It's Russian navy day!
Here is Putin congratulation the navy in the port of... back alley of Kremlin.

Is navy obsolete at this point unless you have overkill superiority?

Putin acts and behaves like a bullshitting uncle on facebook who pretends he's a millionaire but in reality is living off worker's comp fraud and his nissan just got repo'd by a sweaty guy in a super duty.

The idea is that you cover a building with a picture of the building while it's being renovated so that the scaffolding doesn't ruin the historical feel of the street.

It's not a terrible idea, but if the renovation money goes towards yachts rather than renovation, you soon get an entire city looking like this.

FTFY. Tsarist Russia, Bolshevik Russia, Soviet Russia, Putinist Russia, all same shit with different flavor. All poisonous in equal proportions to the amount of contact you have with it.

A degree of that was also optimism from the west, combined with a little bit of a self-inflicted ideological trap. People really wanted to believe that everything was fine now and rehabilitate Russia.
The other end of it is that if you can only view the Cold War as the clash of economic systems and associated ideology then it follows that oh, they aren't ruled by a Communist government anymore, so they must be good now. Russia would've been Russia no matter the flag flown or ideology rallied behind, as we can pretty clearly see at the moment. People wanted to believe it was clean and simple and most of all, over.
>>
>>65369799

It's no more a small squad than a small wave sent to draw out drones so they can try to counter fire. Usually it doesn't work though, that's why they just keep trying until they find some kind of crack. Still a meat wave that accomplishes basically nothing.

They posed for a picture in knightly regalia, then they got changed and wore uniforms and used rifles like everyone else because they were fully aware of modern military practices because there had been modern wars fought all around the area for decades.

Georgians just take formal military dress pretty seriously and it's a part of their culture.

That's the original idea, in russia they use it primarily to hide the dilapidated state of things from the public eye. Often done before an official would visit some location, since they might not even notice that fake nature of things if they are quickly driven by car through the street.

I remember how when putin was visiting some bumfuck yet large city in russia the local governor basically had retards paint everything fucked up and broken with gray paint, as if it's all new and finished with stone, since no one would be looking too close.

e.g

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_(Yakovleva)

"The group was confined at Yekaterinburg and later at Alapaevsk. On the afternoon of July 18, 1918 they were herded into the woods outside Alapaevsk at gunpoint, clubbed on the back of the head, and thrown one by one into a mineshaft in the woods..All but Grand Duke Sergei Mikhailovich, who had been shot in the head, survived the fall. They could be heard singing hymns from the bottom of the shaft. One by one they lost consciousness and died."

The hypocrisy of Russia has no limits though

"In 1981, Yakovleva was canonized as a "new martyr" by the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad as a victim of Soviet oppression along with the other members of the group. She was in April 1992 also canonized as a martyr by the Russian Orthodox Church inside Russia."

There is nuance.
Turns out that when your enemy has superiority in firepower, a frontal assault is gonna be a massacre.
So what you do is send small units to infiltrate the line. If their attack is discovered they'll get killed quickly but you only lost a few guys. If they get inside the wire, you bring in the bulk of the forces to assault that point. The defender may be forced to abandon the position due to threat of encirclement. However, if the defender stands his ground, from his perspective he will be forced to mow down a suicidal charge. A human wave doesn't necessarily mean using the bodies to soak up enemy fire, it's a way to close the distance and create a messy fight to deny the enemy the advantage.
In Ukraine they refer to Russian small squad attacks as "meat wave". The wave isn't the human mass crashing into the defense like the sea against the shore, but the videogame style "wave" you have to fight off and prepare to fight the next one. Some waves could be penal battalion/roosters who bring shovels and ammo cans and their job is to advance through no man's land and dig positions and leave ammo and grenades as resupply points so that follow up waves with assault troops can use to get cover and replenish ammo as they fight their way through. Then some waves can be the "boss stage" by including actually trained troops with proper armor, night vision, etc.

It's GPS jamming, so that Ukraine's weapons of war can't make use of them. It has the side-effect of jamming everyone else's GPS so they can't use it to navigate. A lot of them don't have passports so that's the first problem and getting out of Russia itself can be fairly expensive just to cover distances, there is some air travel inside the country which is a mix of 'lol aeroflot things' mixed in with it being quite pricey. Prior to the great petro shortage of 2026 still means spending money for long trips, assuming you have an actual car.
So there's a lot that are just stuck and they know they're fucked, they're going to get mobilised which is different to the shills who say 'they mobilise every year' which is for the conscription. Mobilisation is for the people who 'had' conscript service on their state records and they're getting calls to say

I think adding anything is a mistake because it's too fragile and has no crew for damage control so it has to be treated as expendable.

A remote-operated semi-autonomous air defence platform is a great idea, send it into contested waters and prevent enemy air superiority and complicate enemy air missions.
It will die easily though so it needs to be as cheap as possible which means as small as possible.

