Just a strange mix of things looking kind of cheap with sailors lying around being lazy (and then grabbing their shit and literally running away terrified as the guided press tour came through) plus really stiff officers (in that communist sort of way) combined with propaganda everywhere. Former Australian Army here.I went over to Ukraine in 2023 with the 3rd Assault Brigade and did their basic training with them hoping I could transfer to Chosen Company and serve with some other westerners. The Ukrainians were a bunch of corrupt alcoholic retards and I found the language barrier impossible to overcome. The people I met were just shit cunts. I had money stolen, my fucking merino wool socks and thermal underwear stolen, and all the people were constantly begging me for shit all the time like they thought I was some kind of millionaire.I kept asking and messaging the guys at Chosen trying to get my command to agree to a transfer and they were just fucking me over saying how higher up had to approve it and how I should stay in my current unit and right before we were supposed to go off to pre-deployment training I had a heart to heart with myself and realised I couldn't trust any of the people around me in a barracks and I definitely couldn't trust them in combat, and that I was most likely going to get killed for no reason in a shithole full of awful people who couldn't care less about me. I ended up breaking contract and going home but seriously fuck Ukrainians and fuck their stupid country. I unironically hope everyone I met there is dead now.

From what I've experienced of them, the South Koreans would absolutely get their shit stomped by the norks. I've watched them conga line an entire platoon into a prepared machine gun just to capture a single, tiny, one room building. For some reason there was no thought of throwing in grenades or using artillery, just zoom 30 guys in and hope you capture it with one guy still standing
