga out here posting in stanzas for fun.
>>65320330
>>65320255i mean yeah it's kinda different but not majorly.i don't really understand the objection. is this just an aesthetic issue?
>>65320376Yes, entirely.
>>65319931I have one in ODG and am probably going to sell or trade it soon.
>>65320385i think it needs a better handguard to really work imo. nowhere good to mount stuff.is that why you're selling it?
>>65320385>canHow much gas does this thing spit in your face when you suppress it, anon?
>>65320010Gezuntihitit.
>>65320399No, I didn't want to add anything more to the rail. It shoots just fine, though the recoil is kinda weird. The gun is heavy, like 13lbs as configured, and since it's a bullpup, you're holding your hand further out. I also would rather trade it for an AP5/MAC5 since I'm on an ammo budget and any 5.56 goes to my AR instead. It's a good suppressor host and has been completely reliable.
>>65320161Then design something better you fucking sour pickle. I swear, people with the least creativity vare the worst critics.
>>65320414isn't it 8 pounds naked? that's some heavy shit you put on it.
>>65320402None, it's a really good suppressor host since the rear of the frame is sealed, unlike an AR where gas leaks out between the recievers and through the charging handle. The stock gas block has two settings and it runs smoothly with or without the can.
>>65320382you don't really notice the bipod when it's folded, that's kind of the point really. looks pretty slick
>>65320425I might be misremembering but it's definitely heavy and feels proportionally heavier than an AR because your trigger hand is further out than on a comparable AR. The Steiner LPVO is like a pound, the Omega 300 and mount is another, a full magazine is another, and the scope mount and light add more weight. You could definitely shave the weight down by using lighter accessories and leaving off the suppressor. I am out of town, otherwise I would weigh it.
>>65320442most bullpups are just plain heavier than ARs.the hellion has that big ass oprod.a regular AR is like 6 pounds.
>>65320453It was fun, just wasn't my thing and it doesn't really do anything better than my ARs. Definitely a worthwhile rifle if you want something unique while not needing proprietary magazines.
>>65320463yeah i have been looking at attachments for it for a while because i know if i ever got one i would need to fix the shortcomings.there are a few stocks on the market that are way shorter than the factory one which i think is absolutely necessary.now that there's a good handguard available i might grab one.the unfortunate consequence of these guns being different is that they're unrefined, like many others.
>>65320476I have considered the shorter stock. I'd also suggest changing the grip to a different one, the included B5 has a small nub leading towards the trigger guard that becomes a hot spot on your trigger hand after sustained shooting. I filed mine off.
>>65320487good to know. i was looking at the OG vhs grip.or maybe getting a printer and making a thumbhole cutlass grip that integrated the magwell, similar to the halo 5 DMR
>>65320496I think that would look good and would address the issue.
>>65320501i wish more pups had thumbholes.it's so cool
>>65320427That's pretty sweet.
>>65319931I owned a 20" version. I ended up selling it. It was nice, fantastic suppressor host but I think I will be getting a 16" version eventually because it'll be better for that.
>>65320453>a regular AR is like 6 pounds.more like 7 pounds, and that's unloaded. an empty XM177 with no accessories is ~6.5lb. your average civilian 16" AR is probably more in the neighborhood of 7-8lbs unloaded depending on the amount of doohickeys attached. for reference, my AR is as follows:furniture: B5 SOPMOD stock, A2 grip, M4 RASaccessories: M600DF, KAC broomhandle, LT799+TA31+RM07barrel: 14.5" carbine gas SOCOM profile w/ an SF3Pit weighs 9lb 11oz (lol 9/11 GWOT) in this configuration, when I get an RC2 it'll be about 10lb 11ozsome bonus component weights for fun, some I've measured myself (rounded to nearest whole oz):LT799+TA31+RM07: 16ozM600DF w/18650: 5ozKAC broomhandle: 4ozM4 clamshell handguard w/ double heatshields: 6ozM4 RAS weight: 9ozB5 SOPMOD stock: 12ozwaffle (M4) stock: 7ozCAR stock: 4oz
>>65322490the bcm recce 16 (basic free float AR) is 6 pounds
>>65319931>22" LoPlol
>>65320376It's majorly different though.
>>65325592>manlet spotted
>>65320205>caliber autist thinks he knows better than every military force on earthJust another day on /k/. Why come 7.62 became 5.45 and why come the chineses did the same? Maybe it’s because no one needs to shoot past 300m with an infantry rifle and everyone does need a lightly recoiling round that fucks people up just the same.
>>65320161FAMAS > VHS 1 > VHS 2
>>65322490>RAS>broom handle>light and lasersJesus. A naked modern AR is 6.1-6.3 lbs unloaded. Build it yourself and you can get it around 5.8 lbs without sacrificing durability. All you need after that is a light, a sling, and an optic which shouldn’t add more than a 1lb or 1.5lb if you’re not using a dot. Add another lb for a loaded mag. 8.5 lbs fully loaded is much lighter than any bullpup. Facts. You gotta get off the guntube buddy and do some shooting
>>65325706bullpups weight is all on the rear tho, it allow you to keep aiming for a longer time without having to rest the gun on something.
>>65325688the military has adopted 6 arc and 6.5 creed
>>65319931It's a bullpup... with a stock. It's so long what's the point? Also baby caliber.
>>65319999Some Helghan thing
>>65325773>some elements of the special forces are currently doing trials for 6 arc and 6.5 creedthere, FTFY
>>65325699>chin weld > cheek weldIt's so easy to spot nogunz posters in the wild.
>>65325903they have been in service for years now
>>65320487>>65320496I run a Magpul MOE+ grip on mine. The angle of the Hellion's grip attachment point puts it at a much more comfortable angle than the 25 degrees it sits at on an AR. I haven't measured it out, but it think its something like 20 -21 degrees.
>>65320205>.308>le bullpupGet a T7 or RFB then homo and stop crying
>>65326015those both suck
