They're good. HK 45 and P30 are better options in the 21st century, unc
>>

depends if you want one for serious use or just to have one. The USP is about 30 years out of date features wise now. If you want an HK pistol for serious use I'd just recommend getting a VP9A1 and calling it a day. If you just want something to fuck around with, it's a great gun
>>
>>65332411
Also do not buy the 9mm model of the USP. It is way too overbuilt for a 9mm pistol. Try to snag a .40 or .45 instead

Well the hk45 is made in the USA and thus inferior to the German made USP
>>
>>65332420
As someone with all three, get a P30 if you actually intend on using it at least somewhat seriously (carry/defense/competition, etc). The USP is cool but has a dinosaur of a proprietary rail that won't take shit without an adapter and the trigger is meh at best and shit at worse. The HK45 is a kneecapped USP 45 with worse capacity. The P30 is like what would happen if they made the HK45 correctly but in 9mm and .40 instead of.45.

Also none of them come with optic cut slides, so expect to fork over more cash because HK genuinely sucks and rides off their reputation in movies and video games.

look for an older pre-owned one like I have (mine was like-new unfired)
>>
>>65332395
I had a P30 and kept the USP. The P30's DA trigger was much worse, the trigger reach was too short for my spider fingers, and the safety stuck way out. USP is a little large and blocky but it's more more comfortable for me to shoot.
>>
Are USP .40s still super cheap or did the pandemic take care of that?

It was very good and groundbreaking for the time. You can still buy and use them, like a 1980s Jaguar. Much better options available today, the HK 45 and P30 are the standard.

That said I bought one because it fits my hand like it was made for me and points so well that the sights are basically an accessory and I had no control over that. It's also dead accurate and whatever teutonic gnome magic HK has going with their dual recoil spring isn't just marketing. That fact that everyone's favorite alcoholic glowie sexpot carries one was just happy coincidence.

This anon fucks.

The USP platform is pretty timeless. Beyond just pop culture its recoil reduction is no joke, I definitely recommend getting a full size one in 45 if you want a piece that can double as both a woods gun with hotter 45 hard nose rounds or urban carry. Plus, it'll probably outlive you.

It may be bulky, but my 45 with the lem and reset kit is frequently carried strong side 4 o'clock with a vest or jacket over it with no printing. The brutalist European look goes pretty hard. Only polymer handgun I've ever liked. So much so, I bought a MK23.

Funny story, I went to the range with a buddy about a month ago to shoot his new (used) break action 12 gauge, and my bootleg 1887. I brought my usp .45 as well. After we shot the 12 gauge we put some rounds through the usp. We were at an indoor range an the way he was standing was holding the gun out in front of the booth so as he was firing the usp's consistent ejection path was throwing brass right in front of the black dudein the next stall over, preventing him from removing his target from the sled without getting his souls brass killed by God's casing.

I have one. The aesthetic is great and it’s bomb proof but as others have said it’s wildly out of date. Mags are absurdly expensive, holsters are hard to find, the lack of a picatinny rail is a pain in the ass and rail adapters just add another failure point. Adding shit onto rails or using adapters make holsters harder to find too. H&K is too autistic to just make an updated version of the USP and instead release slop pistols. People on here seethe endlessly when I say H&K hasnt been relevant or innovative since the 90s.
>>
>>65332570
Look at those absolute safe queens. Have you even shot those?
>>
>>65332411
>>65333749
Besides the rail and the lack of an optics cut, are they out of date in any other way? I have an M9 i like shoot with and I really dont mind shooting with iron sights and Im not really looking for accessories
>>
>>65333770
They've never been out of date, they're just old but still better than newer guns, these are complaints most people will never bother with. The vast majority of gun owners don't mount a light or optic or care about the trigger being (((bad))). The usp is one of the most reliable, shootable guns ever made and being old doesn't change that.

They're big and chunky in a way modern pistols usually aren't, plus they use plastic magazines that the industry has gone away from. But they're good guns. Overbuilt for 9mm since they were designed for .40 in the beginning.
>>
>>65332487
Similar experience. I have a USP 40 and 45, plus VP9, but sold the P30.
>>
I don't know why they never changed it to a pic rail. I know they keep trying to discontinue the thing and replace it with new guns, but the market is strong enough they have to keep it in production. They already changed the mold for a new logo so you'd think a rail wouldn't be impossible.

Stop while you're ahead. This is a feature that you decide you like as a cope because you think the gun it comes on is cool. This isn't a feature you choose a gun based on.

Any HK is cooler than any Walther could ever be and the PDP is a fat abortion with an oversized slide. Anyway buy a Beretta or CZ if you're not buying a Glock.
>>
I like DA/SA triggers but the USPs is kind of twitchy. Easy to get an unwanted double tap compared to sig/cz.

i have over 20 usps, one of virtually every variant including authentic match and elite 9mms, and carry a uspc 357 sig. they're easily my favorite polymer handgun but i can admit that plenty of other modern guns do the same job nowadays. i will argue however that the rail "issue" is overblown and easily resolved with an adapter. if you're looking for a da/sa polymer, you should definitely consider one
>>
>>65332390
>>65332395

I have been waffling between a USPC and P30 for my first HK. P30 makes so much more sense. Larger mags, better sights, rail, feels better in hand, $300 cheaper. But it doesn't have those square vibes.

Right there you already know it's bullshit.

The Federal test gun is a USP with over 300,000 rounds and they don't lie about the many parts replacements it's had over that time.
