It's actually possible. Mateba essentially got bought out by a con artist who took orders for a new production run, took the money, and went radio silent. But as far as anyone can tell, he did take possession of the company assets, including the tooling to make the guns - ergo, he could have fulfilled those orders if he wanted to. What I'm getting at here is that there is a chance that he could sell the tooling to someone else, to start a new production run of Unicas; a con artist will wring every last cent out of the assets they have, after all.

>>
>>65335954
that's great anon, super cool.

Except rims still impact reliability in magazines, lower capacity, and more importantly would mean more material would need removed from the bolt face to make a wider opening for a rim. That would probably lead to bolts shearing lugs very rapidly, or simply cracking, not great when the cartridge is already pushing the limits.

Or they could use a larger bolt and carrier, which would mean needing entirely custom receivers, probably barrel nuts, barrel extensions, buffers, etc as well. Or you can shave the rim the fuck off on your toy nobody actually shoots.

Im so mad that i cant get a teppo. You can either pay 1.5k for an edo era original id never want to actually shoot, or you make your own from nearly scratch with a pederaoli flintlock barrel or whatever. The only matchlock repros are all for euro designs and even those tend to be more expensive than original edo teppo
>>
>>65337588
Yeah it really does suck, I know some still use the old Teppo's for shooing but I rather would have new one to shoot often with. It really shouldn't be as niche product with those other matchlocks like Brixia that are coming in you'd think that someone would start production up even it's a small amount. The only one's I know for sure you could get a Teppo although it would be a bit expensive commission a bit is Old Guard Manufacture over in Europe, and some company in Spain for a Tanegashima pistol https://avancargasarsa.com/producto/tanzutsu/

>>
>>65337735
>real ones unlikely to be fired, mostly wall hangers, potentially dangerous
Ofc a shooting repro would cost more.
>>
>>65336669
It's a different kind of unobtanium anon, it's like having a super-fast car and wanting to incorporate its max speed in your everyday life (not on a racetrack), but obviously you can't because of laws and the cops that enforce said laws. Sure, I can easily acquire the gun itself, but to enjoy it fully without laws and their enforcers getting in the way... Yeah, I can't get the full high and therefore it's ultimately unobtanium.
>"Just like shoot it in the woods and break the law."
I'm an upstanding citizen of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, besides God is watching.

Anywho, I'll admit that perhaps that was a pretty abstract version of "unobtanium" so here's another example of mine that's more grounded:
>Merwin & Hulbert (1st or 2nd model) Frontier Model in 44-40 or 44 special with multiple barrel lengths.
44 special Merwin & Hulberts don't exist, finding one in shootable condition is a bit of a chore, usually the ones selling additional barrels are rare, pretty expensive, and don't seem to come up too often... Guaranteed by the time I track one down with even half of my desires, it'll be taken and put into a safe, never to be shot again. Given that Uberti is resurrecting the Volcanic Pistol, perhaps in time someone will finally start making reproductions of Merwin & Hulberts... Though I doubt I'll be seeing that within this decade, maybe even the next.

A bit hard to sell a reproduction firearm (expensive and risky to do to begin with usually) when you chamber it in a caliber that's not readily available; plus, it's a lever-action pistol, it would be amusing to pair it with a lever-action rifle (or shotgun even).

Unobtanium for 8 different reasons.

There are actually a number of one-off variants made for individual operations, due to the rifles small core dimensions. The main value to an operator being is configurability and the variety of ammo available.

I don't think a single one has ever been retired, so greatly are they coveted by Russian forces that they aren't souvenired either. But i touched one. Once.

The entire forestock is a giant "ski" with similar function to one of the bipod skis like the L39. IIRC the .950 JDJ is so heavy and bulky that a bipod capable of withstanding the weight or stress the gun puts on it, would have to add a substantial amount of extra weight to the gun.

If I recall correctly, as with a lot of things, the high pressure in cartridges naturally want to take the path of least resistance; normally it'll just be the bullet since the firing pin hole is smaller than the primer, but if you were to make the firing pin hole bigger (remove the recoil plate), the primer due to not having anything holding it back will become a 2nd weak point. The primer shooting out at fast speeds along with the pressure following behind it, will escape through that enlarged firing pin hole and hit the hammer, and since the trigger is likely still being held down (disengaged with the hammer), it'll continue to fire until out of ammunition or until the trigger is reengaged (the latter might break the hammer notches so be wary).
>>
>>65361796
>and all that also revolves the cylinder somehow
Is this the new "format C: if you want another gig of memory"?
>>
>>65361861
Yes, the hammer moving will revolve the cylinder.
Moving. all. the. way. back.
Not happening with what you described, which at best would be some kind of primer actuated blowback.
Which is something that only works in a firearm that has been very carefully designed to use it.
Aka, what's keeping that pressure from taking the path of minimum resistance and just bleed around the hammer or transfer bar?

I just wanna see this thing on FW at the very least. Just so weird. They never made any other guns that weren't something that shot 22LR (or ammo using its bullets). They never made any gun that wasn't either basically an air rifle or a zinc receiver 22, so why THIS? Was it a 700 derivative? Winchester? Something wholly new and unique? Is this some elaborate detailed joke? Am I just retarded?

>>65337967
I've been tempted to make a lookalike and stuff like a stubby 10-15rd mag in it just for the looks. No printing, though, like actually make a good lookalike.

Oh fuck yeah. Need to run across a beater Auto 5 some day. The wood isn't easy but it's easy to dick with until it looks good on the outside which is all that matters. The tube, as I understand, is the bitch.
>>
>>65372414
The old auto 5 tube cap threads are the same as remington 870 cap. You just have to make a spacer and it makes adjusting the friction rings a pain in the ass

Apologies for the late response, been rather busy with other things. I get the skepticism, but I'm not pulling this out of thin air; much like how I came across the slip gun configuration for the SAA, I came across this information for a full-auto configuration of the SAA by random (thanks to these videos).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9Z0d2eYJoQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yfr0Fa5mji0
If only Barry didn't kick the bucket, I would've loved to see him doing it since there doesn't appear to be a video of a full-auto SAA anywhere, only stories. Moving on, I came across something on random gun forums while trying to find any more information on the matter, and supposedly this can also be done by simply sharpening the firing pin, causing it to puncture the primer and release the pressure that way. Anywho, I never said this was all a reliable way to achieve full-auto in a SAA, I was merely stating that the concept sounds cool and that I wish that I could legally experiment and if successful, utilize this concept for both fun and self-defensive purposes. Sigh... Well at least the regular and slip gun configurations of the SAA will tie me over until the Hughes Amendment gets revoke... Someday...

I had an unobtanioum. Sad story. Had to throw her in the drain, there was a war, she was a casualty. More then the guilt of killing her I fear that she is still alive out there somewhere. Like the girl you meet one night in the nightclub and have no idea how she came to be there. four days no sleep, three nights no shelter, and there she was in my hand.

Makarov PB, I am going to dream about you the whole night, the whole week, the whole year.

Best I can do is a TAR 21 kit for $599. Also that thing just screams AUG knockoff. I think I read the aluminum is hard to weld on the TAR (some retarded kind) and it's like teflon coated or something. Take that with a giant grain of salt though because that's just what I read in some random comments, which are not known for their intelligence, and I did my obligatory 0 research because 8 have little interest at $600. Receivers are being worked on; looks like there's someone trying to model one. Imagine being the retard operating the torch if true, though, lol. How much money would be worth breathing that shit?

Not strictly unobtainium but the ones in .45 ACP were always scarce, and in any caliber are an effort to keep maintained and running for lack of spares.