I think Ukraine has the right idea making a virtual frigate out of a flotilla of drone ships.

the cost and logistics of getting out obviously can't be discounted. but this guy's family had valid passports from comming to visit him and he's some sort of engineer and was earning enough to put up a least a few of them.
but they figured that it wouldn't be so bad, it wouldn't be them ect.

You should at least know Russian slurs by now, Churkas are immigrants to wealthy Russian regions from caucasus/stans and by association/implication, are muslims.

It's a slur with a pretty wide focus, unlike some others: can be used for people from the caucasus (chechens, dagestani, etc), central asia (tajiks, uzbeks) and so on. There's a fuck ton of people of asian origin in Siberia. Shit, uralic people were in fact quiet a bit asiatic originally.

Navies aren”t obsolete, it’s just that no one can afford them anymore. It’s not the boats, that’s nothing. It’s the enormous human capital expenditure to organize and manage a useful naval force. Even the U.S. can barely afford a fraction of what it once had there’s no chance Russia can.

Russia has no need for professional/trained soldiers. A guy who spent 3 years doing rigirous training, with accurate rifle fire, tactics, stamina and shit all die just as easily to a drone as a guy who had two weeks travelling from Autonomous Jewish Oblast to [insert whatever village you're hyping up atm]. Unless they're training 500,000 guys to deal with drones and do it for three years so they can be deployed in three years time, there is no real reason to do it.
>>
Everybody keeps pointing out how many Russian's are dying but people forget that Russia kidnapped 5,000,000~ children from Ukraine. Which means they are now 4 years older, so some will be nearing mobik age. EU plans the war to last until 2030, so by then even more. Of course, that won't happen, because USA is giving more money to Russia over sanctions and stuff while saying Zelensky is lying over Russia helping Iran. Lmao.

Chief Monke has those as well, specifically for situations where he has to be without shoes. Some years ago there was like a summit (iirc, somewhere in asia) where they had to sit without footwear and you could see deformed shape of his "feet" in socks.

What the soviet union did wasn't a human wave, it was arguably even worse since any unnecesssary, unsupported and badly planned infantry assault is indistinguishable from a human wave
And the soviet union had an abundance of infantry assaults that would make the Iran-Iraq waves look well thought out operations

Most people in western countries seem to be somewhere in the 5'8-5'10 range and doing just completely fine with their lives. People out there on social media projecting insecurities or hopping on the victimhood train looking for something or someone to blame about everything they perceive is against them. They don't mean shit and goodness only knows what they would do if they had an actual physical disability because that's when things get proper tough.

With how efficiently Medvedev went from being his own man to parroting all of Putin's opinions, you might be onto something that the President of Russia is an arbitrary figurehead that shares a script of how to hold himself.

Medvedev is a theoretical potential replacement for Putin, so he drinks and acts like a fool. The more foolish a fool, and the more he parrots propaganda talking points, the more he makes Putin smile and thanks him. Medvedev's goal is to not be thrown from a window and to survive Putin. It may mean that Putin's successor throws him out of a window anyways.

Our gal Natalia Poklonskaya has gotten into slavic neo-paganism posting as well, for similar reasons. Don't be a threat to the regime Play the clown.

Putin probably goes through a checklist of potential threats, and then has his FSB guys give him an asseessment of how threatening they are.

I don't think that's about threat reduction, she just enjoyed the celebrity status and has found a niche to occupy to weather the storm until society calms down.
There's no jobs she could take right now that are particularly worth having, if she was part of the security establishment, they might tell her to do things she doesn't want to do and she's basically escaped from being drafted as a military governor, if she still wore a uniform then they might send her back to Crimea or somewhere worse to root out Ukrainian citizens and commit war crimes against them or other things that get you on lists.

Natalia specifically has said the war is a very bad idea because it pits Russians against Ukrainians, and she is a true believer in thinking they're one and the same peoples. Thus she wants nothing to do with this shit. But that puts her on the "potential threat" scale for Putin and Putin has thrown people out of windows for less. As a former prosecutor, she could damn well win an election somewhere.
>>
>>65375892
>Thus she wants nothing to do with this shit.
She was something to do with this shit in Crimea obviously, so she's already got sanctions on her and can't leave and probably can't spend money outside of Russia and if she wasn't careful about her flights and where she transferred or where they overflew, she could be subject to arrest and extradition to Ukraine.

>But that puts her on the "potential threat" scale for Putin and Putin has thrown people out of windows for less. As a former prosecutor, she could damn well win an election somewhere.
She was already fired for just saying that the war was a tragedy, obviously she needs a way to survive but although she could probably win a Duma spot, it would be a dangerous job to have as you say.

Shutting the hell up and embracing TradSlav simps is a way for her to make money while biding her time for when she can safely re-enter politics in the future.
