Once again a russian heli has been downed by an FPV, this time by it literally chasing the fucking thing down, this time an Mi-28N.

Is the air space just so saturated with drones that this keeps happening?
>>
>>65332951
I'm no expert, but wouldn't it be better to target the tail assembly? Trying to hit the main rotor while it's in motion risks that the drone will get broken up without detonating
>>

>>65332955
Thought the same, but I think it'd be hard to hit the tail here because drone has to basically dive onto it to have enough speed to catch it, at least that's what it seems like. Probably thought it's better to hit and to miss the target completely.

It did apparently make an impromptu landing after that, though in what state isn't clear.

is it just me, or isn't that a bit of a rare sighting? I feel like there's a bunch of Soviet equipment that just never really showed up to the party, like the Shilka (I know its total ass, but they could make the tracked garden sheds off the chassis, that kind of thing)
>>
>>65332967
It is! Pretty sure it's the first one we've seen in Ukraine. Really wonder what's up with that.

>>65332965
Still two times too many, given the circumstances that have to occur for it to happen. And Ukrainian helis haven't suffered similar fates as far as I know, sure they have less and use them sparingly, but still.

i think large part of russian grain and vegetable oil exports on top of other things go thru that sea, they cant just close it without killing economy.
Seen few threads about it and there is river route from azov sea to moscow via some kind of canal that connects wolga and don rivers. So they are hauling absurd amounts of grain and other thing via rivers and canals to ports on Azov sea, then they load that stuff onto larger sea ships and everything must sail thru azov sea, wait near kerch bridge for pass, pass under bridge to black sea. They cant go with via trains or trucks for more secure ports simply due to amount of stuff we are talking about. Its not like highly profitable high margin business and river transport can move large amount of grain for cheap compared to train or trucks

I had simillar idea during last years heatwave and drought. They could load few drones from entire wave with small thermite incendiary charges, hundreds of them, program it to fly above random forests in russia and throw one incendiary charge every 1km or something like that. So in addition to the burning refineries, the system would be overloaded with thousands of forest fires

Add to that how big farms are in russia, add to that older bigger tractors with not so great fuel efficiency, it could be disaster for them. Windows when u can harvest crops are not so big too, sometimes between rains and storms u have to do it no matter what, if u cant because there is no fuel it could be over because everything went bad

These are not river tankers they are big oceangoing large crude carriers, at least 50K tons. This means that ukraina is now striking in the black sea south of the kerch strait with their air drones.
>>
>>65333277
These are sea ships, river stuff is smaller and it sticks to river and canals hauling russian grain and other stuff from don and wolga rivers to ports of azov sea and there everything is packed into bigger vessels.
What we see are sea ships on mooring (i dont know if its correct world, esl) waiting for pass under kerch bridge. Thats why there is so many of them so close to each other.
>>

Nice find but it appears to showing burning ukrainan ships south and south east of Odessa. These two spots on the left are 100 km directly south of Odessa harbor. Thats a no go zone for russian ships since the battle of that small island off the coast of ukraine.

If you want to spot burning russians, you need to look to the very right in your screenshot. you can see the Kerch strait to the right side, just below the vertical middle.
>>
>>65333185
>It seems to be targetting the big boy tankers that can't go under the bridge/have too deep draught for SoA.

The Kerch bride has a height limit of 115 feet / 35 meters. You can fit a pretty tall ship under that. But it has a depth limit of 8 meters, which is not very much, and in practice you would not go there with more than 6.5-7 meters of draft.

These ships are too deep of draft to pass trough the Kerch straits. They must be offshore of some russian oil terminal to load oil.

