THANK YOU BEST ALLY

>In a major boost for India's indigenous aerospace sector, American engine manufacturer GE Aerospace has launched a specialised production facility exclusively for the F404-IN20 turbofan engine.

https://defence.in/threads/ge-aerospace-sets-up-dedicated-f404-in20-line-to-speed-up-tejas-mk1a-deliveries-aims-for-52-engines-by-next-year.18367/
>>

So the Indians finally gave up building their own engines. I'm surprised France didn't get the engine deal.
>>
>>65369191
Eh, the main reason to go with France over the US for military aerospace stuff is that the US sometimes outright refuses to give you what you need at any price. But if they are willing, the US is almost always the better choice over an overly expensive second rate competitor.
>>
>>65369123
This better lead to them going to war with china
>>
>>65369191
They're still looking to build their own for AMCA, likely French, but I think Rolls Royce made another proposal.
>>
>>65369259
Nice try but it was mostly Rafales that went down, only one Tejas got shot down (if any).
>>
>>65369123
>40 years of development
>no indigenous engine
>no indigenous avionics
>barely functional airframe
Why are Indians like this?
>>
>>65369415
Because they're barely above africans. They've bought into their own lies.
>>
>>65369123

The 404 is a fine jet but good lord its almost 50 years old.
>>
>>65369678
So it's 30 years ahead of Indian R&D?
>>
>>65369415
I mean I'm sure they have some competent engineers. Imagine being those poor guys, trapped in a country-sized cage with a billion zoo animals constantly fucking up your work.
>>
>>65369893
All of the competent engineers work for the foreign companies they buy from.
>>
>>65369444
checked
but in my personal experience, most african immigrants arent nearly as bad as the indian ones, by a noticeable amount
>>
>>65369123
>Tejas
Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek
>>
>>65369678
Which is fine because the tejas is a 40 year old design.
>>
>>65369893
Now you know how Alexander Seversky, Alexander Kartveli, and Igor Sikorsky felt. If only Tupolev and Polikarpov could've gone with them.
>>
>>65374646
only if they murder-suicide when they do it
>>
Amerimutts are insecure about China's growth so now they're building up another China
What a sorry country
>>
>>65369728
Try 50
>>
>>65369217
We can only hope.

>>65369893
The good ones either left or used their brains to transition to management.

>>65374841
Are Changs honestly afraid of the Tejas? kek
>>
>>65374841
>America is so powerful, it can just raise any shithole to chinese levels
Either a weird compliment for the USA's nation building abilities or making fun of how poor china is
>>
>>65375044
Its a compliment
>>
The only case of America being actually good at nation-building was Japan because what else is there, Afghanistan? Iraq?
>>
>>65375268
Germany?
Korea?
Israel?
Taiwan?
>>
>>65375284
We didn't build West Germany and obviously we didn't build East Germany. Korea and Israel's independence were supported by us and we provided aid but again we didn't directly build those countries. We drafted Japan's constitution and set the course for their economic recovery, and tried to restructure Afghanistan and Iraq after invading. The Marshall Plan involved the Europeans rebuilding themselves, rather than America coming in and doing it for them.
>>
>>65375319
Without the Marshall Plan and similar economic/industry assistance, west germany and the other europeans could hardly afford to rebuild themselves. The same goes for Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.
To say those weren't successful American nation-building plans is just cope.
>>
>>65375319
Denazification had a more direct impact on who was allowed to hold power in immediate post war Germany than I can recall ever being exercised in Japan, where MacArthur was quite hands off in most levels of government. The constitution was eventually rewritten but the civic structure was left much more intact. Both countries were heavily reliant on American aid in the immediate post war period.

I like how nobody brought up the Philippines at all, as a positive or negative example, in the last few posts lol
>>
>>65375362
I considered it, but it’s honestly difficult for me to say that they’d have been much better or worse off with or without aid or intervention. They just seem that they are what they are and I’m not betting on anyone ever changing that
>>
>>65375335
it sped up recovery by almost a decade but the Europeans would have recovered on their own.
and the Marshall plan wasn't nation building. all those countries had been functional democracies before. Even Japan where the entire political apparatus on the regional level had never been messed with.
>>
>>65375390
It’s questionable to what degree you can call Germany, Taiwan, or Japan functional democracies until relatively recent history. Japan was effectively a military government with a veneer of democracy. It does not matter who is elected when the military will just assassinate him if they disagree over policy. Taiwan was ruled by one party until the year 2000, with the majority of that rule being highly authoritarian. Germany was democratic, until it very much wasn’t, and the period where it was fully democratic before the end of WWII was both short and highly dysfunctional.
