>125 years later>still the best handgun trigger there isIs it from a lack of trying or why cant other faggots make a gun with an excellent trigger?>inb4 muh aftermarket glawk trigger thats still worse than the worst 1911 trigger
Keep in mind the average person who carries a gun as part of their job is like 90 IQ at the absolute best. That's why 1911s are hobby toys and real professional operators carry weapons designed for the kind of mouth breather who gets mogged by an african grey parrot on an IQ test. Muh trigger break is irrelevant compared to being able to train a monkey to not shoot his own dick off. Shame they can't train these people not to shoot 20 civilians for every actual criminal but I know saying that makes me "soft on crime" or some shit because backtheblue logic.
>>65339624>Is it from a lack of trying or why cant other faggots make a gun with an excellent trigger?Lack of necessity. Duty triggers are already better than they need to be, and competition shooters are already obsessed with the 1911/2011 designs, so there is no need to innovate.

>>653396241911 triggers are mechanically very simply with short reset. It’s not Mormon magic, you can get similar feeling triggers in similar guns.>>65339686The real problem with 1911s for duty use imo is they need to be cleaned like 10 times more often than a modern striker and that’s time no one wants to spend. I also predict the SAO resurgence is going to result in a lot of range ADs as people ride the safety off before coming on target
>>65341082>you canSo why dont they

>>65341082>The real problem with 1911s for duty use imo is they need to be cleaned like 10 times more often than a modern striker and that’s time no one wants to spend. The average burger cop doesn't shoot enough that he would practically ever have to clean a good 1911. He can just keep applying lube and it'll keep working for as long as he actually stays in that job.The bigger problem is that 1) consistently good 1911s are not cheap, and poor 1911s are unreliable practically regardless of maintenance schedule and 2) most people who work in a 'duty' capacity cannot get away with the reduced magazine capacity.>I also predict the SAO resurgence is going to result in a lot of range ADs as people ride the safety off before coming on targetHammer fired SAO has been popular in the past, continues to be popular in certain avenues, and yet there's never been a notable large scale trend of NDs. Hell, the principal example of an ND used by people arguing against the safety of 1911s is like this single video from almost 2 decades ago or something.>>65340741>Duty triggers are already better than they need to beAs long as police and military suck as much ass as they do, nothing about the shootability of their firearms is truly better than it needs to be. Not saying they wouldn't still suck ass even if they had 0-recoil laser guns with electronic touchpad triggers, but basically no improvement is truly wasted when a bar as low as something like the FBI qualification exam actually poses a real challenge to them.
>>65339686You are a salty left wing faggot that shouldn't be on /k/ because you see them as political tools rather than machines. As a complete showing of how wrong you are, the Marines, the biggest retards assembled, litterally kept their 1911's with less problems compared to the P320. It's because of ammo capacity from single stack and double stack, 1911's require more-than-necessary effort to clean and are expensive to fix compared to a striker fired/polymer framed gun. The reason why 2011's became as popular as they are is because advances in technology is taking away the issue of capacity and reliability. The future might even be with 2011's in LEO as they are getting cheaper

I simply meant that the crispest trigger in the world with 0 mush might help a pro-competition shooter shave some milliseconds off his time but doesn't make a difference for anyone who isn't at that pro level; anyone (like me) not trying to be in the top 10 IDPA or USPSA or whatever doesn't need a better trigger than what's already available. Personally, I could rely on a stock duty trigger, get a decent aftermarket trigger on a carry gun, or get a 1911/2011, and my chances of defending myself are the same; any criminal assailant trying to hurt me isn't more dead because I took 1.19 seconds to draw and shoot my gun rather than 1.07 seconds.
>>65341467>I love gun grabbing feds! Yum yum more boot please!Eat shit.
>>65341467Did it hurt when you shot your own dick off?
My 1911 slide is currently at my machinist getting cut for a shielded bomar sight. It's been ten weeks now. I have a giant pile of ammo I'm waiting to shoot.Going for a clone of Brad Halling's mogadishu gun, S&A magwell, three hole trigger, 20lpi front strap, hardballer grips. No ambi safety because I hate them.
>>65339624There needs to be a 50AE 1911 and no one can convince me otherwise