A fully loaded VLCC has a draft of 25-30 meters. It cant pass trough the Kerch strait even when unloaded. I guess they are parked off Novorossisk.

that's $12.81. i assume that's per kilo and not per each individual tomato. that's still $5.81 a pound and the median russian monthly income is $939.25. These people are going to barely afford food let lone fuel, housing, and discretionary spending

naw. the average russian will lay down and starve to death instead if rebelling. there were many localized famines after the 1917 revolution and through the pre-WW2 Stalin days, including the Holodomor, and there still wasn't any major rebellion. Russian men and their family members will see them shoved in a van, sent to the frontline, and told to march to their death and they simply do it. The best chance for the war to end is an economic collapse spurning the wealthy elite to make a move to get rid of monke

No aktshually, russia and ukraine provided grain to many a poor african country. Big outcry when russia blocked ukraine from delivering said grain, because famines and shit.
Now it depends on how much grain russia can harvest, we don't know. If there are losses, will they sell (holodomor mentioned in video) and starve russians or feed their own but you get famines in africa. This is going to be fun in a few months.
>>
>>65333449
Well, any African nation being run by Africa Corps will certainly get their shipments to save face.
>>
>>65333391
AKHSHUALLY, they sort of do.
In a weird Soviet, well-yes-but-actually-no way.

They cherish the idea of the ideallized hardy, crafty peasant farmer who always gets by no matter what. . .but actual real-life farmers (much like the farm cooperative workers in Soviet times) are looked down upon.
>>
>>65333449
One of the goals of Russia (not stated) was to control the grain to supply African states in order to get favourable deals in return. This would screw China, Europe and USA. So they would in turn have to get better deals with them in order not to screw the chain with those countries. The fact they'd control oil and gas and prevent Ukraine selling it to the EU was the main goal, but the benefit of controlling the logistic train throughout the world via food imports was also a bonus.

There is a difference between 1917 and the later famines.
1917 was a far more widespread famine, and a (losing) war, and inflation, and a politicaly inept Czar who essentialy maneuvered himself into a position where he took the blame for several of the crises.
The government lost control over parts of the army (i.e. mass mutiny), and this resulted in the two revolutiions that year.

The later famines were more localized (and sometimes weaponized), and could not lead to rebellion because Soviet control remained strong enough at a regional level, and in several cases because the government deployed the army pre-emptively.

Today, Russia is headed more into oa 1917 situation, though it is happening more slowly. OTOH, the government will be able to extract support from Belarus and Kazakhstan, and they willl probably get food support from China because Xi does not want Russia to descend into ciivil war adn/or warordism

>some time passes
You produced some wealth - here comes Tsar registrar and tax you to the ground and very possibly order you in front of the firing squad or to Siberia
>some time passes
You produced some wealth - here comes local party commissar with NKVD in tow, confiscate everything and for sure either shot you on sight or send you to gulag for speculation and for being a subversive being in the pay of western reactionists.

Afer literall hundreds of years of continuous treatment like that, even the most stubborn peasants will learn their lesson and make sure to never attract the attention of these higher on the totem pole by having anything above a bare minimum.
As a bonus you learn to always lie, decieve, misguide, never trust anybody and be ready to denounce that (in reality equally poor) fucker living next to you at any moment, as this can avert an attention of these in power from your own miserable existence (in other words, you became a typical Russian 'citizen')
>>

Well yes, but he doesn't just want to take it.

To undo the humiliatioon, Russia has to hand it back to him.

The issue is that you didn't need to leave the village. The whole issue is that in russia a fuck ton of farmers, even if somehow they were free (e.g. a lot of people avoided serfdom by migrating into bumfuck regions of Siberia, which was a win-win for the czarist regime), were living and working as a part of the collective commune. This "worked" but destroyed any sort of incentive to work even just enough more than enough to get by, since no matter how good you'd work, how diligent you'd be with your stuff, the results would get spread out to all people in the commune, including the lazy drunk retards. Stolypin's agriculture reforms basically allowed people to separate themselves out from the commune and work as regular private farmers, which instantly had a fucking' great effect: more efficiency in farming and agriculture, people becoming wealthier, production booming, whole regions becoming wealthier, etc, basically a class of efficient wealthy private farmers in the US style started forming, but on top of the butthurt mentioned in the thread before it also caused butthurt, envy and resentment from the people who stayed in the commune, which suddenly lost its productive members and thus lazy bums didn't have a free ride anymore.

