When I was 10 the neighbors Rottweiler got loose and the animal control officer laughed at us when we told him he was going to need backup. Retard tried laying a trail of dog treats into a kennel and waiting by the door. The dog got in between him and the truck and chased him over our fence. The cops showed up and over the course of the next six hours hit the dog with six different darts every hour on the hour. Eventually it slowed down enough the cop was able to roll his cruisers tire over the broken chain hanging around its neck and they got it with the bite pole. The guy told us afterwards he had loaded it up with enough tranquilizers to drop a horse and it should have died. The city deemed it vicious and it was back in their yard 72 hours later. The next time it got out one of our other neighbors shot it. Tranquilizer darts are fucking dumb with a million variables that can fuck with the result.

If you are so sadistically inclined you can also sleep better knowing they all suffocated completely awake dying slowly in a panic. (Hence it's only merciful to do this to people on full throttle where lack of oxygen leads to a quick blackout)
