I would like to inquire why they have gotten so expensive? I have quantified it could be for the following reasons but want to hear your thoughts:>general price jumps in guns/ammo>older generation wanting to get as much money as possible before getting rid of their stuff>vendors assume haggling will take place so inflate price>laws and legal behind guns
its a sellers market. demand is still at a record high, supply is still way being dedicated to foreign war efforts and building of domestic stockpiles, several domestic manufacturing plants suffering catastrophic fires, government fear mongering and the looming threat of assault weapons bans on state and federal levels.
>>65322179Printing 7 trillion dollars and locking up half the world for months to fight a disease will do that, as well as fighting the biggest war Europe has seen since WW2 alongside the usual GWOT shit, while opening the borders to undocumented migrants and rapefugees because "wir schaffen das"
>>65322179Most trade shows are events where companies gather to showcase their latest products and services. Unfortunately, gun shows have become a way for gun businesses to fleece enthusiasts. The normal consumer who wants a gun for self-defense doesn't go to a gun show. A gun collector or hobbyist shows up and is sometimes forced to pay a premium for finding something he really wanted.
>>65322179It's greed, anon.That's literally it.
>>65322179Because the ability to instantly see what guns sell for all over the country from your pocket computer became the norm. You don't find deals anymore because the people selling their "collectible" shit are demanding peak auction house prices no matter the condition or actual rarity. You also have actual dealers (especially pawn shops) hocking shit at 10-20% above MSRP because people buying shit at gun shows are often too stupid or impatient to wait a few days or keep an eye out for a better price. Any actual wheeling and dealing to be done was done between sellers before the show even started.
Greed, plain and simple. The only things I ever find worth buying at gun shows anymore are the display pieces that aren't for sale.>I know what I've got
economy bad
>>65322198>its a sellers market. demand is still at a record highIt's not in states that don't have AWBs incoming.
>>65322179Because dollars are worth less, dipshit.
>>65322328>>65322378I went to a gun show last month, and in 19 years of attending gun shows, I believe the same vendors are there trying to sell the same ammo that they've had since the 90s. One guy there was ancient and wanted $900 for his Colt Detective Special without the original grips or box, and Ruger P95s are still $300 after 20 more years of use. Another dude had a table full of mags for almost every gun ever built, but was well aware of their gunbroker pricing. I even got told that a vendor's cardboard cutout of a terrorist with a bomb vest wasn't for sale. On top of that, I didn't find a single bag of once fired .38 special brass. I didn't even bother looking at the prices for rifles, but I did get a homemade package of lilac scented wax that I used to make wax bullets for July 4th fun.
>>65322426What amuses me the most is the knowledge that for all they say how much it's worth it's going to either get wholesaled via consignment, sent to an estate auction and fetch 50-70% of average value, or outright end up getting turned in for a handful of walmart gift cards through a buyback after they die. What a unique, highly desirable museum or genuine collector grade piece fetches is not what your clapped out and beat up turd will.
Surplus isn't coming in like it used to and has dried up a lot as well.
Dem states like Virginia keep passing insane laws like mag bans which creates a panic where people will often pay anything for what theyre looking for.
>>65322179BOOMER FAGGOTRY RUINS ALL
>>65322179>Why are [x] so expensive >
>>65322687>BOOMER FAGGOTRY RUINS ALLThis. Boomers did what boomers do and destroyed gun shows.Their parents generation sold used guns so cheap that young people with shit jobs could try out the hobby without selling a kidney. Boomers sell used guns for a profit. You are expected to buy their ham and deviled egg smelling used handguns for a price that is somehow higher than the price for a new one in a brick and mortar store that doesn't charge admission.
>>65325523Boomers fucking up gun shows is one of the most unforgivable things of all... if I hadn't seen a ton of them gloating about fucking over their family in their wills. This is not "market sucks bro".
>>65322517I don't understand it at all. The online Boomer hate is usually annoying spam, but >>65325523 is right and something caused that generation to worship the chase of the "good deal" to the detriment of everything else. It's fun being into both guns and cars, because the "I know what I got" stereotype is 100% real and it makes no sense to see a person on death's door still desperately trying to extract every last dollar out of a sale.
>>65322687>>65325523I can't wait to overcharge you faggots and all no gunz loser faggots just like you!
>>65325535And you too... this is capitalism. Welcome to fair market value. Unfair? Don't buy, bitches.
>>65322179all the good deals happen the day before when the vendors are setting up; the public gets the overpriced dregs.
