It's an 1851 Navy cartridge conversion, but they just did the loading gate, they didn't add an ejector rod, so you have to poke the spent brass out with a stick
You put your forearm right in front of the cylinder of a .44 Magnum revolver. What could go wrong?
Don't worry, I'm on the list.
>>65351862
It's 9mm, but it's super lightweight and poorly balanced, meaning that the muzzle is pointed at the sky after every shot and you have to find the target again. If you're in a self-defense shooting with this and you try and use the laser instead of the iron sights and you miss your first shot, you'll be dead before the second one

>>65350930Arguably a contender for this thread, the brazilian "Mosquefal". Basically a locally rechambered Mauser 98 for 7.62x51mm NATO that is meant for a specific conscript service school called Tiro de Guerra. It is a training rifle that tries to mimic some of the FAL characteristics (namely being chambered in 7.62 NATO and having a FAL muzzlebreak) as a cheaper way to prepare the conscript in case he ever is called upon to serve on an active duty unit during war time. The thing is though, it has drum style iron sights similar to the G3 instead of the standard FAL sight (???). The rifles they had at my unit were so old (I unironically believe that my father and my uncles handled the very same rifles 30-40+ years before) that they had us learn how to shoot with paratrooper model FALs instead when the time came. The mosquefals were used only for field exercises and marching/parade drills. Therefore, I believe they are impractical in the sense that they aren't made for fighting, yet they also fail at doing the only thing they should actually do that is imitating the basic functionalities of the FAL. You could replace them with heavy long sticks and the result would be the same.

>>65355944They stopped making those old actions because labor became too expensive and the average consumer became too cheapIf it isn't an ar, or a simple lathe turned round bar bolt action, it will not sell
>>65355992Have you seen blueprints of rolling blocks?A couple hours with A.I. enhanced metrology to CAD to GCode and you have a working action. The manufacturing process itself is stupid simple. >>65356029There are more parts than that sugggests. But they are simple. Imagine a sturdy, lightweight, single shot in whatever reasonable caliber you want for $275 or less. Then make it hinged upper and lower.

As a cartridge, 9mm Glisenti. Italians don't build actions strong enough for 9mm Parabellum, so they use a less pressurized cartridge based on it...with the same dimensions. So be careful what you're chambering because the round the rest of the world is using is the equivalent of Bubba's handload to your spaghetti shooter.