>>65333576
You're conflating emancipation from serfdom with Stolypin's agriculture reforms.
>>
>>65333578

My favorite point is "real communism haven't been tried" and "USSR wasn't communism". Like bitch open up a history book, bolsheviks enacted "real communism" almost since day one and it destroyed everything which was still a thing by that point. It's after this communism that Lenin had to turn back to market (the NEP - new economic policy), to prevent a total collapse and rely on market forces and private enterprise to rebuild the economy. Before Stalin rolled this back during the industrialization shitfest. The shitfest communism phase of the early years then retroactively was rebranded as "war communism" to try and whitewash the communism brand away from it. But since everyone knew how fucked up it was the regime had to pretend that it will be reached sometime later, like by 1980s, and for now socialism is enough.

They've shown up here and there. My theory is they're being bottlenecked by powerplants since the originals were made by motor sich. Allegedly, they have had a domestic replacement since 2016 but we know the pace these things go at.

Add on top of that the KA-52s likely getting more attention in their own fleet and the need to prioritize their export customers.

>Shilka
They've shown up here and there but the years have not been kind to their soviet rube goldberg electro-mechanics.
Russia has also been transitioning away from 23mm since before the fall of the USSR so many of those not lost to storage attrition have likely been sold.

Quite a few were. Problem is, Russian society held back Russia from achieving its full potential. It's why Sikorsky could go to Burgerland and create fantastic seaplanes and helicopters, while Soviet aeroengineers were working from Gulags, designing passable airframes dependent on foreign engines.

When Ukraine become a independent country after SU collapse they unironicaly inherited a very few Shilkas from Russians. If I remember correctly it was literally not even a one brigade. And these meager numbers were further lowered afterwrds, because they were selling these (and spare parts they hve) to various African countries. So when war started, what they have at their disposal were literally rusting leftovers than not even niggers want to buy with barely any spare parts. Nowadays, these few ZSU-23-4 that can still be sometimes seen are mostly Polish modernized units called 'Biala', delivered to them from Poland (duh).

Diesel is so important to agriculture I'm surprised that more countries don't have a much deeper level of understanding of just how critical it is, thats not even including all the logistics normie shit of getting products to a market and consumers because semi trucks are greedy boys too when it comes to fuel.

They'd be committing a slew of serious crimes in USA before they did anything off-shore.
Yes, they don't exactly face the same justice as us but the crimes would be real and the government gets a bit irritable when private parties decide to muscle in on the war business.

1. You have to be a psychopath to think that was anything but awesome. kudos to that kid. (Not directed at the poster, just saying it in general)

2. Targeting gas stations might back fire since they are specifically civilian and the putin could then try to frame the war as existential 'we need to fight or the Ukrainians will kill you all' Also, being an assholes who target civilians is the Russian way.
This too >>65333205, Ukraine is not going to run out of other targets and it's better to keep interdicting oil and destroying military and oil complexes.

He could always do this when he wanted. Fsb is always ready for a false flag operation on their own citizens. Any pls-hold-back argument is faulty, only thing that works against them is to hurt them as much as possible.

That possibly includes both strike drones and interceptors as well as FPVs.

IIf thinngs realyl spiiral out of control in Russia, China could intervene.

But the top #1 important thing for the CCP is to maintain power and internal stability, directly followed by maintainning and gaining prestige.
They have beenn loudly and openly preparing to attack Taiwan foor years nooowo, building ships, carriers, drone carriers, those anndingn bridige things, planes, long range missiles, amphibs, light tanks etc.
And not a word about their convenntinal land forces, except the occasional pic . . .the last of which showed them using their Temu HIMARS to shrek an S400 mockup.

And they are big, and I mean BIG on strategic deception.

Oh I'm still sweating, like I only have a couple of river acres set aside for irrigated hay production as my main grown crop, the rest is sheep and cattle so they're much lighter on the fuel costs apart from transporting. But they'll still be on at least 4 truck transport runs before they end up on anyone's table.
I can not mow hay and be 'alright' but it'd be a substantial amount of lost cash and we're coming into a long drought season so its the guys like me who prop up the other farmers during that so they can keep their herds intact.

>Why do sheep keep bullying dogs?
Some of the big crossbred and english pure-breeds are pretty chonky critters. Like even a big crossbred ewe with a couple of lambs is still 60-70kg of cranky animal and they can assert themselves about pretty well. That's before we even get into rams, which are just fucking hilarious up until its you on the receiving end of 100kg/220lb of 'nut sack height' trouble in which case its deadly serious!
